- Katherine May answers questions following her Interfaith lecture:
How would our communities change if we were intentionally looking for awe each day? Does experiencing small moments of awe make us more or less likely to encounter larger moments of awe?
How can awe help us build community? Could you discuss the difference between awe experienced individually versus as a community?
How can we actively confront and counteract the growing trend toward worldly boredom that dismisses the experience of awe?
Could you say more about the connection between awe and fear?
I tend to guard my personal moments of awe, whether wonderful or terrifying, and rarely share them. What is the value in revisiting and sharing our personal moments of awe and wonder even if they frighten us?
Can the shared experience of awe within a group have a transformative impact on us? If so, how?
It seems that children are naturally inclined to notice wonder and experience awe instinctively. How can we nurture this instinct rather than diminish it as they grow?
How have our phones and the compulsion to share every moment affected our experience of awe?
How can we strengthen our "awe muscle"? What can we take with us as we move into the weekend at the end of this week focused on wonder and awe?
