I am living Canada since 2010, Sujith is 100% correct I waited 1.8 yrs to get surgery done for my daughter. People died while waiting for cancer treatment. Medical system sucks here in Canada. Last month I waited 9 hours to get treatment for my dauther

You cannot say north indian health care is bad sujith, I travelled with wife and 8 year old girl to leh in last September and we got all support there, may be even better than kerala, Wife and daughter had breathing issue because of high altitude, lucky it was in leh, the army hospital and govt hospital there is awesome, most professional. interesting part is treatment is free there... came back with very good memories.. most of us are aware of health care delay in europe from our friends and colleagues, many of them packs medicine for common deceases from india itself

@dhanya3883 You are talking about just one aspect of medical care. How many doctors per 1000 people or how many hospital beds per 1000 people. How many fully equipped Ambulances. Medical care is evaluated for its response to critical and life threatening situations and not treatment of common cold.
@@suseeln it's not just common cold,I personally know someone who had a late cancer diagnosis and lost her life. This was in the Uk. So much for the best medical system in the world. Had another patient from europe with gall bladder stone who was in severe pain and was given an appointment for April this year.He was on pain medications and suffering immensly,you dont think he deserves a prompt medical attention? How about your quality of life when you are in immense chronic pain? Now I know private insurance that is available there but see not everybody can afford that,not everyone has the privilege. Edited to add the bladder stone story.

Sujith, I usually comment as a critic, but this time i must agree with you. As a German Resident, the healthcare system is appalling . Its by far the worst in terms of availability. Even Nurses don't get appointments on the same day in emergency situations , let alone citizens, let alone foreigners. I'm glad you called it out, and a lot of people have been calling it out over the past few years. EU s doctors cant cope up with the rise of immigrants and immigration policies , leaving them in hopeless situations. In this case, India is miles ahead, given our population, we have enough number of hospitals and doctors to help us. Take care and recover at a comfortable pace.

Life expectancy in Germany is far higher than India and in case of an accident, you don't need to find an Auto to take you to hospital. The system in Europe is very different to India. In India, money is the priority and you can visit a consultant for common cold, if you have money. In Europe they utilise his time in treating people with more serious conditions.
Same issue I faced at CIAL international arrival. Even the security guard abused me. As my brother travelled more than 12 hours I didn’t waited to report it to authorities. Cial has to take serious measures at international arrival pick up area

Im currently residing abroad in canada and i totally agree with sujith. The healthcare system in india especially kerala is second to none. I personally had experiences where i was diagnosed twice and medical procedures were performed on me by doctors here in canada but no success. Decided to travel back to india for a surgical procedure and my issue was completely cured by the doctors from one of the prominent hospital in kochi. Two year of continuous pain was resolved within a week. Free healthcare claims by the European countries are a hoax, you pay for medical insurance from your paycheck, the same thing you can get it by taking a health insurance in india.
Here in Belgium; at least the small town I live in...getting appointment with General practitioner is not on the same day...but next day or later I get treatment. But getting an appointment with a specialist doctor can take weeks. I tried to make appointment with skin specialist once, and it was after 2 months only! But in India, I was treated immediatly. Getting a doctor to prescribe antibiotics is out of question in Europe. In Belgium medical laws dont allow doctors to prescribe so easily. It is to keep natives here non dependent on antibiotics and develop tolerance

Completely agree - the health system and service in Kerala is far superior to most in the world. The waiting lists for non-critical issues to be seen my doc is quite long in Europe. But my only point is, there should be doctors or public health centres where people should go for smaller issues and hospitals for critical issues - I think (from what I have seen, and I might be wrong), people go to hospitals for everything. But on the whole, for a visitor, it's pretty difficult if you have a health issue in Europe. A lot of parents coming over face this issue. You cannot say north indian health care is bad sujith, I travelled with wife and 8 year old girl to leh in last September and we got all support there, may be even better than kerala, Wife and daughter had breathing issue because of high altitude, lucky it was in leh, the army hospital and govt hospital there is awesome, most professional. interesting part is treatment is free there... came back with very good memories.. most of us are aware of health care delay in europe from our friends and colleagues, many of them packs medicine for common deceases from india itself

Had another patient from europe with gall bladder stone who was in severe pain and was given an appointment for April this year.He was on pain medications and suffering immensly,you dont think he deserves a prompt medical attention? How about your quality of life when you are in immense chronic pain? Now I know private insurance that is available there but see not everybody can afford that,not everyone has the privilege.

Sujith, I usually comment as a critic, but this time i must agree with you. As a German Resident, the healthcare system is appalling . Its by far the worst in terms of availability. Even Nurses don't get appointments on the same day in emergency situations , let alone citizens, let alone foreigners. I'm glad you called it out, and a lot of people have been calling it out over the past few years. EU s doctors cant cope up with the rise of immigrants and immigration policies , leaving them in hopeless situations. In this case, India is miles ahead, given our population, we have enough number of hospitals and doctors to help us. Take care and recover at a comfortable pace.
@surajmenon8138 India has 1.34 doctors per 1000 people, while Germany has 4.5 per thousand. Life expectancy in Germany is far higher than India and in case of an accident, you don't need to find an Auto to take you to hospital.
The system in Europe is very different to India. In India, money is the priority and you can visit a consultant for common cold, if you have money. In Europe they utilise his time in treating people with more serious conditions.

Im currently residing abroad in canada and i totally agree with sujith. The healthcare system in india especially kerala is second to none. I personally had experiences where i was diagnosed twice and medical procedures were performed on me by doctors here in canada but no success. Decided to travel back to india for a surgical procedure and my issue was completely cured by the doctors from one of the prominent hospital in kochi. Two year of continuous pain was resolved within a week. Free healthcare claims by the European countries are a hoax, you pay for medical insurance from your paycheck, the same thing you can get it by taking a health insurance in india.
Here in Belgium; at least the small town I live in...getting appointment with General practitioner is not on the same day...but next day or later I get treatment. But getting an appointment with a specialist doctor can take weeks. I tried to make appointment with skin specialist once, and it was after 2 months only! But in India, I was treated immediatly. Getting a doctor to prescribe antibiotics is out of question in Europe. In Belgium medical laws dont allow doctors to prescribe so easily. It is to keep natives here non dependent on antibiotics and develop tolerance

Completely agree - the health system and service in Kerala is far superior to most in the world. The waiting lists for non-critical issues to be seen my doc is quite long in Europe. But my only point is, there should be doctors or public health centres where people should go for smaller issues and hospitals for critical issues - I think (from what I have seen, and I might be wrong), people go to hospitals for everything. But on the whole, for a visitor, it's pretty difficult if you have a health issue in Europe. A lot of parents coming over face this issue. Hope you get well soon, and continue your journey - good luck from Ireland.
