We'll do lots of practice problems so that scientific notation becomes really easy. In scientific notation, you express a number with exponents on ten. As you move the decimal point, the exponent on 10 changes. Scientific notation is sometimes called exponential notation.

Hi sir..... your video of scientific notation was very helpful. But I have some difficulty to understand this question. (If there are 0.000000000000000000000000000911grams electrons in one atom. How many would be in one million atoms. Please explain. My email address is shehnazrafique0@gmail.com. Thanks

You are so helpful Tyler! Even though I'm in Chemistry 221 (Gen. Chem) in the university, I still need this refresher to get through it. It's amazing how these videos of yours can help people in college as well as kids in maybe middle school or high school. You're making a big difference for many people, so thank you!

Finally this makes sense! Thank you so much. One quick tip/request. For those having a go without the explanation it would be good if there was a short amount of time to pause or screenshot your video where your hands arent over the problems. Not a criticism, just something i personally would have found helpful so i dont need to pause and play as much. Thank you! :)

When you do this, you're really interesting, it draws my attention which is really good. You also take your time so we don't have to pause to copy stuff down, you really dumb it down so everyone understands instead of trying to look impressive, it's really good work. Thanks Tyler, I appreciate it, and it looks like I'm not the only one either. :)

I used different teaching strategies on my channel. However, I like your teaching strategies too. We never stop learning and I think we can support each other on UA-cam regardless of the content.

On the third example! If you count the numbers from 0 after the decimal point to number 2, that gives you 7. Since you went up to the right, it's negative. Isn't it easier to just count the numbers or does it have a negative effect in a particular example? Thanks for sharing, very helpful. Tyler DeWitt
