That will depend on the laser wattage, power and speed. In my experience 40w is good for 6mm Ply, MDF etc , but you will have to run slow at that thickness. If you find a glue pocket in the wood you may need to do a 2nd pass The higher wattage the faster the laser will cut and less charring as a result
