I appreciate tour channel a lot, and I understand that you do so to get more CTR for your videos, but as a camera enthusiast I find it quite annoying not viewing the lens name on the title/thumbnail. The only reason I click now on these videos is because my good previous experience with your content. So this is my honest feedback as your subscriber, so don't take it to heart, I love you and your videos
I totally get it. And I would love to include everything in the title and thumbnail, but unfortunately - those videos die right away. It's a weird thing that's happening, but no one will watch my videos if it has the name in the title (usually). I will try to switch back as time goes but it is what it is right now and people just skip the video if they see Meike or even Sigma in the title. I consider it the sacrifice that has to ne made to let a wider audience see these great lenses.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis yeah it might work but consider the viewer who skipped to the last part to get the name would be more destructive for the content. straight into conclusion & price. its better to get attention from viewer from start
Thanks for the review! This lens came out a while ago for Fuji, but there's been basically no information or reviews done since. So I really appreciate you doing one as your reviews are always killer!
I have both, the Yongnuo 33mm 1.4 and the Yongnuo 16mm 1.8. Both are really good lenses, and the metal build is incredible. I really hope that both last for a long time.
Dude from a fellow Canuck i love your videos and delivery of them. I learn a lot about photography as I'm fairly new to it, being a video guy for much longer. You always explain things plainly and its easy to pick up. I've learned mew terms i never heard of before. Your sense of humor is spot on and helps me remember things because i laughed. Good job. Next time im back to ny home town Toronto ill let ya know!
Thank you, Mark for this review. I always watch your channel when you talk about these different lenses good for APSC & envelope it with your great sense of humor. I'm a big fan of yours. Watching here from Rainy Seattle Washington.
Thank you Mark for keeping us up to date with all this gear ! Great content ! Love your work here on this channel ! How can i get in touch with more of your work ? Do you have other channels or social media links ?
I think I could use one of those. I don't have a 50mm equiv. Have been using a kit lens to get that focal length. It would be nice to have the focal length with a fast aputure. ... Thanks for the good review. Am still waiting for my 16mm Yongnuo should arrive Monday. Cheers -- good review.
I've tried both the sigma 1.4 and the sony 1.8, and honestly between the two I still prefer the sony because is more compact and has stabilization, I don't like it aesthetically though the glossy finish of the sony does not match at all the body of my a6700, I love the fact that the meike used the same exact finishing of the 6700 looks like it was made for it!
Hi. Don't you think this lens has a bit of yellowish tint? It looks like there's a very slight tint especially at 4:53, where you can compare it to the others in the same frame. Or is it my idea? Did you see anything like that in post?
APS-C though...so you know, for us FF users, it's ~53mm (Canon, 1.6x crop)...no AF for Canon either...so...not really suitable. I'd be wanting to use such a lens as a walkabout street photography lens, and AF would be an important thing in order to actually capture street activity.
Now that Meike is really cool. The Yongnuo didn't really impress me, but the Meike now is a good choice at the price! With it beeing a bit cheaper than the Sigma (at new price at least) thats certainly a nice option.
damn that seems like a good purchase ive been eyeing the sigma 30mm for a while now its the only thing im missing in my beginner set up sigma 16 sony 50 oss sigma 18-50 sony 55-210 sony 30 mm macro and i think this will be my last infinity stone lol
It's time for Sigma to update its bestsellers, with that amount of fresh blood on the market they start to get somewhat long in the tooth, especially 30mm from 2016
I am extremly torn between the Sigma 30mm f1.4, the Meike 33mm f1.4 and the Viltrox 35mm f1.7. From Focal length i am usually more a 40mm Full-frame kind of guy, so the Sigma would suit me the best. But its optically the weakest. The Viltrox would be the smallest and lightest. Extremly hard to decided. Any recommendations?
While the sigma isn’t as “technically” great optically, it’s still great. And the focal length will probably mean more to you in real world use. Go tip with your gut and get the Sigma.
Hey Mark, what lens you would recommend for Head on talking videos especially for remote podcasts and some shorts. I am not looking for wide angle. Please suggest

I love how much competition there is between all the manufacturers, Makes them produce overall better products
I love my Sigma 30. I have it. 7 years. And i love it.❤❤
Digging the Canadian Tuxedo! haha. Nice work, Mark.

The Mark’s reply was informative enough. I totally accept his position and wish him the best

Love how the manufacturers are fighting with each other and us customers reap the benefits

I bought the meike 33mm f1.4🎉
Another great and precise vid Mark, thanks!
I love the colours straight out of the Sigma. It is small, and light. It is also good. But there is a dust particule in mine.
Thanks for the heads up like usual!! keep it coming mate.

Love what these companies are cooking up. Competition is good for everyone.
I sold my Sigma 30mm because the AF was poor & I keep having many images out of focus , I might give this Meike a try

Can't wait for the Viltrox 50mm 1.2 Pro
I’m really hoping we get this focal range in full frame Sony lenses from these companies soon. I heard viltrox has a 35mm combination
Can you review Meike 55mm f1.8 PRO Series? I hear it's good, but would like to see a review from you.
On the way
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisisI bought the Meike 50 and 85 because of your review probably gonna grab this too. It’s crazy they are this cheap.
None of these have a canon EF(S) mount. Anyone have a similar recommendation for a lens that fits on a canon camera?
Would you please do a telephoto lens comparison in the future😊
Excellent! Another awesome option.
This was the one I was carrying around at ProFusion - you should have modelled
Do you think some of these 3rd party brands will start making lenses that compete with the zoom sport photography lens?
For sports shooting - you're best to stick with native lenses or maybe a sigma art
It's time for Sigma to update its bestsellers, with that amount of fresh blood on the market they start to get somewhat long in the tooth, especially 30mm from 2016
That would be awesome
The real question is how do these stack up against the Sony 35mm f1.8 OSS?
2:33 Family photo?! I knew it!

This video is Meike-n’ me horn…. Good video 😳

i need an ultra wide for my Sony a6400 APSC, mainly for astrophotography. the Sony 11mm 1.8 is great, but expensive. Any other recommendations?

Hi, how does these lens compare to the Sony 35mm 1.8 OSS?
at 8:18, the loca is more evident at the edges of the face at the out of focus areas.
the new era of affordable chinese lens

I'm looking for a lense to record dancers on my a6400 any suggestions?
how far away are you fro the dancers?
what camera are you using with these lenses..?
a6700
is this APSC or fullframe?
apsc
The problem with the sigma 30 is the awful focus breathing in video
yes - the other two have virtually none
0:28 That closeup is absurd. The Chinese manufacturers are really coming into their own.
But the Viltrox is still 1.2
The 27 1.2 is a really great lens - but big and much more expensive
hey mark, can you please tell the name of the background music you use?
It's Play It Cool by Duke Herrington on Epidemic Sound
@MarkBennettCameraCrisis thanks mark. really appreciate it!
hahaha get your hands off my wallet lol

Great, but few people need lenses anymore, 99% of users take photos on their smartphones, and technology manufacturers are forever late.
