For example: someone misspelled "asylum" as "alsume" once, and since then it's been a joke to misspell everything, even the names of villains, like "The Fiddler" and "The Jonkler", "Dickstroke" and "Killer Cock". People who weren't in on the joke still posted earnest, sincere posts in the subreddit at this time, and all their posts got turned into shitposts. Someone would post "is there a lore reasonf for x?" and then shitposters would run with it "is there a lore reason for why my parents got divorced?". The "is he stupid?" trend also has been a driving force for the sub, "what arkham quote should I use?", and more recently "who the FUCK is this?" are other shitposty phrases that have taken hold in the subreddit.
