Sir.. If you have built the box properly, it would distort the crap out of the mic... if the mic does not distort, it means your mic has a high SPL level peak limit.... or you just dont have the sub turned up, either way..... if the box is ported it is tuned way too high, but if sealed, give it more power.... anyway its a nice sub all orions are good... but its ashame that ive seen people with alot of money that buy expensive speakers and dont even know how to use them.... then you got poor people like me that have experience that can make a $200 sub knock stuff off of walls in my house LOL... anyways good on ya mate... get a good box for that thing and a good amp and it will SLAAAAAM!!!

I'm from South America and didn't know this Orion brand, always thought JBL or Sony were the most powerful subwoofer brands, but watching Orion HCCA videos makes me realize that this brand is 10 galaxies upon everything, this is real power.
Even when it was underpowered in my old car; it made the windshield wipers bounce with ease, and I didn't have the "big three" upgraded. I have also burnt the original voice coil (was originally in a sealed box and couldnt smell it) and bought a replacement cone that simply un bolts and drops in with some guide pins. Cheers from the other hemisphere!

Your subsonic filter is killing the cool low note, and it sounds like you're bottoming that thing out HARD on the higher one. Just the camera? Definitely try it with no subsonic to see the real thing! Be careful
Honestly haven't run it much in my house and only power it with a 2500 watt Amp, but have had it for years wired one ohm if I remember correctly. Mine is the 12.2 hcca 2500rms 4000watt max. 4000 watt max yup, look up specs for an Orion hcca 12.2 sub (also come in 12.4, .4 referring to the ohms = to 4 ohm) mine is wired to 1 ohm as per the instructions that came with the 12.2, which is also common knowledge if you ask any bass head how to wire a sub.
Kicker is a good beginning subwoofer you can usually find them but since your starting out I would high recommmend getting the gothic 12 2 of them with the pa2500D
