As much as I love watching Ben and the boys, today was definitely Meg's day to shine. Everything looked incredible, especially that beautiful ham and the chocolate mousse pie! Even Meg couldn't help but lick the bowl. The boys were all cleaned up and hilarious. I wasn't expecting a Hollar video tonight so it was definitely another thing to be thankful for. You guys are just awesome
I gotta tell you what a wonderful video that is. It reminds me so much of my family as we were growing up in south ga. in the deep country. Meg you remind me so much of how my mama was as she fretted and with such care made our thanksgiving meal. She was a magician in the kitchen like you are. I loved being in there with her as she made dishes from scratch. she could seemingly prepare most any meal from almost nothing. I loved watching her hands go about their work. We ate so much food! She'd sit back and smile as we feasted. She passed a year ago today and I felt pretty bad. I came across this video again and tears came to my eyes. Thanks so much for all the love you show and all the same foods mama made. I feel better. Thank you.
Not only does Meg make delicious food, she makes it beautiful too! The music at the very end covered the groans of everyone who ate so much because it was just so good and they couldn’t move afterwards! 👌👏👍 Happy day after thanksgiving everyone. 💕💕💕
Our only “NATIONAL HOLY-DAY”!!! You did it absolutely right! A loving family, thanking God for the body that our land provides through his blessing our nation. Love to you all.
Thank you all for sharing your wonderful life and family with us. Sharing with us the way you all do allows some of us to vicariously live though you all because we can no longer live this way of life. THANK YOU , THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy Thanksgiving and bless you all.
I’m praying for a cook book 🙏🙏🙏. One day when she has time . Feeding her beautiful family is precious an so rewarding. Happy thanksgiving from across the pond 👏💐🤗
My favorite of this channel is Meg,s cooking and how vital it is to her family. She knows that’s her contribution to a functioning homestead. Her family is blessed to have her.
Sister, you straight up COOKED!!! You rule the kitchen! All that delicious looking food aside, they should all be thankful to the Father just for you! Be blessed. Jesus Rules!
What a Thanksgiving feast! Love seeing you and Buggie cooking in the kitchen together. It reminds me of cooking with my mom when I was young and then when my daughter was young like Buggie she would want to help me cook. Your boys and Ben show their appreciation for the feast you made is always so sweet. Y’all are making great memories for the kids to always remember for the rest of their lives.
WOWZA!!!!!!!! Now THAT is a Thanksgiving spread ~ FOR SURE!!!!!!!! Spectacular!!!!!!!!!!!! God Bless the entire beautiful family!!!!!!!!! Blessings abound! We all have soooooooooooooooooooooo much to be grateful for now and every day!
Good call on the rolls in the freezer Meg, and making the gravy ahead of time! I made my gravy a few days earlier, too because to me that is the most stressful part of the meal. What a blessing it was to have that done in advance! You are an inspiration to so many of us, thank you for sharing all your culinary secrets! 👩🏻🍳
Meg you are a kitchen phenomenon. It’s not just the number of dishes you prepare and cook from scratch, it’s also the volume of what you produce and without as much as a recipe. It’s obvious the whole family appreciate your food as they should. Hope you all have a wonderful break away from the camera enjoying the leftovers.
Meg sure knows how to coordinate timing & limited oven & fridge space and she's super fast. I'm surprised she hasn't thought about opening a Diner on their homestead property.
Meg, you are amazing! You just seem to have a wisdom about cooking that we all wish that we had! Great job! I know that Buggy is learning a lot from you! Happy Thanksgiving weekend to you and your wonderful family! God bless you all!❤️🙏🏼
I'm sure Meg would be amazing but I imagine that would be a huge overload on her. As a homeschooling mama who also homesteads I can't imagine adding that lol.
@@Ozarkmountainoutback1 -- - Don't underestimate Meg. She already cooks for an Army on a daily basis, it doesn't take much to add some more volume to meals already being prepared, besides, she can always hire help, which provides jobs for those in need. Diner, Bakery, Canned Goods, the list is endless. Government's around the world offer "GRANTS" (FREE MONEY) to start-up businesses. It doesn't hurt to see what her State offers.
I liked how Meg made creamed cauliflower, even though she probably was the only one who loved it and ate it and at the same time she made pie with the Nilla wafers, because it was one of Ben’s favorites. She made one of her husband’s favorites as well as her own not forgetting to honor both of their “likes” for Thanksgiving.
WOW Meg!What a fantastic spread! You make it all look so doable, but I bet your pie tasted even better sitting in your rocker. A well deserved rest. God bless your whole family❤🙏❤️🙏
❤It looks like you had an comforting Thanksgiving with family....the best kind to have❤ I always love watching Buggie help Mama in the kitchen with making meals. When cooking for a holiday there's always favorites that must go on the table because it wouldn't a memoriable holiday if they weren't there. For us it's the homemade cranberry orange sauce, mashed sweet potatoes (potatoes) harvested from our garden, and our pies must be homemade pumpkin, and apple pie (all from our garden). This year we had all the homemade stuff.... that is until it came to the pumpkin, and apple pies. My pumpkins only grew to the size of a baseballs. As for the apples, our trees never made it. So, I was bad, bought already made pies.....shhh don't tell anyone!!! Life is good! Blessings to you, and your family.
I can't express how much I love this family and wishing that I get to be their neighbor. Every video warms me up with wholesomeness plus Meg's cooking, Ben's projects with Buggy being Buggy. I love y'all.
When I started watching this channel many moons ago I remember the story of your family coming to a crossroads and the choices you made to get to where you are now and I think out loud "this is what life is SUPPOSED to be. Loving family, hard work, and great food. That's it. Happy thanksgiving Hollar household! Buggie is just beautiful with her hair done. As are the young men! God bless you all ❤️
Watching Buggy helping you in the kitchen reminds me of when mine were always in the kitchen with me. Such memories you are making. Happy Thanksgiving and have a blessed day.
Amazing feast. Enjoyed watching Meg make it. Just really enjoy your family. The boys are getting taller and more good lookin’ all the time. And Buggy-a definite princess. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you
Happy Thanksgiving from our New Hampshire farm to Ben, Meg and family. I have been following your journey since you bought your homestead. Your children have grown and flourished in a loving family environment. We are living a " Waltons Mountain " 1935 lifestyle, especially over the last three years, where we stayed on our farm. We continue to stay close to hearth & home and enjoy our small rural community. Meg you did a great job of preparing the holiday dinner. Brought back fond memories of my mom and gram baking pies and cooking a golden turkey. Gram saved the ham for a New England boiled dinner, followed by red flannel hash and eggs for breakfast. I continue to honor this tradition. Happy Holidays! ~ Diane
You have such a beautiful family... I enjoy every minute of your videos... your prayer before eating is my personal favorite moment in each of them. Love and blessings to you all!!!
I’d watch a Meg cooking channel over any other professional cooking show because I can relate to her and her environment plus that precious face and smile. Meg you ARE a Superstar Chef in my book.
You nailed it, Meg. What a lovely Thanksgiving dinner. Those pies look so delicious. I’m sure they’ll be gone in a flash. Bye, bye, Ms. American Pie.🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧❤️ Yummy!
Wow! Got hungry for Thanksgiving all over again. I also made a green bean casserole….billed as the ultimate. It was good. And a corn pudding casserole I’ve made for years. Everything looked delicious from the ham to the pies. Thanks for all you do and share every week on your homestead. So much fun to learn from you. Many blessings now and in the year ahead! ❤🍂🍁🥸
Meg loved this show. You and the baby were precious. I loved watching how you did the different mixing and prepping. We all have our own recipes, but you never know when we can pick up a tip. Love watching you. I am 82 years old and can always learn something new. Thank you girl. Love your little girl as we have watched since birth. Have a great Christmas holiday.
Stellar video Meg, like I have said on hollar Homestead and Roots and Refuge, You are the one the has been cooking since day one off the land not meat only but everything you grow harvest and milk.Thank you for doing it all and people notice, nothing to do when winter is here you have always cooked and we appreciated it.Keep doing and being you and We love watching Hollar Homestead .
Meg, I do the same thing with cabbage as you described with the cauliflower. It is really delicious and I look forward to trying your cauliflower version. We harvested and smoked a couple ducks this year as well as some citrus as part of the fruits of our labor. Truly adds a new level of appreciation to the celebration. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!!
Thanks for sharing your cooking of this Thanksgiving feast. Meg, everything looked so delicious and I love how y'all got so excited about your ham turning out so well. I can certainly see everyone was very happy with their meal. Have a Blessed weekend.
I thought you guys were taking a break! Soo glad you are here! What a nice surprise! Love you all. Prayers for your family. Nurse Judi in Scottsdale AZ and Eucharistic Minister ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Everyone was especially happy and all spit and polished to honor mom and all her hard work. Actually, each and every Hollar contributed to the bounty at this table. I see each and everyone of you working hard everyday! Happy Thanksgiving Hollar family and to all in youtube land also!💕
Meg, you said in the vlog that you had "cheated", no you didn't just because you cooked then froze the cobs the day before you still cooked them, well done. That ham looks blooming lovely, in fact that whole meal looks great. Happy Thanksgiving to you all.
May God bless your family. I glad you guys shared your Thanksgiving. It always make me smile watching you guys video. I had a great Thanksgiving yesterday.
I totally was giggling when Meg and Buggie were licking the spoons and bowl. It's definitely something I'd have been fighting with my kids to do, too! I love the holidays. Family comes together with love and eats delicious food. There's nothing better than that! 🙂🦋
I love this video:) I liked the way you did the quarter folding technique to get the crust into the pie plate. The roll it on a roller technique works well too. Another good way is to suddenly slide the pie dough off the counter, slide the other hand under it and yelling NINJA while giving it a toss, a spin, and a flip. Then you turn away as if you did nothing as it lands perfectly in the pie plate. I know, it's a bit old hat, but sometimes the old ways are comforting.
You are an inspiration in the kitchen Meg. We call it a cauliflower bake in Australia and it is delicious! Thanks for sharing your life with us, it is a blessing to see a family living as a family was designed to be.
This video is epic in so many ways, I remember when u had to do it in van and Meg had cried as she didn’t have space to cook all dishes also to see Meg and buggy licking pot’s together and then buggy looking like a princess oh so priceless really all of u guys should be thankful for Meg and buggy in ur lives❤❤❤
Beautiful video! Amazing to watch you cook with such love for your family Meg! You truly showed what Thanksgiving is about. Thankful for your family that you cook with so much passion and love for your family. God bless you all and may God continue to bless you with love, health and happiness 🙏❤
That meal looked amazing! Meg and Ben you outdid yourselves! I love ending the videos with you all gathered around the table. ❤ That is a rare scene for most families these days. Happy Thanksgiving, Hollar family! 🍽🍁🥧🍷
The shot of Meg and bug eating cake batter out of the pans. Is precious.
That was my favorite also life time memories! ❤
Buggy knows where to be when the kitchen is busy.😊
At 75 it’s still my thing to do 😉🤪🤪👵🏻👩🌾❣️
Brings back memories of my mom and I doing the same.
The biggest day in the Hollar household has to be Mother's Day. Hats off to you Meg. What a star you are!
Meg needs her own cooking youtube channel!
Maybe she could collaborate with Jess on her new channel!
She really is busy enough taking care of her family..
Maybe Meg doesn’t want one! She seems to be happy with the life she has! 😊
I have actually thought about it for many years, but right now adding more/separate videos to edit would be too much.
@@TheHollarHomesteadwhat do u mean?!?! U have plenty of extra time 😮😂❤

Finally a Meg cooking show for Thanksgiving dinner. Woohoo!!!!
I would love to do a community Thanksgiving with Meg. She is amazing!

The expressions on the boys' faces when they tried the ham. Loved it! Happy Thanksgiving!!! God bless you all!
Such a wonderful surprise. Thank you for all of it. God bless.
I love this video:)
I liked the way you did the quarter folding technique to get the crust into the pie plate.
I feel like that would end very badly for me 😂😂
