That comment sounds so ignorant. Go shoot some more plastic bbs. One it looks AWESOME, its an AMERICAN ICON, and its all about publicity are marketing. Go do some research on that and come back and take your chumpy prius with ya.
When there is an accident or fragments on the track, the pace car has to jump in among all those monsters to try and slow the race. You better have serious power or this is apocalypse on wheels.
ZexianBlue why do you consider it wasteful? We use all the fuel just like anyone else who fills up. There is no waste! Ill sit and wait for that to sink in. LMAO
If you asked that question then I have a few for you. 1. Why are you watching this 2. Do you watch nascar or racing in general? 3. Could you please leave America?
I only see them go faster on a dyno, myself. Most owners are scared of them. Those high power factory super cars are like Bentleys, etc: They look great, sound great, drive great, but are never pushed to the limits of the chassis or engine - unless their magazine fleet cars. Yet they ALWAYS want to add more power, install bigger brakes, top-of -the-line this, custom-made that all for SHOW and then turn around and sell it. To each his own, but IMO, it's disgusting.
1stGenStunter If that disgusts you, you gonna love my videos. Especially the GT3 RS 4.0 videos ;) I know it's quite ridiculous what most people do with these cars... I am not like that though. I bring em to the absolute limit - always. Biggest problem though are the strict enforced speed limits in most countries. When I am back home in Germany I can really push these kind of cars but here in the US I have to be a lot more careful. The reason why I posted that comment though was that I think it is ridiculous that the pace car only drives 45 mph in NASCAR. In Formula 1 the pace car (SLS AMG) drives at its absolute max, so there the SLS definitely makes sense.
"Being the pace car carries with it quite a lot of responsibilities, something that's reliable and pretty damn FAST" ....Because being limited to 45 mph is fast?
imNotMeWhenimHungry because you have to accelerate as quickly as possible to enter the racetrack and pick up the leader after a collision, so you can THEN slow the field down to 45 mph...
I met one of the pace car drivers before. He really loved to drive it on the track and he said he has a Mustang as a daily driver for himself ( I forgot what model though)
Justin how long is a typical lap for one of the nascars and how fast could a gt500 do a lap? I know 1 lap is different than being able to sustain hundreds of laps but I'd be curious to know if a gt500 could keep up (or any production car for that matter) for just 1 lap around a race track.
Great question mate! The trouble is the Shelby GT 500 is to set up in any way for an oval, and even with the banking factored in, the car would eventually break away long before the race car would. I am sure that if you let a NASCAR team set one up specifically for an Oval they could make it run a lap way faster than the standard car. But the weight, suspension and tires would still restrict it from getting anywhere near the race car. But on the road - the Gt500 rocks! JB
The characteristics of a production vehicle or production car are mass-produced identical models, offered for sale to the public, and able to be legally driven on public roads. Legislation and other rules further define the production vehicle within particular countries . now think to yourself ..
can anyone explain how nascar works? dont all the cars weigh around the same and have the same top speed/acceleration? so to win its about how you drive the car? i really have no idea
I think they need that much power not for top speed, but for acceleration. Because if some accident would've happened, "The pace car" would have to jump in pretty damn fast to slow other cars, otherwise it could be total disaster.
if they choose a car that best represents the brand and what not why did they choose a grand prix gtp in the daytona for their pace car? would a trans am be like 500x times better?
I love Mustangs as well, but can you guys drive something else? It seems like every week we have a different version of the Mustang. Also, Nationwide cars are not 850hp.
The characteristics of a production vehicle or production car are mass-produced identical models, offered for sale to the public, and able to be legally driven on public roads. Legislation and other rules further define the production vehicle within particular countries . now think to yourself
I think they have to meet a certain amount of annual production rates to be qualified as a Production vehicle. Koenigsegg is a limited production specialty car manufacturer.
How much are they paying you to say "Mustang-Mustang-Mustang-Mustang-Mustang-Mustang". The second I saw the Mustang in the thumbnail of the video I knew it would be Justin.
I've noticed this show is just a marketing tool for the car companies to push marketing campaigns and does not really deliver any true independent point of view on vehicles being shown. I m not saying they should be reviewing and dissecting all the cars they show, sometimes it s nice to just see something cool, but maybe a little more objective criticism from time to time would make people feel like Justin's not just taking giant checks from companies to highlight the products they have in a one sided, can do no wrong, type of light.
Yeah I agree then disagree was the corvette named after a jet that used in world war 2 I think not.the mustang got it original name from the p-51 that was used in the war and year or few years ford does a tribute to jet an the to the veterans that fought in the war.and the horse emblem on stangs represent the free spirit of the car and its customers.
And it does! You must not watch Nascar much do you? All three manufacturers supply pace cars for the series. Brush up on your racing before you come and make comments you know nothing about.
Sorry my comment was a bit brash. Now that I reread it. But yes I kinda see your point, but thats the whole point of a pace car. Me being from Indy the Pace Car was always a highlight of the race. There are tons of books about Indy Pace Cars alone. Its all marketing. What would you rather see a cheap econo sedan or a Shelby 500gt? JS.
George Hardy I know that. Obviously, hey'd never let a fwd chassis compete, much less a V6. All of these cars are just skins on a chassis. But how much did toyota pay them to put those on their cars? My point was that they should just go ahead prius and Corolla skins ( add in the nissan leaf and Volt) Just to make something even more out of place than a Camry.
R34GTRR35 That's what people said about every generation of Mustang besides the first one. Yet, today, the fact is, you go back and look at ANY year Mustang, they all look and sound like the all-american fucking badass with a pair of fat tires out back and a free-breathing exhaust.
Koenigsegg is not a production car.. and hope you are not talking about the SLS AMG Coupé Black Series ... The AMG 6.3-liter V8 engine generating a power output of 464 kW (631 hp.. and 0-60 in 3.6 .. gt500 dose it in 3.5 with 662hp
So why would they have a Shelby 500 to go at only 45mph? Might as well use a Prius it will at least save the gas for whoever is paying for the gas
In fact even Model T could go that fast, even faster with higher compression head :)
It would be epic to see NASCAR lead by Ford Model T :)
That comment sounds so ignorant. Go shoot some more plastic bbs. One it looks AWESOME, its an AMERICAN ICON, and its all about publicity are marketing. Go do some research on that and come back and take your chumpy prius with ya.

Awesome! Thanks for taking us along!
Awesome insight into the racing world. Justin keep making more like this one!
A Shelby GT 500 to drive 45 mph lol. Still nice video.
I only see them go faster on a dyno, myself. Most owners are scared of them. I thought the pace car went a lot faster like 80MPH or something like that, still that was pretty cool and justin is still the man!
LIFE DONT GET MUCH EPICLY COOLER THEN THAT
this guy is perfect for this show!
World's Fastest Car Show... in a Mustang that's race-bound/limited to 45MPH.
Rrrrrriiiiiggghhhttt....
Awesome experience Justin, I've never rode along in a real Pace Car @ a real race before.
I enjoyed watching about the pace car from inside during a race, that seems very intimidating.
Love mustangs
LUCKY BASTARD!
My dream gig. Mustang pace car driver.
I'm starting to think he REALLY likes Mustangs. That's awesome.
"Buster" is fucking great!!
What were the two cars at 5:55 the mustang and the charger, they don't look like fully prepped mascara
i'm in love .. mustang
Best Pace Car of all times is the 1989 Turbo Trans Am for the Indy 500!!
bought the flashing Whelen lightbar of that car HAAA !!!!!! so cool
I'm surprised the brakes didn't explode like the last gt-500 they tested.
name of this song ? 0:00 - 0:07
race car: Nascar ~800hp
street car: GT500 662hp
God Bless the USA!

The Ford GT would be a much better pace car!
The GT 500 and the Ford GT especially this one are basically the same thing. I do agree though the Ford GT would look a lot cooler out there.
jjvgeeh98 No they are not same thing at all.
Miller Motorsports Park uses a Ford GT for its pace car. ;)
...
And the Xfinity series was born
Beautiful!
"The pacecar needs to go pretty damn fast" ... 0-45mph.. slowly...
what was that Carl Edwards remark about?
whats cool is i drive a le baron.. and it was once a pace car :D
0:51 Roushe stage 3
They shoulda used a GT500 Super Snake! ALL of the power..
EMD 8-710G3A-T2 2150hp turbocharged V-8
The characteristics of a production vehicle or production car are mass-produced identical models, offered for sale to the public, and able to be legally driven on public roads. Legislation and other rules further define the production vehicle within particular countries . now think to yourself ..
that's a generator ... doesn't really count
Listen guys he's saying that they set the cruise control to 45 mph it's not limited it 45 mph
If I saw this Mustang as a cop car, I would floor it just so i have the privilege to be pulled over by that beast.
Quicker than next years F1 cars.
Please tell me that wasn't the actual suspension setup when they bounced on that car walks worse than my double cab!!
I have been to the sprit cup race and I saw the that pace car they Shelby GT500
# the cars were loud
can anyone explain how nascar works? dont all the cars weigh around the same and have the same top speed/acceleration? so to win its about how you drive the car? i really have no idea
HIT THE PACE CAR
Why do you need a 660 hp car to go 45 mph?
Its just about image. The same could be said about a car you see on the street too. Why do you need 660hp to go 75?
1alwayswin you could take to a track... whre the top speed isnt limited to 45 mph
I think they need that much power not for top speed, but for acceleration. Because if some accident would've happened, "The pace car" would have to jump in pretty damn fast to slow other cars, otherwise it could be total disaster.
Selection of a pace car is about marketing, cool factor, ability to inspire the crowd over America, and machismo.
Milos Sindjelic thats more likely. you are right
Gimme an AMG safety car any day.
Pace car not always guaranteed to lead every race!
Just a question. Why use such a powerful car as a pace car when it has to drive so slowly?
How come they didnt make the Explorer as the pace car? (LOL)
gt500 design is really awesome for me!!
there's no contest with this styling except lambo reventon & ford gt...............
does it really have the most powerful production V8 I thought the koenigsegg Agera R has more power
Gran Turismo 4 Intensifies
Just wait for the hellcat to come out
We all know it's not really a mustang that he races.
When Banye was young :^()
if they choose a car that best represents the brand and what not why did they choose a grand prix gtp in the daytona for their pace car? would a trans am be like 500x times better?
I love Mustangs as well, but can you guys drive something else? It seems like every week we have a different version of the Mustang. Also, Nationwide cars are not 850hp.
buster!
slowest worlds fastest car show
The new Mexican car the MXT is not any slower, it's a four second vehicle.
I am fairly certain the Koeniggsegg Agera has a more powerful V8. Unless that doesn't count as production.
The characteristics of a production vehicle or production car are mass-produced identical models, offered for sale to the public, and able to be legally driven on public roads. Legislation and other rules further define the production vehicle within particular countries . now think to yourself
Christian Ortiz Yeah, be a dick that's cool.
That Shelby GT 500 is to bs driven at high speeds, why choose it to go at 45 mph? Ironic
Why does it have to be such a fast car if there only doing 45 mph???
I love motorsports
The Shelby has too much power because it destroyed the chassis.
Most powerful production V8? Agera R much? (1244 hp)
I think they have to meet a certain amount of annual production rates to be qualified as a Production vehicle. Koenigsegg is a limited production specialty car manufacturer.
Awesome
Race car mustang1965--2021
God bless ford motor company
How much are they paying you to say "Mustang-Mustang-Mustang-Mustang-Mustang-Mustang". The second I saw the Mustang in the thumbnail of the video I knew it would be Justin.
That's what the car is. What do you want him to call it?
He has done a few videos promoting the Mustang, and there isn't a bad point about the car apparently.
I've noticed this show is just a marketing tool for the car companies to push marketing campaigns and does not really deliver any true independent point of view on vehicles being shown. I m not saying they should be reviewing and dissecting all the cars they show, sometimes it s nice to just see something cool, but maybe a little more objective criticism from time to time would make people feel like Justin's not just taking giant checks from companies to highlight the products they have in a one sided, can do no wrong, type of light.
the ford gt does
an old suzuki alto running with a misfire could do that job better than a mustang
It's so quiet. Should use a Hellcat
hellcat's are not reliable cus their built by italians
Good nan
Are you serious? No attempt to see how fast you can go?
Find it in hotwheels by mattel hotwheels redlinehotwheels on nascar times
The only reason why they have a ford shelby is because ford sponsored them
I live by homestead
Koenigsegg has the strongest V8
not a production car
Pace car has to be fast, yeah ok, so that means a camry is fast then?
why do they need anything special to drive 45mph around the track.
How can this car have the most powerfull production V8 when the one from Koenigsegg as over 1000hp?
The Hennessy Venom GT also has a 1,244hp 7.0-liter V8 engine...... but it doesn't really count either. Only 12-15 koenigseggs are made a year.
"production" is the keyword. Koenigsegg's aren't considered production cars because they're made in limited quantities.
i think it hand somthing to do with naturally aspirated or something, koenigsegg uses superchargers and crap, feel free to look it up
Kailen King The mustang is Supercharged too...
Kailen King
The mustang uses superchargers and crap too, feel free to look it up.
the koenigsegg ccrx had aroud 1000hp and had a v8...
The koenigsegg is not a production car.
wtf?lol
silly silly boy
Do you mean mass produced?
America's car (;
I think personally the corvette is
But the vette and stang are the cars of the USA
Yeah I agree then disagree was the corvette named after a jet that used in world war 2 I think not.the mustang got it original name from the p-51 that was used in the war and year or few years ford does a tribute to jet an the to the veterans that fought in the war.and the horse emblem on stangs represent the free spirit of the car and its customers.
The corvette was named from a small light fast
Destroyer ship class in WW1 and WW2
Camaro would have been better more aerodynamic and better power to weight ratio
The Camaro is 400lbs heavier and 100hp fewer. How is that better power to weight?
***** But you gotta give it some credit, it sounds amazing...
ahhahahah wow you really don't know cars do you
I'm in love.....
most powerful production V8... lols from koenigseg agera R
markMOT Koenigseggs originally had Ford Racing engine blocks you know....
and its not a production car
herst!
That car is fucking sexy!
thats right my mustang f$#@k rules
did they make an ugly version of this for 2015 yet?
most powerfull production v8? koeningsegg agera R have a v8 that produce 1140 hp lol
lol not a production car
That's a shitty life for a car of that stature. A Camry could do the same thing with ease.
And it does! You must not watch Nascar much do you? All three manufacturers supply pace cars for the series. Brush up on your racing before you come and make comments you know nothing about.
I do know that. I just said that cause they can keep on using the camry and give the Shelby to someone that would use it.
JS.
Of course I would rather see the Shelby!!! I just feel bad for the car not being used to its potential. I wasn't trying to sound like an idiot.
Why are there camries racing? Might as well put some corollas and priuses in for good measure. What a joke.
Lol.... you can't actually think there is a single part on those race cars that comes from a Camry....
it is there for advertisement purpose, it's not actually a camry or a corolla, it is just a custom made car with those names put on it.
Drew Brewich I dont give a single shit about nascar. Gooing in circles for hours is dumb. WRC and other rallys is where it's at.
kirbyswarp Says the guy with an Chevy profilepicture.
*nascars
Well thats cause its a mustang. Common sence should tell u that its the bedt car in the world
What a disappointment the new Mustang has been - unfortunately
Yea ik. I'm stick to the 2014 mustangs and below.lol
R34GTRR35 That's what people said about every generation of Mustang besides the first one. Yet, today, the fact is, you go back and look at ANY year Mustang, they all look and sound like the all-american fucking badass with a pair of fat tires out back and a free-breathing exhaust.
Most powerful V8!? Thats not right. Both AMG and Koenigsegg has a more powerful V8 engine.
Shelby Mustang > NASCAR (Fake) Mustang
boner
I like skateboards not this....
Nascar sucks but nice video.
1sz :D
NASCAR is trash!!!
