What a deep-thinking, caring man! I always followed Alan Arkin's career and thoroughly enjoyed all of his performances. But after being able to have the opportunity to watch how his thought process works, I was tearing up myself. He really can demand a lot from his audiences. He's not afraid to open himself up and share personal moments and include us all into his feelings. There is nothing phony or transparent about this wonderful man. What a Mensch with a happy Heart!

Alan Arkin always real. Very sorry he wasnt asked about the film The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter. His role in that. I have watched innumerable movies for over sixty years even foreign movies such as Andrei Tarkovsky, Bergman films all kinds of films. I never cried more than through that film The heart Is A Lonely Hunter. And every time I watch it.
If all the other films ever made somehow disappeared and that one film was left, film could start again just from his performance, and Sondra Locke's performance. Just thinking of that film makes me cry. It was so beautiful .It will always be.

Try reading the book 'The heart is a Lonely hunter '. Carson McCullers non fiction novel is so true and real it never lies about how the south was. It is still timely even in 2020.

One of arkin s best performances watching him relate to the other actors particularly his scenes with chuck mccann very poignant

I've enjoyed Arkin ever since his portrayal of Rozano in the Russians...A deft comedic and dramatic actor. He'll be missed.

Alan Arkin was in some great black comedies - like Little Murders, for example.
