This is my favourite vlog of yours. Sarah saving little cratures from imminent death 😅 And how you guys got excited to see that the old ice cream place still exists. It reminded me of your old video about how Seoul changed after Covid. It's heartbreaking seeing all the small shops being closed or out of bussiness. Beemo at the end was so adorable, I sometimes can't believe he's a real cat. He's so loving and sweet. An the things he does sometimes are so unexpected. Like I know cats do the kneading thing but Beemo does it with so much strenght and enthusiasm 😂 and on your back! I'm honestly obsessed with him. I could watch him do random stuff for hours on end.

Hopefully the gradual influx of tourists will help myeongdong open up again... I stayed there the last time I went to Korea and it was PACKED. So heartbreaking to see it like this :c

I understand about the season depression..I live in northern Sweden where by november we will have almost no daylight at all for over a month 😭 I love fall because it is cozy but it is depressing knowing winter is coming..so I always feel less motivated, more tired and a bit more gloomy in general. Luckily I am moving to Korea and am happy I will get some more sunlight 😂
Oh man when we visited we stayed in Myeongdong. SO sad that it looks nothing like when we were there. Literally packed with people every night and so poppin with life. We got those ice creams literally every night too lol. 2k won, I remember cause yeah, they were pretty cheap for how big they were. I'm going to go look at my pictures and find those now lol. Hopefully one day when this pandemic is under control, Myeongdong will be busy again and businesses will be back. Hate the Covid is ruining so many things.
A few things were so relatable and hit hard in this VLOG for me. Growing up in Singapore, where we don’t have changing seasons, I never had seasonal gloomies, but after a few years of living in Istanbul, I started to get them specifically in the transition between summer and fall too. I was also told by the doctor that I had a vitamin D deficiency. Weird how our bodies change according to where we live. I got really sad seeing Myeongdong like that… I know it’s a bit of a tourist spot but some of my best memories of traveling in Korea was soaking up the vibrancy of Myeongdong. I hope things pick up again for the businesses soon. And as always, thank you for this VLOG❤️

I love how bowl like Seoul is. Up around the rims you get great views down on the city. And those areas with great views can even be less expensive than the center part.

So weird and sad seeing Myeongdong like that! Even though I kind of hated it on my first visit (so overwhelming!) it made a huge impression on me and it's crazy to see it looking almost post-apocalyptic. I hope within another year tourism will pick up again and stores will be able to re-open. :(
I'm glad to know that people are open and becoming more aware about their mental health. Changes in seasons hits hard for many people. It's really helpful to interact with others and keep a minimal level of work load to not drain oneself out completely. The key is to be aware of the change and not judge it or resist it. I'm in the opposite camp, I get seasonal affective when we transition from spring into summer (reverse SAD). I love summer though! Something about longer days, increased pollen, humidity... it can affect some of us negatively. My anxiety flares right around may/ June.

@@NA-bp5ui Any time there is a big change, our bodies are trying to regulate again! Reverse SAD is triggered when melatonin is suppressed with the longer days.. and melatonin regulates mood and so many things!

I havent tried this 30cm ice cream before so I must make it a point to do so when I am in Seoul the next time. Ha ha there is one thing I cannot agree with you......Yes, fall is my top top top favourite season. It is a super happy season for me. I hope that you can shoot a video of the gorgeous fall sceneries. My last trip to Korea (actually to Busan and Jeju) was in Nov 2019 two months before covid hit.

Yes! Even though we know what’s coming after fall and it’s a little (well, maybe more than a little) deflating spiritually, we can still have those days when we appreciate the beautiful fall colors and atmosphere. That’s exactly how I feel, too. And, though I’m not a fan of winter with its gloominess and naked trees and gray landscapes, I still have moments when I can appreciate even cold, dreary winter. Snowfalls temporarily bring out the good vibes. Here’s to all us SAD (Seasonal Affect Disorder) people…may we have a short winter filled with people we love and a gorgeous spring. ❤️😁❤️

I have SAD since I moved to Canada, Victoria. The winters there are very gloomy and mostly overcast days. Last year I moved to Scarborough, Ontario, and I tolerated the winter much better. It is very sunny here during winter, I don't mind the chilling cold, as long as I don't have depression and migraines from lack of sun, which I did almost every winter day in Victoria.
@@janejones9004 I grew up 30 miles south of Miami, Florida. Yep, right next to the Everglades and the Florida Keys. I think all that sunshine ruined me for the somber, dreary days of winter. It’s not tooooo bad here in the Midwest but, if I had to live in Alaska, I’m not so sure I could do it. I need sunshine and green and flowers. I could live without the pesky mosquitoes, though. 😂🤪 We’ll get through the gloomy winter. Spring will be here before we know it. Hope your winter is short with a lot of sunshine.

Awwww I want a Beemo message hahaha! I do get SAD but usually not in the fall. It hits me in the middle of winter when I get the least amount of vitamin D. Doing a good amount of exercising (indoors and outside, while I can) has helped me a bunch and then when it gets into winter weather with less light then I'll take vitamin D to try and counteract the SAD effects.
Yeah, I definitely experience SAD in the winter as well. I take vitamin d supplements, but it can still hit me pretty hard. I feel like I was just meant to live in a climate that has warm, sunny weather year-round 😅
waw... I came to Korea August-September 2019 and seeing how empty is everything now makes me sad... but This vlog is also nostalgic. My last days there were during Chuseok and we went to Namsangol Hanok Village to enjoy the festivity. It was a great experience... I want to come back someday!
As soon I saw the area leading up to The Royal, I knew which place you were going to lol. The Royal is so good with a great view. I also went to a cafe next door.

They’re starting to turn yellow day by day~ It’ll be a while before Korea opens up more. They just opened up quarantine-free travel to fully vaccinated travelers from Singapore (you still have to present a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours before your flight) ✈️
Here in northern part of Sweden, the snow has already come! It started snowing 2 days ago 😮 But it will probably melt away soon, as usual. And then the real snow (the one that will stay )often come in December 😊
Omggg, already snow 🥶 Actually, the daytime temperature when we were out that day was 24 degrees. Two days later, it was 9 degrees and it’s still cold. Way too fast of a drop 🥶

Myeongdong was one of my favorite spots to check out. Even though it was a tourist spot, I was always able to have a good time there. It's absolutely baffling to me to see how it is now through your lens. Hope it picks up when all is better in this world. Would love to come back to Seoul and visit again.

Loved the video. So sad to see all the businesses that are no longer in business and the contrast of a gorgeous fall day and the beauty of nature and the traditional architecture. The best was the ending... a massage from Beemo. As a retired licensed massage therapist, he's really very good! And I also feel I have SAD. Here in New York, it's been unusually warm, which is nice. However, it's been horrible for my spring/fall allergies. This is the first year I have ever had to take allergy meds on a daily basis. Looking at the long-range forecast, we will either have a warm winter (with mostly rain) or a horrible cold, snowy winter. Climate change is real.
Beemo really saves my back at the end of that long day with a ton of walking 😅 Yeah, actually just two days after we filmed this, the temperature dropped from 24 to 9 degrees during the daytime. We’ve never experienced anything like it…really strange.
I used to experience really bad SAD every winter until some years ago my doctor diagnosed me having very low vitamin D levels and put me on a booster course. Now I take a daily Vitamin D tablet. I still get the gloomies this time of year but no way as bad. Anyway, loved the colour palette of this vlog.
I’ve been taking vitamin d for the last several years-I bump up my dose in the fall/winter. It’s so important-glad you got it figured out and you feel a bit better during the colder months :) And thank you ☺️

I used to live right under Namsan during winter break 2020-2021. Cable car was visible from our windows and even tho the view was beautiful, it was not worth it to climb stairs for 2 straight minutes! Also it's so weird to see Myeongdong so empty... I am in shock that some shops which were open when I was in Korea till august 2021 are gone!

I'm in the opposite camp, I get seasonal affective when we transition from spring into summer (reverse SAD). I love summer though! Something about longer days, increased pollen, humidity... it can affect some of us negatively. My anxiety flares right around may/ June.

@@NA-bp5ui Any time there is a big change, our bodies are trying to regulate again! Reverse SAD is triggered when melatonin is suppressed with the longer days.. and melatonin regulates mood and so many things!

I havent tried this 30cm ice cream before so I must make it a point to do so when I am in Seoul the next time. Ha ha there is one thing I cannot agree with you......Yes, fall is my top top top favourite season. It is a super happy season for me. I hope that you can shoot a video of the gorgeous fall sceneries. My last trip to Korea (actually to Busan and Jeju) was in Nov 2019 two months before covid hit.

Yes! Even though we know what’s coming after fall and it’s a little (well, maybe more than a little) deflating spiritually, we can still have those days when we appreciate the beautiful fall colors and atmosphere. That’s exactly how I feel, too. And, though I’m not a fan of winter with its gloominess and naked trees and gray landscapes, I still have moments when I can appreciate even cold, dreary winter. Snowfalls temporarily bring out the good vibes. Here’s to all us SAD (Seasonal Affect Disorder) people…may we have a short winter filled with people we love and a gorgeous spring. ❤️😁❤️

I have SAD since I moved to Canada, Victoria. The winters there are very gloomy and mostly overcast days. Last year I moved to Scarborough, Ontario, and I tolerated the winter much better. It is very sunny here during winter, I don't mind the chilling cold, as long as I don't have depression and migraines from lack of sun, which I did almost every winter day in Victoria.
@@janejones9004 I grew up 30 miles south of Miami, Florida. Yep, right next to the Everglades and the Florida Keys. I think all that sunshine ruined me for the somber, dreary days of winter. It’s not tooooo bad here in the Midwest but, if I had to live in Alaska, I’m not so sure I could do it. I need sunshine and green and flowers. I could live without the pesky mosquitoes, though. 😂🤪 We’ll get through the gloomy winter. Spring will be here before we know it. Hope your winter is short with a lot of sunshine.

Thank you for the video. It's been like 20 years since I visited Seoul. I used to travel for business 4-5 times a year to Seoul and would stay at The Shilla with a view of the Namsan Tower. I really miss the city and always love seeing your videos to get a glimpse of Seoul today. Looking forward to returning soon and hopefully Myeongdong will be more lively by then. Cheers.

Awwww I want a Beemo message hahaha! I do get SAD but usually not in the fall. It hits me in the middle of winter when I get the least amount of vitamin D. Doing a good amount of exercising (indoors and outside, while I can) has helped me a bunch and then when it gets into winter weather with less light then I'll take vitamin D to try and counteract the SAD effects.
Yeah, I definitely experience SAD in the winter as well. I take vitamin d supplements, but it can still hit me pretty hard. I feel like I was just meant to live in a climate that has warm, sunny weather year-round 😅
waw... I came to Korea August-September 2019 and seeing how empty is everything now makes me sad... but This vlog is also nostalgic. My last days there were during Chuseok and we went to Namsangol Hanok Village to enjoy the festivity. It was a great experience... I want to come back someday!

As soon I saw the area leading up to The Royal, I knew which place you were going to lol. The Royal is so good with a great view. I also went to a cafe next door.

They’re starting to turn yellow day by day~ It’ll be a while before Korea opens up more. They just opened up quarantine-free travel to fully vaccinated travelers from Singapore (you still have to present a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours before your flight) ✈️

Here in northern part of Sweden, the snow has already come! It started snowing 2 days ago 😮 But it will probably melt away soon, as usual. And then the real snow (the one that will stay )often come in December 😊
Omggg, already snow 🥶 Actually, the daytime temperature when we were out that day was 24 degrees. Two days later, it was 9 degrees and it’s still cold. Way too fast of a drop 🥶
@@2hearts1seoul Wow, that is a fast drop. No wonder it feels cold. It's around 2 degrees here. The degrees have to go down slowly so the body can more easily adjust. I hope you will get some warmer days, before it will get slowly colder for you 😊

Myeongdong was one of my favorite spots to check out. Even though it was a tourist spot, I was always able to have a good time there. It's absolutely baffling to me to see how it is now through your lens. Hope it picks up when all is better in this world. Would love to come back to Seoul and visit again.

Loved the video. So sad to see all the businesses that are no longer in business and the contrast of a gorgeous fall day and the beauty of nature and the traditional architecture. The best was the ending... a massage from Beemo. As a retired licensed massage therapist, he's really very good!
And I also feel I have SAD. Here in New York, it's been unusually warm, which is nice. However, it's been horrible for my spring/fall allergies. This is the first year I have ever had to take allergy meds on a daily basis. Looking at the long-range forecast, we will either have a warm winter (with mostly rain) or a horrible cold, snowy winter. Climate change is real.
Beemo really saves my back at the end of that long day with a ton of walking 😅
Yeah, actually just two days after we filmed this, the temperature dropped from 24 to 9 degrees during the daytime. We’ve never experienced anything like it…really strange.

I used to experience really bad SAD every winter until some years ago my doctor diagnosed me having very low vitamin D levels and put me on a booster course. Now I take a daily Vitamin D tablet. I still get the gloomies this time of year but no way as bad. Anyway, loved the colour palette of this vlog.
I’ve been taking vitamin d for the last several years-I bump up my dose in the fall/winter. It’s so important-glad you got it figured out and you feel a bit better during the colder months :)

I used to live right under Namsan during winter break 2020-2021. Cable car was visible from our windows and even tho the view was beautiful, it was not worth it to climb stairs for 2 straight minutes! Also it's so weird to see Myeongdong so empty... I am in shock that some shops which were open when I was in Korea till august 2021 are gone!
