Really excellent video mate. Thx very much. I have same problem here in Ghana, only problem is, I don’t have your guys with the knowledge or equipment to fix but will show the local guys this video and have them follow your steps to hopefully fix my problem.
Excellent diagnosis and problem solution. I don't have a scanner that checks transmission codes but on Gen 3 Montero the ODB2 connector on the car can be jumped between pins 8 and 1 (may be different for other than 2002 to 2006) and that should give you transfer case codes at least. All you do is turn the key to the on position (engine off) and the center diff light will start flashing in two separate sequences separated by a longer time lapse, the first is for the first digit the second for the second digit. Thank you for showing one of the possible reasons and solutions to this problem.
I have a fully working system, BUT... I want to engauge 4llc without locking the centre diff, so that I can reverse a trailer uphill with a few twists on a concrete surface. I'm wondering if I disconnect that vac hose, will that mean i can do this?
that was an easy fix. I have the same problem with my 2008. Pipelines and solenoids as OK. everything's mechanical works. I need a diag in order to troubleshoot it.
@@melbournemassageandtreatme6672 Sure. Work through the steps cause it could be anything between the actuator and the solenoids including the solenoids and actuator.
Nice to see the boys being safe, good jack and heavy duty stands.

Good video! What kind of diagnostic did you use? Here in italy they ask me 500 euro for appropriate one for pajero IV. Thank you
Have you tried pin 1 and 4 with a wire?
Hi there.
Nice video, thanks!
Just wondering.
Was that pipe seating below the car? Or in the "motor" area?!
Thanks
