I've always had a white tree with pink and red ornaments. it reminds me of a candy cane ☺️ but honestly nothing compares to the warm feeling you get from a traditional green tree with colourful ornaments!!
This is our first year ever not putting up our tree. We used to live in the south and we'd always use green, red, and fancy glass ornaments that looked like video game characters. But after we moved to the west coast we started a tradition of buying the 'ugly' ornaments and gifting new ugly ornaments to each other every year. It made the tree have so much personality and it was honestly really fun. This year though were going to have to get a very small tree or something like that because we have 6 cats in the house lol.
Wow both of those trees and ornaments sound so beautiful! I’ve always wanted to start a tradition of gifting “tacky” or “funny” ornaments so it really warms my heart to hear someone actually doing this! Also that it wayyy too funny with all the cats cause one of my cats is thoroughly obsessed with climbing and destroying the tree too 😅
We had a fake tree when I was growing but in the last 4 years we got real ones cause one of the local stores has them every year. We also love the smell of the real tree in the house. We tend have a lot of miscellaneous decorations that are stand alone. They all tend to be iridescent or reflective so no matter what colour scheme they just blend in with the main colours used. Each family member also has two with a letter for their name. One resembles gingerbread cookies the other looks like a snow globe. The tinsel is also iridescent and we have colourful lights so they end up reflecting a lot from the tinsel and decorations. It kind of ends up looking like those galaxy night lights when the lights get turned off
Wow!!! I swear the more i read about everyone’s trees the more im persuaded to think about miscellaneous ornaments! Your tree sounds so gorgeous and tbh even reading about it gives me the feeling of home (does that make sense?!)
my family used the same fake tree for almost twenty years and it was green with warm toned lights. usually we decorated it with a lot of miscellaneous ornaments (fictional characters, family ornaments, ones that my sister and i made when we were little), sheer gold ribbon, and gold beads. we got a new tree this year though bc my mom got a deal and it’s covered in fake snow so it looks frosted. we changed the color scheme of the ornaments to more silver, white, and blue bc that’s what my mom likes but we still put up a couple random ornaments that we think look cute💓💓
Wow that sounds beautiful!! It makes me think of a winter wonderland if that makes sense :’) I hope you still have the ornaments you and your sister made as kids cause those sound so special!!
I love the look of a green tree with the warm white lights but my family has always used colorful lights, the rest of them prefer the colored lights. But we also never really have a theme, all of our ornaments are heirlooms or more recent gifts from friends and family, a lot of them being handmade or gifts from around the world. Makes the tree look very chaotic but honestly it gives the tree a lot of personality and you can look at it for so long and keep seeing things you didn’t notice before. I can’t imagine having a cohesive theme for my tree at this point 😂 though they always look so pretty when they’re put together like that lol
Hi, dear!! U probably won't read this but I identify SO MUCH with all the colors you choose, they're always the same colors I would use!!! I also feel desperate with the bleeding, these damn markers!! Love your channel❤
this is my husbands favorite story to tell.. we had a real tree the first year we bought our house, and i was in one of my decluttering moods so i threw the entire tree, lights, stand and all, out the front door for him to deal with bc i was sick of cleaning pine needles 🤣🤣 so, we have a fake tree now..
I never have a real tree either - I’m allergic to pine sap and so is my mom. So never ever had one. Our ornaments are all nerdy things lol like we have pokemon, and Zelda, and dungeons and dragons etc. I wish we could send pictures in the comments 😂
Omg so it’s better for you never to have a real one!! Lowkey that’s exactly what i wished too when i was saying that about the tree!! I wish we could all share pics cause that would be so cool!! Also your tree sounds cool af
