I don't really see why people are going off on her for "telling a sob story" or "crying out of nowhere." I mean, this girl JUST turned 13 for Pete's sake and is on a big stage in front of many people. That girl was probably overwhelmed with sooooo many feelings. And when Sophia asked her a question, she gave an answer (not quite a full answer lol) but i don't think she intended for it to sound like a sob story, it was just her own story of how she got into dancing.
In the end, she danced beautifully and deserved her 4 yes's from the judges.
She's lovely and talented.

Agreed. I prefer to listen to their stories, big or small, than negative comments which never bring goodness to the world. What they have gone through translates into their performance.

there are a lot of helicopter movement and tricks for a contemporary dance, but that’s on the choreographer shes so amazing
No she didn't. 13-5=8 years. On top of that, she's VERY good, above average talent, for her age. So she's excelled in 8 years.
Talent is raw when ot is not taught. She has been taught and is still learning so no, it is not raw talent, but she is talented.
I hope she realizes that sometimes giving a child up for adoption is out of love and not wanting to abandon them. I don't know the backstory of her adoption but it seems like everything worked out in her favor and I hope she learns to understand that someday. Her adoptive parents seem wonderful and she is so very talented!

If she doesn’t win, this video audition alone will get her into Juliard
Juilliard accepts less than 200 people a year. It's a school that also does music and drama. If you look at dancing, it's also broken into tap, jazz, ballet, modern, hip hop, and a dozen other varieties. To be accepted, you also need strong academic grades. (I'm not saying she doesn't, only that I do not know.) So let's be realistic: she needs to be one of the 5 or so best lyrical dancers with good grades to have a realistic chance. Is she very good? Absolutely, especially for being only 13. Is she top 5? I'm not willing to put her into that category without seeing more performances.

I’ve been with my wife for 12 years. She had a 6 year old daughter when 8 met her. On her graduation day of high school she asked me to adopt her ! I’m also adopted. Adoption is amazing !!!

God bless these parents who picked her broken pieces and put them together and I thank them for filling the holes this world left in her heart. She is sweet and innocent child. She is beautiful and talented. Wow! I am already in love with her. These parents' love healed her. She’s just amazing and has advanced gymnastics skills. The emotions she transmits while dancing is amazing. I’d given her a golden buzzer cause I know about dancing.
It was not a gold buzzer performance sorry there was too much content in the choreography that stopped it from being a beautiful sad piece and turned it into a bit of a rushed dance and because it was so rushed you didn’t get to feel the emotion in the choreography as you should be able to in a lyrical and at times she lost connection with the performance facially.
it's not gymnastics.. it's call lyrical & acro. she was pretty good but definitely not golden buzzer material. her emotion was barely there, she probably won't even make it far because no solo dancer does on this show.

@@Tswizzlefan1996 I agree. As someone who watches a lot of national dance competitions, it wasn’t that great. Her moves were pretty basic compared to other dancers. But the judges aren’t really familiar with this style of dance so, of course they’re going to think it’s great.

Not the people who don’t have trauma and can’t relate telling her how she should be acting.. smh. Talking about triggering topics can immediately trigger emotions. Especially being in front of thousands of people.
People can be so insensitive. Obviously these are the ones who have never had their heart broken..makes you wonder how that is possible and still be human.
Everyone has trauma one way or another. No one’s life is easy. To assume there’s people who haven’t struggled at all is also ignorant.

Seeing Kelly perform this song live and her getting emotional singing it is an experience I will never forget.

Such an incredible young dancer and performer. She has such emotional connection to her dance, something that does not come naturally to all dancers. Absolutely incredible, touched my heart.
She is very talented. I don’t think she will win the whole thing, due to it being a solo dance act, BUT…she will be able to go very in life with her art.

2:28 at that moment I realized she was dancing with so much passion inside of her and this song means way more to her than we understand, for a 13-year-old she is spectacular at what she does.
Adopted? Her resemblance to her father's facial features especially the eyes is uncanny.
Her movements are very fluid like embracing passionately the space around her. Beautiful.
She knew exactly how to portray to emotions on stage, speaking from her heart with her body. She knew exactly when to look at the audience it was just amazing

This girl is unique and special. It takes a very different level of skill to become the music and she makes it look easy,.. which is isn't. This is not something that can be taught,.. she has a gift and beauty inside that shines out in her incredible performance. Utterly stunning and breathtaking, she will go far regardless of what happens with AGT. Talent she has, more than most we see.

I'd like to see her try rhythmic gymnastics, but probably not artistic gymnastics. Her dance skills would be better suited for rhythmic, even though I would LOVE to see more emphasis on dance and grace in artistic gymnastics, that's not where the sport is heading.
Dude I think they messed up giving the extra golden buzzer to the 9 yr old operatic singer. She was just ok for me & they do the golden buzzer for to many singers. But this young lady deserves a golden buzzer. She is very talented.

Its such a hard thing, for the parents who lost, to the child who doesn't know where or why they came from. after seeing so many of this years AGT acts and the seemingly lowered bar scrapping for scraps of what's left of Talent in America, I wasn't expecting much. but this.... her lines, agility, flow, balance are just amazing. I wasn't going to watch the rest of the season but I will be now. of all the golden buzzers they passed out like candy, this is the one person that I see actually deserves it.
She made me cry. She s a sweetheart. Her mom looks like the actress from the good doctor.

Her being emotional is relatable, it happened to me in an audition as well when asked about fam background lol but not this big stage and not contemp but only ballet

Breeze: I really hope you read these comments. You are SO beautiful. Your routine was absolutely terrific-and trust, I was with Bela Karolyi for 3+yrs, training for the '88 games until I was injured (quick tip: NEVER give a gymnast "time off", smh-we tend to do stupid things 😬)-I went back home for the holidays and as you might know-gymnasts ALWAYS have to be "in the gym". Actually getting a whole week "off", but still needing to work out, I went to my old gym. And was doing a trick, when I realized mid-way through a double front flip that I WASN'T at Karolyi's-and I STOPPED flipping for that millisecond when it hit me and I landed on my neck, from 13+ feet in the air.
Saying so many prayers of thanks and appreciation, because other gymnasts who have done the exact same thing (head/neck/spine injuries with extreme speed/rotation\velocity), were paralyzed 😔 and some of them actually died from it.
So LONG story short, I KNOW gymnastics and I KNOW technique. And you, my dear sweet soul, have some very EXCELLENT skills! After the injury, I went back for my last year there, as a coach. Let me tell you that you have TRUE talent. NEVER give up, no matter WHAT comes your way. Remember to rest-whenever you can and close your eyes and allow the spirit that got you here-to multiply, duplicate and SHINE.
America loves you and I also adore you. I see in you, what I spent many years to achieve. Congratulations and THANK YOU for being you. Your beautiful smile and glowing aura-that are unforgettable, combined with your obviously innate gymnastics talent, you are alREADY a STAR!!!
