I went through all of the Experion Steps and got a message saying: "We are unable to honor your request to place a security freeze on your personal credit report based on the information you entered." I called and thankfully was assisted over the phone so that my credit report is locked. This video is very helpful; I just wanted to share this experience.
Innovis did the same thing to me too
I just got that message on their website too!! So annoying!! I will try calling them as you did and hope it will be easy to get it locked. Thank you for sharing what you did 🙂
mine is the same issue, and i felt efffy about telling my ssn over the phone to someone.

Spoke with MyEquifax rep for two hours to set up login it doesn't work I talk to two different reps, Transunion force you enter debt or credit card in order to signup you show the process of login but not signup the second step to signin payment info required.

@@e-Visappt might i ask how did you sign up for the free one? it led me to where you put in your cc info which i did because i was in a rush to lock my credit report and by paying it also allow me to lock my equifax as well. but still want to be able to freeze for free
@aaashleyh4406 it seems as if no one wants to help or they don't know pertaining to the updated website of TransUnion. I'm going through the same issue. I'll call them in the morning. I'll give an update tomorrow.

Thanks, this helped a lot. You may want to update the video though, the location of some of the freeze options on the sites like experian for example are located in different places now.

Thanks Daniel, I placed a freeze on my credit reports 25 years ago and the process seems much easier now. What's really surprising is that CC company will happily send a credit card to a different address and then add that new address to your report. The system is broken. Just got a letter today for a data breach from my mortgage company.

Another one of your videos goes into you set up a business checking account and you decided to go with Wyoming for ACH transfers. Was it because WY was the easiest? I have a very small business in real estate renting out one property. Which state would be the easiest to do consider through a real estate lens? Can you do a video on which states are the easiest to do for a certain very small business/side hustle - what forms I need, how much, is it a one time thing or a yearly maintenance kind of thing? I heard an LLC rather than a corporation was much easier. Did you from a corporation or LLC?
Thank you! LOL I picked Wyoming because it has almost no taxes on small businesses that make less than $250k/year. The taxes are about $50/year in some type of filing (if you do it yourself) but I pay a service $150/yr which also keeps my details anonymous. I formed a single-member LLC (which is treated almost the same as a sole-proprietorship).
I'm still new to the whole business side of things so I'm not an authority on the differences on how you should incorporate a business. I know there are different tax benefits for each one, but if you want to keep things simple an LLC is the way to go.
I will have a video soon on "how to start a business" for all the banking benefits (cash bonuses and credit cards) and will share what I know.
I use www.wyomingagents.com/ and it's $150 to set up and LLC and they provide you a physical Wyoming business address. Annually, there's a $152 Wyoming annual report charge to keep your business filing active in Wyoming. You could do it yourself for $52, but then lose the anonymity.

Thanks! Yes, it is possible. There should be a Transunion support number if you can't create an account online.
Thanks! I tried all 3. Transunion gives me the access denied.. The other 2 are a success! Is 2 of them being frozen would be enough for protection against identity theft?

Good question. Depending on the state you're applying in, the same bank might pull different reports. I am too lazy to research that so I just unfreeze all 3 reports for 2 days.

i have an account with experian and i have frozen my credit report after i received bank cards via mail. do i need to freeze my credit report with transunion and equifax even if i don't have an account with those 2?
Transunion changed their website. Can you give an update on them? I can't seem to do it with them.

Same thing here. I think all of them are trying to make it harder to freeze so you don't do it. They figure you won't sign up for new credit cards if its too easy to freeze.

Let's say i want to buy 1k $ worth of bitcoins and just leave them on coinbase for a year or two, so do i have to pay monthly or annual fees for that ?
No monthly fees and no maintenance fees. If it's Bitcoin on Coinbase, I would recommend using Coinbase Vault to lock it up

Keep clicking around the site it eventually sends you to a page where you don’t have to pay. If you clicked the first option in the browser it’s an add to sell you a membership

Experian said “We were unable to honor your request to place a security freeze on your personal credit report based on the information you entered”. Then they go on to request documents sent by mail with my full name, ssn, dob, current address, previous address, a copy of a govt ID, and a utility bill, bank or insurance statement! That’s BS! Why? I entered what they requested!

As of today Transunion has now moved to the manipulative practices. As you are creating an account it tries to make you pay $29.95 for credit monitoring. Even while you are trying to just create an account. They are all scams within itself.
I called and the agent walked me through all three of them
In 2024... Experian claims now they no longer need to provide a PIN Code to unfreeze the user's account. They know who is logged onto their Website. They ALSO claim the page you need to fill out with your personal information (and generate the PIN) is no longer needed as well. You just simply FREEZE (or UNFREEZE) the file with one click, and it is done.
But if hackers have all the personal info about me, can't they just login to the credit bureaus and unfreeze it?
Specially since the latest Tmobile breach were they got basically all the personal info in order for them to have access and change security settings everywhere.

What should you do after a stock market crash?
I would buy stocks by using the "Dollar cost average" strategy. Once a week buy some stocks. That's what I plan to do if there's another one
Take advantage of the sale and buy more. I have VTSAX, a Vangurad total stock market .04% cost index fund. So far made about $1000 in 6mo at $400/mo. So unless hundreds of stocks go to zero all at the same time which is really unlikely, I dollar cost average get the sale until you meet your goal. Mine is saving to buy a second apartment. When I meet My goal, that is the only time I sell.
Me, I like easy and being able to sleep at night. I don't trade. Dollar cost averaging, low cost index mutual funds like at Vanguard -VTSAX-, Schwab, or Fidelity are the way to go. And just keep investing till you reach your goal no matter what crazy Mr. Market does. That is how I do it.
So yes, you could trade and maybe make more. You could also lose your rent money and be SOL trading too.

I got the same message but when I called the 800 number, they did it for me over the phone, and it worked just fine.

How does freezing your credit protect you from identity theft? Some can still commit crimes and provide your credentials right?
If someone gets your personal information, they can't apply for loans and credit cards using your info.

just signed up for transunion and paid for the membership because it allowed me to lock both transunion and equifax
If you freeze it with one the others will freeze as well. One will let the others know
FWIW : Transunion - very easy. Equifax - pretty easy, especially with your guide. Experian - "We were unable to honor your request" and wanted me to snail mail security freeze request to Allen, TX. 🙄

TransUnion will not let me create an account unless I provide them with a credit card number. Is there a way I can create and account with them without having to provide a credit card number? I want to temporarily freeze my credit.
Go to freeze credit report at bottom of the page and it will let you create a free account. It will charge your credit score though.

Hey Dan, Transunion straight up asking for credit card info to create an account at the end of step 2, and will not let me proceed on to the 3rd and final stage in order to see my "FREE" credit score, talk about to extorting a pound of flesh............ That's bullshit!!! Did this happen to you when you applied for a free credit score from them???
Update: I guess someone caught wind of your upload because they not only were they trying to scam me into getting my credit card info to charge me, then I had to call in, and after all that crap when I tried to see my credit score, they were trying to charge me for it. Though they did let me see my credit report, but I wanted to see my credit score with them, oh well..... Now they have all my info, and will no undoubtedly harass me via phone and email for ever!!! SUCKS the hard one, though I know the end goal was to freeze credit.
thats what happend to me last night, i just paid for the membership and lock my transunion and equifax credit report, Experian was giving me issue when signing up. US needs to do better with ssn security.
