It sounds like you could use a lightweight cardigan as an over pieces. I use them over my dresses especially for indoors and for covering shoulders to be more "professional" I love your single pieces. I liven in single pieces only especially for or NYC summers.

So vital! It's all a guideline, formulas are really good to get you started but the more you define your style, the less you need them. Kinda like recipes! The better cook you become, the less you need them.

One more comment to say...I think a great addition to this capsule would be a pair of flowy linen pants in its natural (unbleached) flax color (ecru). Or perhaps cotton joggers in a very light beige/tan. It would match all the tops: black, white, peach, and olive, and give you a different hemline from the shorts and skirts.
I had a pair like that a few years ago but they were super cheap and wore down really fast, but yes!!! I should find another one. They were great and super comfortable!
@@vazq_Fernanda Yes! I like flowy linen pants because they are breathable but give me leg coverage in case I have to go to a place where I need to dress more modestly. I also have a beautiful pareo (sarong) that I wrap around my waist or drape over my head and shoulders when I enter a religious building. I never travel without a huge multi-purpose scarf!

I have to ask...now that you've put more natural materials in your wardrobe, how do you deal with all the ironing (linen, cotton) and steaming (silk)??? I have lots of natural materials but find all the wrinkles a bit much with my busy schedule.
Great question. I find that what really causes the wrinkles is the pressure that is applied on the clothes. So, if my drawers are stuffed, or if I stack clothes instead of doing the "Marie Kondo Bookshelf Fold", they wrinkle more easily, but with just a few pieces there's very little pressure on the clothes so they don't wrinkle so much. For really finicky light-weight materials (like the green silk top), those I either hang OR I spray them with a bit of water and have them in the bathroom while I'm taking a shower, that usually does it.

When I saw how you had done, I got the inspiration and the ideas so that I could finish it! I have 33 items, including shoes, outerwear and 1 cardigan. My colors are white, cream, black, and some red and blue. I only have a few patterns, mostly solids. I have included 5 dresses, 1 skirt, 2 shorts, some linen trousers, jeans, t-shirts and linen shirts. I am looking forward to your outfit combinations! I would also like to see a modest capsule. It could be interesting.
Oh my Fernanda, that bag is gorgeous and I'm not a bag person (totally a shoe person though). Your capsule is very well thought out, practical and appropriate to warm/hot weather. Those new shorts and white sleeveless shirt are so lovely. As we are heading into winter in Australia I look to your previous videos for inspiration and will do so when spring/summer rolls around with this one. I agree I can struggle pairing this color as well. I found a pale rose, gray, neutral, and denim went well. White works but black and navy were to dark on dark for me (I'm a peaches n' cream complexion). Have fun and hope this helps😊

I'll add it to the list! I'm not sure how many pieces there are actually, I've never counted. I mostly go by needs. It's like... 3 spagetti strap tops, two Tshirts, I would count my blue jeans in there, a pair of camel high-heeled sandals, a pair of black booties, and a grey pullover. I think that's it. It's all neutrals, mostly black, white, grey. I can make a video on this!

You know what? Now that you mention it, yes, it does! I usually lightly steam my linen clothes before I put them on, but I don't feel the need to do that with those shorts.
Fernanda, some videos ago, I speculated that perhaps you had an olive undertone. But if you feel fantastic in the mossy green, burnt peach, and yellow pieces you selected here...chances are you're NOT olive. I am, without a doubt, "aceitunita" despite my light skin depth, and those 3 colors make me look like a corpse, especially the salmon-pink and the khaki green.
I'm still not sure... I think you are on the right track with me being olive, but perhaps a brighter tone. I love that mossy green because it's really warm, but I do notice that the peach is not the best on me. But I love the color! You can see the difference in the outfits video - I feel like the blues, greens, deep purple really work and the browns not so much. I should get a professional assessment...
I don't think I could only have two pairs of shoes! Won't you miss sandals? I'm currently doing project 333, 2 months in - I think I could do with less pieces, but 15 seems like a stretch! I'm not ready for that yet. I do enjoy having less choices, it makes it easier to get ready in the morning.
I cut out the part where I talked about the sandals. So, I discovered last year that wearing sandals in NYC is a little risky, you never know what you’re gonna step on or who will step on you. For the record, this is not ALL I wear for three months (I still have a few other basics, maybe 10?) that don’t make it into my seasonal capsule but are year round staples. Jeans, tank tops, those kinds of things. But project 333 is what got me started, and this is the best way I have found to make sure I have all my bases covered for every season! When I was doing 33, I shopped more than I actually wore.
Phew! I was glad to see this reply. I was thinking I could never achieve such a small wardrobe. I live in the northeast so sweaters in the office and rain gear on the weekends are a must.
@@vazq_Fernanda The way I do it currently, is to wear trainers during my commute and change into my "good" shoes or sandals there. That way my shoes stay clean and I don't wear them out as fast. And for bags: I just got the Fossil Camilla bag, and I love it! It's 3 bags into one: handbag, shoulder bag & backpack. Very good for capsule wardrobes!
How cropped is it? Does it hit at your waist, or higher? Mine is a cropped cut at the waist, I purposely chose it that way cause I think it's more flattering!

Yes! It's your wardrobe so whatever YOU like, its ok. I do recommend some pattern because it gives a little bit of interest to the outfits, but they don't have to be loud, or in large garments. A scarf, the band of a hat, a thin belt with a pattern or texture can do wonders!

It's something about this specific pair of shoes that hasn't gotten super dirty, but also I got these last fall and I have been mostly at home for the last year, so I guess it's because I haven't walked in many dirty areas since then.
I used get everything altered (until she retired). They can be brought in on the side seams. And because they are stretchy, even darts in the back would lay flat and not be prone to puckering. Of course, it all depends on the quality of the material and make. (I have stretch Eileen Fisher pants that are so cheaply made I only wear them now at a dance class). A good seamstress would know.

I have three uncles who served in the Army and we consider ourselves to be a very proud military family. While all of them would agree that Memorial Day is a day to honor their fallen comrades, they would also tell you that celebrating life events (including little things like the change in season) IS the reason they chose to serve their country in the first place! Our society absolutely does consider Memorial Day weekend the "unofficial" start to summer and there is nothing insensitive about saying that in the context you used, one does not take away from the other, I assure you. I absolutely love your videos and your upbeat attitude!

I appreciate the colors they’re lovely, but why are all the separate pieces dated? Like the tops have dated u necklines no puff sleeves? No sweetheart necklines? Nothing new. And the shorts are loud and printed, leopard is over down and out of style already. Was it deliberate?
Interesting that you say that because 3 of the four tops I got in the last year, but I don’t do this to be trendy, I do it because it’s a clear reflection of my own personal style. Trendy pieces look very in for a short period of time, and then they become waste when we stop wearing them, but pieces that we personally like and are comfortable wearing for a long time we keep for longer. I don’t like puff sleeves. My channel is not about trends, it’s about personal style.

I don’t like Sezane because it’s not size inclusive. I’m a US M/L and can’t fit anything from this brand. This is elitist and snobby, they don’t want larger women wearing their clothes. The average US woman is size 16, I’m a 12.

The pattern on those shorts probably deals with my least favorite thing about linen - the pattern probably hides the wrinkles

I appreciate the colors they’re lovely, but why are all the separate pieces dated? Like the tops have dated u necklines no puff sleeves? No sweetheart necklines? Nothing new. And the shorts are loud and printed, leopard is over down and out of style already. Was it deliberate?
Interesting that you say that because 3 of the four tops I got in the last year, but I don’t do this to be trendy, I do it because it’s a clear reflection of my own personal style. Trendy pieces look very in for a short period of time, and then they become waste when we stop wearing them, but pieces that we personally like and are comfortable wearing for a long time we keep for longer. I don’t like puff sleeves. My channel is not about trends, it’s about personal style.

Your opening statement stopped me in my tracks. Memorial Day means so much to many of us and it has NOTHING to do with summer clothes! Educate yourself to what it REALLY means and please do not use that explanation ever again.
Hi Theresa. I misspoke in the video, the mistake was pointed out to me earlier and I apologized the insensitive choice of words. Of course Memorial Day is not about clothes. I’m sorry your feelings were hurt, that was not my intention in the least. ❤️
I don’t like Sezane because it’s not size inclusive. I’m a US M/L and can’t fit anything from this brand. This is elitist and snobby, they don’t want larger women wearing their clothes. The average US woman is size 16, I’m a 12.
