Don’t get me wrong, all of your content is fabulous, but man, what’s better than sharing amazingly beautiful fine sporting guns! Especially in the black plastic fantastic era of today. 👍🏼👍🏼
I might be wrong but there isn't too much black plastic is there? I mean there is the new B525 composite and many semi autos are also plastic but the majority seem to be wood. please correct me if I am wrong!
I totally agree with what you’ve said, Simon and Johnny I’ve just finished restored my AYA from 1983. I bought it for peanuts she was rusty dented and it’s now back to a superb condition. It’s been a labour of love. It’s cost more than what the Gun is worth but I’ve loved every minute 👍
I just bought a brand new 20ga AH Fox CE grade boxlock from your friends at Connecticut Shotgun. As you know they do traditional bone and charcoal color case hardening and this gun has very nice blues, yellows, and greens. PS the next time you’re in the States you might want to get in touch with Turnbull Restoration in New York State, they’re famous for their color case hardening and it would make a great episode on what goes into restoring a gun to like new condition. They were on an episode of How It’s Made. Great stuff as always Jonny!
Hey Johnny, the German gun you showed might be a William Forster or at least made by someone under his employ. I own one in 16. There are some features that are identical to mine. Horn tigger guard, safety, engraving on barrels, forend. I find it stunning. Being a 16 too it’s light, nimble and almost delicate to use. Bought it for a steal too. Didn’t need it at all but fell in love with it.
On gun finishes: even though I'm European, I grew up watching a lot of videos about American guns with glossy blue finishes (early M1911s, Colt Pythons, classic S&Ws), so that looks proper to me. If it was up to me, modern guns would be high polish with a deep black DLC coating on top!
Hi Johnny thanks yet another great video! I'm about 10 minutes in and want to give you a tech heads up. I don't know if it's the mic your using or settings but I'm catching a bit of what sounds like line noise in the background. I only mention it because your video with I think the Edwards Eyewear also have it making me think that maybe one of your mics is getting ready to give problems. Hope this helps!
Well, whilst we're on the subject, a gin martini stirred and with a twist of lemon for me please I'm not sure a weak vodka martini (consequence of shaking over ice) ordered with a hint of superiority is going to cut it tbh
Big fan for case color harding for a side by side but not so much for an over and under i think a good classy side by side color case it just needs on it other ist just a normal side by side
I'd love to see a video where you come to the southern United States, do some hunting for whitetail deer, black bear, coyote, or whatever, and see how it compares to hunting in the UK (and the rest of Europe). I don't know if that's a type of content you would like to have on your channel, or something that your main audience would enjoy, but gun culture and hunting culture are deeply entwined. Also, I believe that we would notice a lot of similarities between hunters from across the pond. The stereotype in America is that all hunters are drunken hillbillies who'd shoot at anything that moved, but hunters are a lot more diverse than that.
Please tell us we can expect a Holts walkthrough for the December 24 Auction. The small short videos Holts is posting themselves are incredible boring.
Love it when the holts videos come round again. Could listen to you and Simon gush about guns all day. Look forward to the sealed bid film.
My favorite type of videos on this site

Nice guns, I like the case color hardening, including the new versions.
I like the case colour hardening look. Didn't know it was a thing till now.

Another great video! I would not mind anyone of the three Simon selected.
Great video, thanks for sharing. Please could you tell me what the glasses you are wearing are? It would be greatly appreciated!
2 things I’d love to see added to the holts site is a filter for country of manufacture and a cast filter!
A superb video. Love it!
I wondered if you'd cover Mansell's kit. Nice one. I guess that 686 just went up in price a little 😂
great to see simon again, the lost james bond

Jonny, A question if you please
Would you be happy shooting a shotgun with barrel thickness of 0.013"?
That's the gun you have just gushed over...
Literally marking down lots for the sealed bid sale and this pops up lol

Do you have any other kinds of guns? What other guns are popular in Britain? Can you have bolt, pump, auto, or lever action?
Damn it if I had some money I’d be pouncing on that UGB25 been searching forever for one
Nice guns good video😊
