As someone who got back into the hobby with 151 - and spent a fortune doing so - I'm hoping a Johto set is in the works, maybe a return of base set's holo pattern? I hope Pokemon Company are taking notes and lean into 151's success.
I really do think 151 started something that we don’t fully understand the ramifications of in the collectors side of the market. SOOO many people came back to collecting because of 151. Only time will tell, but I think in a few years we will see it BIG.

Don’t just reprint stuff to the point where it has no value and people get tired of it. That’s not fun either. Like, a Gen 2 version of 151 would do AMAZINGLY well as well!
151 got this millenial 30+ back into Pokemon. I played with the base set. So I like 151 to re-enter the scene. Now I'd like 251 / gen 2 in the same style. Gen 1 and 2 were my days a kid. Nostalgia hits hard.
Booster Bundle was available 3-4 days on Best Buy and 2-3 days on Target. Sold out now. I think this is perfect. When the restocks happen everyone has a chance. This is why big stores and LGS are needed. If there were only LGS we wouldnt have opportunity to get it for retail.
The metal mew brings down the collection goals because the Mew Ex gold card in the premium collection is a metal card which would be unplayable in the TCG making the gold card actually have value in competitive but not as much in the collectible
My daughter got me back into the hobby a few years ago. 151 solidified the addiction. We finished our master set a couple weeks ago and luckily bought at low price points

The Kanto effect is extremely strong in this and then combine that with the amazing artworks of S&V tcg era. Those two things together and we have this absolutely amazing set.
this set is kindof having the same effect celebrations had for the causal collectors. Ive seen so many kids and their parents buying this set to complete a binder and looking for singles. All 151 product still goes relatively quick in my area while most other sets still sit on the shelves.

I’d be another $1k closer to a Mario and Luigi pikachu promo. I haven’t opened any 151 since my kids are not into Pokémon anymore. We started collecting during SWSH boom, so our memories for pokemon are made pulling Moonbreon, Shining Fates Charizard, Giratina V alt art, having all the eeveelution alt arts, Gengar Vmax, etc. They are all going into a memory box in the basement along with all my sealed booster boxes from SWSH and will be revisited when my kids are grown adults.
I started collecting a few months ago and just in the last two weeks started selling my duplicates and just wanted to say all your videos and knowledge helped me so much with shipping and selling. Super appreciative!
Speaking of product availability, I just bought 10 more poster collections at my Target last week, they had a restock. There was also a restock of booster bundles on Target online this week and I got 3 of those (the limit, could have ordered multiple times, but tried to exercise a LITTLE restraint :) )

Not surprised on 151. Easily the most anticipated set in the last decade. Keeping current and new fans happy but also captivating the "Gen 1ers" into buying the set. Price retention was seemingly inevitable.
For me im loving illustration rare cards now im back into the hobby, so i picked up some random cheap in korean or Japanese if its significantly lower so at least i have some collection building for my binder 🎉 I also find that some of those cards are double the price on many UK selling sites.
151 definitely has more value than the other sets of S&V but do you ever see any of these newer sets containing a card that exceeds or matches the value of those cards in S&S? Seems like every big card settles at most $120 or $130 but evolving skies and a few other sets have cards exceeding $200 per… think those days are behind us with the amount of product being produced?

I’d buy strictly 151 for a long term hold almost have a master set reverse and all. 2 zards from 151 makes up for loosing my old zard collection in storage I had like 12 baseset zards from shadowless 1st edition to unlimited! Idk maybe a few boxes of fusion strike and Japanese 151 booster boxes !
I just came back into the hobby after 20 years when my kids got into it. Just happen to come back in a little after the release of 151 but it is by far my favorite sv set. I do enjoy paradox rift but mainly because ky favorite card in that set is the groudon, still trying to pull it haha
Mastered in about 10 weeks from release! - I’m 33 so it absolutely hit me with an enormous nostalgic wave, hadn’t opened a pack in about 20+ years.. was so much fun! Incredible set :D

Some things like certain characters i have nost of their cards like bulba, snorlax for the wife (expensive lol) eevee for our daughter, and a few ithers. But NEVER cared to EVER master a set. Rip for fun, keep good pulls. Sure. But 151...maaaan. it was like insane. I was hooked. I HAD to have every card. It even had a BINDER to start me off. Gave you everything you needed to start. Found myself chasing REVERSE HOLOS. like who does that!!?? ME! Lmao. This set is amazing. First EVER set ive completed. Hope they do something else like this with the other gens. Ill def want em all!!
In a bizarre twist of coincidence, I pulled the SIR Charizard EX from SV 151 today! I bought 4 UPC's, two at release day and 2 during the TikTok shop coupon craze. I just opened UPC #3 and have been opening a few packs a day. Today I opened 4 and first pack got the zard. I made the same face as when you pulled my Shining Fates zard on stream last week, hahahaha.
Just wait till some big news happens with Pokemon, could be 30 yr anniversary maybe a new game maybe a big UA-camr pumps it and thousands come back to find out they missed out on 151 📈
The reason why a new set dips is because collectors don't want 80% of the cards. THIS SET, 151, has bangers from #1 to the final card. That's why. It's cards people WANT. If they did this for gen 2, gen 3, they'd see many more older collectors come back to also start collecting again. Some of us don't want the new crystal head cards. We just want some OG redesigns, done right. Not a REPRINT. A redesign.
I opened too much SV 151 personally haha. After the holidays i got a couple more booster bundles of it and got a couple dupes. As you say, the fun cost is not there. Singles for me now. Well maybe black friday this year will have some fun for me
You should change the “Price Drop” in your presentation to “Price Change” since there’s usually a mix of increases and decreases. 151 is an awesome set, I’m four cards away from a master set and pulled about 96% myself.
I think the Japanese 151 version is on the rise as well, will thay affect the english version or are the sets usually unaffected by the different languages?
The prices for 151 cards are going to get crushed over the next 2 years as interest wears off and new sets release. It is printing money for Pokemon right now, so we're going to continue to get slammed with waves of product. The best time to buy is definitely NOT now.
They need to give every generation this same treatment. Gen 2 for me would hit almost as hard as gen 1.

The pull rates are horrible. Opened 5 ETBS and multiples of every product and have 2 Tangelas and a Psyduck to show for it.
