    As for durability on the TRIGGER 4 Pro I'm likely not pushing it enough, or else it's just a really durable stick. I use a TRIGGER 4 Pro 75 FLEX P29 + 1" CCM carbon extension ~5 days a week for practice in the backyard in the evening; I usually do 4 x buckets of 75 pucks - wrists, snaps, saucers and clappers (of ~75 mph) as well as the daily toying around of "catch/rotate the puck in the air".
    Is 75 clappers (of ~75 mph) ~5 days a week for a couple of months enough to break a stick? It's about 3.000 shots .. I realize there's a gap to 85 mph but still, it's a decent amount of power put through that stick.
    I started practice end of the previous season in April '22, and have to say that the TRIGGER 4 Pro holds up extremely well; basically don't see any wear on the blade, likely attributed to frequent change of tape and wax .. but it's amazing how well it holds up. I check the rigidity of the blade now and then, and it's still very stiff. While the TRIGGER 6 Pro definitely is a great stick as well (I use a TRIGGER 6 Pro 85 FLEX P29 + 1" CCM carbon extension), it's noticeably heavier than the TRIGGER 4 Pro in a similar setup. I see the 4 Pro being one of the best sticks ever coming out of CCM and I'm actually sourcing another example from a swedish online retailer.
    As the for FT3 Pro as mentioned in this video, it's a completely different story; extremely lightweight but definitely not durable.

      Trigger 4 was solid. The 5 went down hill and then the 6 back to 4 glory days. The 4 was highly rated by most. 75 is a solid shot!! That will take a stick out after awhile for sure. Sometimes a generation or two changes and the stick that everyone loves is gone in this case the trigger 4 is one of everyone’s favs

    Went to the local store the other day (RexHockey in Copenhagen) and checked out the FT5 Pro vs. the FT4 Pro, and AS4 Pro as well (same flexes and curve profiles); the FT5 Pro definitely feels like it's a sturdier construction, much like the progression from the Trigger 5 Pro to the Trigger 6 Pro. I am still rating the Trigger 4 Pro as one of the best CCM stick I've used but it's getting impossible to scoop up this stick these days.
    As for the AS4 Pro, then the mid kick flex felt quite nice with the overall stiffer bottom of the shaft, better than the hybrid of the FT Pro series imo.

      @@beerleaguebumhockeyreviews sorry for the late follow-up; switched to the FT5P a couple of months ago and managed to bond well with the stick, although it did take some time to get used to the hybrid flex (coming from a T6P low kicker .. the release difference is significant). Well, finally broke the blade the other day and am on the fence whether I should stick with the T7P or order new FT5Ps as it's been a very nice experience (should have gotten two identical sticks previously, so there's a mental note if there ever was one).
      I heard rumours of CCM releasing new products in june '23 (definitely pants which is nice as the FT4 Pro pant has been basically impossible to get anywhere). I kind of hope CCM's releasing sticks with a bit lighter weight profile in the '23/24 season; don't need much but a bit lighter profile would be nice.

    I’m at such a dilemma that I have been using 70 flex stick Bauer Flylite for the past season and I’m at around 75-77kg and since I cut my sticks a little shorter than most the flex still goes up. Since it’s quite a flexie stick it kind of sucks on one timers and harder passes so I am really thinking should I step up a flex rating… would your 2 cents on that matter.

I found the weight difference between the FT3 Pro and the FT5 Pro quite significant, and the additional weight in the blade and lower part of the connecting part of the FT5 Pro stick makes for a quite different balance .. definitely noticeable in the shop, but less so during actual game.
    With the added grams of material on the FT5 Pro, do you play with the same flex as the FT4 Pro or did you shave off 5 FLEX ratings?

The Bauer Vapor / Hyperlite series of sticks has that horribly stiff pingy curve that makes pucks bounce off my blade when I try to catch passes, I hate that. I won't be taking many shots if I can't catch passes. Yet people only want to talk about forehand shooting. Why not incorporate footage of stickhandling and backhands into your video? • @louiefriesen
      @louiefriesen 2 роки тому +4

      Not in durability tho. The HyperLite, which is (claimed) 5g lighter than the FlyLite is much less durable. So my guess is that the Sync is gonna be pretty fragile.
      And remember, it's not just about weight, it's also about shot power and puck feel. You can really only have two of these three: Shot power, puck feel, durability. The Trigger 5 Pro was 365g, but it felt like it had no blade, and was ridiculously hard to load. It also had terrible durability. The Trigger 6, which is around 390g, is a far better stick.

    • @daddydubz88
      @daddydubz88 2 роки тому +1

      Less weight doesn't always mean better. Less weight usually means less durability. The Bauer Hyperlite and CCM FT3Pro are very good examples of this. Sorry but if I'm paying $300+ USD for a stick in a period of inflation and recession the thing better last!

    From what I've seen of your clips, your playing style seems to be an opportunistic sniper. I never see you take more than 2 strides before taking a shot. So that's probably why you never take backhands or stickhandle. I think you should make it clear that this is the style of player that you are. So if someone wants to play defense like Cale Makar and stickhandle everywhere or if they want to take backhands like Patrick Kane, your reviews might not be relevant to them.

      I would suggest due to their age sticking with something like a Rekker, ( if they make junior) or a stick below top teir for better durability so you aren’t picking up a new stick so often. Sometimes it’s hard as a parent when your kid wants the latest and greatest!
