@@73Trident Yeah, McHale has a way of relaxing people. His interview with Bird was the same way. A conversation between friends. And Bird seems reeeeaallly guarded in his public persona but Mac loosened him up, too. Big prop's to Garnett. His head is on straight (connected to his heart).
The respect that KG has for Mac as someone who helped him through his professional life is evident. KG ,Matt and Stacks are peers and the settings of both interviews are different.
You gotta understand , a african american lives in two worlds , the african american circle , and the mainstream world . You know i left out the slang terms when i said that. Just like the hispanics we live some in the spanish speaking world some in the english speaking world.
Two of the best power forwards in NBA history and us C's fans are very lucky to have seen these two win championships in Boston. I'd love to see KG spend time with Robert Williams on his game.
Damn that game 7 2010 finals ..was sooooo close just a bucket or a stop ..celts deserved a second ring then for the consistency n fight they showed for few seasons. Kudos to that group .. was nice to b in the Garden for his jersey ceremony.
thks for posting this. Now I got it his decision to retire as a player before his contract expired. But no matter what, KG s always gonna be a role model and my favorite basketball player.
Great interview between two legends of the game. As a Laker fan during the great Magic and Bird era, I eagerly watched the Celtics on Sundays when they played the laker snd the Sixers. Hoste;y, I didn't like the Celtics but respected them. After I saw McHale's hilarious HOF speech, I respected him and liked him even more. The respect these two have for each other is apparent during this interview and it's I refreshing to see. I hope the league returns to basketball and removes all of the politics that have engulfed the NBA.
My top ten favorite . He was a great player no doubt about that... great skills , competes every night. But it's KG's old school values that set him apart...
This interview and their relationship are exactly what "Paying it Forward" is about. McHale was a monster and obviously saw something special in Garnett. This is the beauty of sports.
From my experience watching interviews and such of him, he'll put on a persona most of the time but that's peer pressure, but when he's one on one and feels comfortable he's very insightful and actually quite wise. Comes across as a guy who's had a rough life too.
I see my boys playing with retro teams on NBA 2K20 screaming "get it to KG" and I'm glad they at least get to experience his greatness on there... because i got to experience it live.
You see the guy giving the interview? He was unstoppable at times and deserves to be on the list, just listen to his peers who had to guard him, McHale was a nightmare to defend and was tough defensively too
I am the biggest KG fan ever but not sure what he's talking about when he says they had a 20+ point lead in game 7 lol. They did have a 13 point lead at one point which they still shouldn't have blown, but it never got past 13. Had they had blown a 20 point lead in game 7 of a finals, then that game would've been talked about wayyy differently as one of the all time choke jobs in sports history
26:39 "AU has killed our league" is what I heard. What did KG mean? This is one intense person. I saw KG at one Celtics game at the Garden. Only time I can genuinely say I was in awe of someone. They Celtics come out for the shoot around, there's some military band in the center of the court, and there's Tommy Heinsohn doing a broadcast. There's Paul Pierce -- yeah seen him a bunch of times on TV. There's Rajon Rondo .. yeah seen him a lot too. But then Kevin Garnett comes on the court and I am like ... "OMG... that's Kevin Garnett... it's really him... in person!" It was like that.
I remember the day I heard on EEI tgat the Celtics were after KG I thought man that’d be awesome but there’s no way that’ll ever happen. Then it did and I knew the Celtics would be champions again.
I hope to see KG back in the Wolves with different role. The organization and the city needs his energy, leadership and personality so badly. Minnesota loves KG.
Offensively , McHale. Defensively, KG, but both were above average McHale defense KG offense. It's a toss up but I would choose McHale personally because he was freaky unstoppable at times and could score at will
TOTALLY WRONG YOU SAID * I lived in a house with my mama ...It's a huge villa, not less than 300mq= 5 flats... * In the new house I see people with THINGS * U are super competitive ThEy teach u to be SUPER COMPETITIVE, but people who suffer of competition are never right with themselves, so they want always someTHING more= they have everything they dont need to fullfill their life * So in ur case, basketball player= play every 2 days is anti humanity... NOT SUPER HUMAN/COMPETITIVE, so to have results they stimulate u with competition (they dont have time or want TO TEACH U everything in the business) * SO IN THE END U SAY I HAD EVERYTHING I NEEDED (after 3 min???)
2 Kevins. All-time great players and all time great competitors.
The respect these guys have for each other is off the scale...
A conversation between friends.

True dat! That's why I gave you a GREAT, BIG, HUMONGOUS "thumb's up" for saying that!!!
I like that
Allielua
Mchale was a beast this guy played with broken bones. Dont let the suit an smile fool you mchale was something special.
The Black Hole, who had a fantastic Torture Chamber.
My favorite athlete of all time. Much love for KG. Damn they don't come like him anymore.
KG shows a lot of respect, and that's what the kids need to learn.
The contrast on how KG speaks here versus on how he speaks on All The Smoke is hilarious.
The same except no cussing. They also worked together in a formative time in his life.
Well that’s you speak in front of your parents, no cussing, even if they cuss lol
The respect that KG has for Mac as someone who helped him through his professional life is evident. KG ,Matt and Stacks are peers and the settings of both interviews are different.
It's not different other than less cussing...a bit more composed because it's one on one. Not like his voice is whitewashed and he's acting scary lol
You gotta understand , a african american lives in two worlds , the african american circle , and the mainstream world . You know i left out the slang terms when i said that. Just like the hispanics we live some in the spanish speaking world some in the english speaking world.
KG is a legend, and McHale is an incredible interviewer (and player lol)
Lol, both Celtic legends!
Check out his highlights. Kevin McHale was the truth on the low post.
Wrong both our legends
I just love his passion. Look at his passion during this interview after so many years.
The Big Ticket baby one of the Greatest... Go CELTICS
DeChane Grinton..... of all time??? That’s debatable! I think the other Kevin in this video might have something to say about that.
Bleed Green.....KG, Kevin McHale, Rodman, Barkley, Duncan, Webber, Wallace, Kemp, Colman. This is some pretty nice company.
His interviews are just as intense as him on the court
What a Heart ❤️ Kevin is the absolute reason why ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE 😘❤️🥰
KG's mom did an epic good job!! It's the all American dream come true. As a celts fan.. I will never forget KG's F bomb in the victory speach.. lol ☝
thanks for the upload ! KG is such a great guy

I'd love to see KG spend time with Robert Williams on his game.
Jus thankful for the blood sweat and tears you gave us here in Boston!!! will forever love you man your a legend here in the city
great interview! love that he mentioned jamal mashburn and of course malik sealey

KG is the best that there ever was! Go Wolves!!!!!
The last era of a true OG in the NBA.
We need an analyst show called “the Kevin’s,” with these two breakin down nba games........ with guests
Genius
that 2010 finals loss hurts to this very day...
Love that KG pretended to be 6'11" despite being over 7ft.....because he did not want to play centre.
Barefoot he’s probably 6’10-11..... with shoes 7fter
@@dennisjr77 He is def a legit 6'11 without shoes.
He’s 7 foot for sure he’s barely shorter than Shaq
Timmy D did that also. When people asked him his height he'd say he was 6'12 xD
Great interview between two of basketball's greatest of all-time!
This was a good 1on1 interview
KG is one humble person filled with good knowledge
Man these two Kevin’s will go full circle at the 2020 HOF
What a great interview
My top ten favorite . He was a great player no doubt about that... great skills , competes every night. But it's KG's old school values that set him apart...
Kevin you have always been my favorite person, not just basketball player. Classic
Didn't realize KG is so smart and well-spoken. He was a stud when he got drafted. But wow! So humble. I'm such a douche for judging him. HOF Top 75
He’s top 50
He's top 25. He was no. 22 in the Book of Basketball.
Big Ticket is definitely top 50!
Top 30
top 25-30 is where i have him. i would like OP to list the 74 players better than KG lol
Missing a parent scars a person forever until there's forgiveness.
"Shout out to Hughes.... Ha!" Had me dead
KG is one of the all-time greats and fiercest competitor. Love that dude’s game
This interview and their relationship are exactly what "Paying it Forward" is about.
McHale was a monster and obviously saw something special in Garnett.
This is the beauty of sports.
KG speaks the truth, his intensity was insane
love you kevin dont cut yourself short
KG to the rafters in BOSTON this March! Can't wait. I miss his time in Boston. Such an amazing time. I wouldn't miss a single game, EVER!
So cool seeing not only just Celtic legends, but league legends. Two of the toughest PF to play good shit man for real
Love Kevin Garnett🏆🏀
From my experience watching interviews and such of him, he'll put on a persona most of the time but that's peer pressure, but when he's one on one and feels comfortable he's very insightful and actually quite wise. Comes across as a guy who's had a rough life too.
Silly logic
I see my boys playing with retro teams on NBA 2K20 screaming "get it to KG" and I'm glad they at least get to experience his greatness on there... because i got to experience it live.
imagine being billy and you gave buckets to young kg but everyones like ya right laetner
I'd love to hear from Billy!
He's right beside me
I want Jaylen Brown to see this
Shamrock Kev he probably lived it himself.
Jaylen's looking pretty good two years later.
Two Celtic legends
1) Tim Duncan
2) Charles Barkley
3) Kevin Garnett
4) Karl Malone
5) Dirk nowitzki
Correction
1. Duncan
2.Dirk
3.Barkley
4. KG
5.Malone
@@Iatehmem KG had a better career and 1 chip just like Dirk. Defense.
Sounds about right
No way KG is better than Malone.
You see the guy giving the interview? He was unstoppable at times and deserves to be on the list, just listen to his peers who had to guard him, McHale was a nightmare to defend and was tough defensively too
That Celtics team had it like mchale an bird. Good times.
I am the biggest KG fan ever but not sure what he's talking about when he says they had a 20+ point lead in game 7 lol. where is the part when he talked about that he did not want to go to boston? that was in the commercial
ya theres def some missed parts from the full interview. i remember seeing some other clips that werent on this vid
2 best Celtics power forwards of all time
26:39 "AU has killed our league" is what I heard. What did KG mean?

AAU
He played alot of years with T Wolves but when u think of Garnett you think of Boston he bleeds green
OLLIE WORLD what??? Hell naw you definitely think of his career at Minnesota first. What are you talking about?
yeah man you got it messed up. When you think T-Wolves you think Big Ticket, not the case with Boston.
Brendan Callery when i think of Boston i don’t think garnet, but when i think garnet i think of the chips he won in Boston
nah i think of the twolves
@@MainerMMA *chip
That's a former league MVP talking lol!!! WOW!!! 💯 🔥 ❤️!!!
KG is a great guy!

KG is a smart dude
but I respect KG
Mr. Garnett is excellence!
Wow Garnett AAU comment at 26:38 is so real
Southern charm on display
I even forgot that we were down 25 in that game 7. My favorite series, beating the bitter Celtics
I remember the day I heard on EEI tgat the Celtics were after KG I thought man that’d be awesome but there’s no way that’ll ever happen. Then it did and I knew the Celtics would be champions again.
I want kobe to see this man, the revenge dude, is sweet
Man the Warriors missed a lot by not picking Mcdyess, Stackhouse, Sheed or KG
I hope to see KG back in the Wolves with different role. The organization and the city needs his energy, leadership and personality so badly. Minnesota loves KG.
Thank you
The Big Ticket ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Smile but it's business time and you see how they see you
Anybody knows what kicks he is wearing in this video?

AAU is killing basketball
20:05 What was KG doing in the locker room until 5am ?? lol
Why is there no documentary on Bug and KG
I know him
but which Kevin was better ?
McHale.
Offensively , McHale. Defensively, KG, but both were above average McHale defense KG offense. It's a toss up but I would choose McHale personally because he was freaky unstoppable at times and could score at will
Lawndale bruh
His teeth.👌🏾
Teeth and that chocolate skin 😍

🎉
KG would have fit right in with 1980s Celtics
UHS on top
mchale is smoking man
Great interview. Definitely a KG fan but please someone tell him, it’s alumnus when you’re talking about a singular person.
