why does enzyme activity decrease as we increase the purification? wouldn't it at least stay the same?

It will usually decrease during purification, because protein is lost in various steps, and protein is also denatured during manipulations. Actually, this wasn't my answer. I'v just googled it and wanted to share it with you.
