One reason why Ross is an amazing character is he’s not afraid to look silly. 😂
Without Ross this could have been the best sitcom ever. i really hate his character. Pathetic,but not funny.
I very strongly disagree. He’s my favorite character. His facial expressions were golden, he often had a goofy thing to say or do when things started feeling a bit too serious, and we wouldn’t have Roschel without him. Plus, he’s a geek, a little bit awkward, and a good deal neurotic - I love him for these things. Many people can relate.
Actually he is afraid of looking silly, he just has a bad fashion sense.
I’m in partial agreement. If he looked goofy at times it was unwittingly done so on his part. Most of the time. There were a few times Ross just embraced this and let himself look silly.
I also really dislike Ross.. he’s so narcissistic and manipulative and a man baby. He really is a teenager. Chandler and Monica were good friends and Joey too. Phoebe and Rachel were also funny idk Ross just doesn’t do much maybe his character was just meant to be a joke

David was awesome ! He deserved much more recognition. I didn’t see none of the rest of the cast acting and doing such hilarious, ridiculous situations like him. He dared to do what the others didn’t. Extraordinary histrionic talent. I absolutely admire his ability to make laugh in just a minute or even seconds !

This scene PERFECTLY sums up the Barney's shopping experience for men in the 1990s. Everything is way too weird, when you think you found something that isn't weird you look closely and find one stupid detail that makes it weird, and then the ONE THING you could actually wear costs eight times more than it should. After markdown.
The scene works even if you never experienced it... but for the people who actually know, it's just perfectly spot on.

I would like to know why only in the U.S. when I go shopping, all I am offered is black, white, and gray, while women get offered every bright color and pattern under the sun? That is why when I look for new clothes, usually at Goodwill or Salvation Army, I find alot of nice things to buy in the so-called women’s section.

This show gets pretty dark when you look into details like this. For example, with "Tommy Two-face" episode, Ross warned Rachel and everyone about him, but they mistreated Ross thinking he's just jelaous. Basically they were mocking Ross for being against Tommy. At the end, it turned he was right, but nobody ever apologized to him. There are many examples of that, where show is showing some really crappy values in comedy's sake, which isnt even that funny to begin with.
It could have been ross's way of saying

_Friends_ is one of those rare shows that didn't run out of steam, comedy-wise. In some ways, the late-season episodes were even funnier than the early ones.

She wasn't offended, she was just weirded out because she thought he was either a gay guy in drag or transgender. Clearly she expected the date to be a regular one where the guy doesn't cross dress like a woman. Straight men would never deliberately wear very obvious women's clothes in public, which is why she likely assumed Ross was not a regular straight man. She should have stayed to let Ross explain though because in his case it was an accident he was cross dressing.
