Hello, my 14 year old daughter had an eye appointment today and her doctor said that she might have cone dystrophy or stargardt’s they are waiting on the second test and next week she has to have a color blind test. How old were u when you were diagnosed?

Back then they did not have genetic testing. I started losing eyesight around age 5. I went through several diagnoses before landing on SD and later, confirming with genetic testing. I was legally blind by age 11. I know it’s scary at first but, one day at a time it gets easier, and, you realize life is still full and beautiful …..just a little different

They remind me those tactile warning stickers described unter the DIN EN ISO 11683 standard.

Interesting! I’m not familiar with those. This system is great though especially if companies incorporate these into their packaging. That way we don’t have to worry about adding the tags ourselves.

Developing tactile stickers to recognize colors could be helpful too as an alternative for color scanners or the penfriend. The folks from NaviLens could be supportive too.

Absolutely, great idea. Yes, I love what I am reading about the app service. Navilense. This could be great to pair with that to help quickly identify things without technology. Because let’s face it, sometimes technology fails, and we just need to go to the basics.

@@SeeingBlind Yes, thats true. Putting such a sticker on those NaviLens codes could work very well
