The first time I changed my plugs, the first one I tried to remove was extremely tight! I was terrified of it snapping. Thankfully it came out, but the porcelain did break. It's not necessary to disconnect the battery when doing this job as the engine is not running so you won't get a belt off it. Good video though mate, looking forward to the next one 👍
Hey buddy yeah they can be tight, it's good best practice to always disconnect the battery when working on the electrics, but it's always down to the individual in the end. I should have another coming on soon thank you for the complement buddy
The core ring on the spark plugs will shatter before the spark plug snaps mate and will cause misfire or igniting with over flow of oil 😎just saying good vid dude👍
That is very true buddy, I aim to not go to technical when explaining stuff as it will just baffle to many watchers, best to keep it short and sweet lol
Nice video, but it is far easier to remove the crossover pipe. Also I wouldn't bother disconnecting the wire from the coil pack, without the crossover pipe on there's plenty of room and reach on the cable to allow the coil pack to be removed while connected.
Hey buddy thank you for the compliment, yeah true the crossover pipe out the way would make things a lot easier, you could leave the connectors on but you always run the risk of snagging a wire or pulling one loose, but both options are optional thank you for the input buddy
Great video bud very helpful, do you just install the plugs straight out the box with no adjusting for the spark gap ? Reason being I see a vid of someone putting plugs in he messed around with the gap and caused a misfire
Yes I did, these were RS Spark plugs that come pre gapped at 0.07mm, I mean you can double check but to be honest Bosch no what they are doing and spend millions on production I'm sure they can pre gap the electrodes correctly, I would never recommend messing with new spark plugs.
When I saw him leave to bolts in the cover and ignition coil I said to myself, take it out as you undo it or you'll drop it somewhere. What did he do? Turned the coil upside down and dropped the bolt down the back of the engine. oops!! could have been worse though. I wonder how long it took to find it? Put them in a pot, preferably a magnetic one. Good vid though.
Yeah magnetic pot are always great to have I just didn't have one to hand on that day lol thanks for watching though, brand new car and videos coming soon 😀
At the moment nothing of great Internet just a 7 seater family car 🤣 but I am looking all the time to start again, I am seriously thinking about a Lotus elise s1 but they are pricey
@@stephenstyles4938 cheers buddy that actually means alot thank you and I'm happy that it has inspired you to work on yours, possibly I do think about it getting another for Video purposes only

Awesome video mate, I find your videos very informative and easy to follow. Looking forward to seeing new videos if your still doing them.
Cheers buddy I'm glad they help, not doing them at the moment as I'm a bit busy teaching mechanics at college

ECP cheers mate I’ll have a go and won’t mess with the gap lol
Lol let me know how you get on
ECP cheers bud will do 👍
Just a small correction, the plug gap will be around 0.7mm not 0.07mm 👍
Apologises for the late reply. Good spot thank you

Next time buy some genuine Beru plugs.
These engines dont like Bosch or Ngk. And stay away from Motorcraft plugs!
How come you didn’t go with RS plugs? they run abit cooler so would be good when you remap the car.
Hey buddy they were RS Spark plugs, I had thought about mentioning it but I never did in the end as I was just focusing on showing how to do the work.
😎👍🏻
Thanks bro, great content!
No worries hope it helped again
