Years ago I seen a alternate 'ac unit' that at night time would freeze large volume of water into a giant block of ice by running a chemical through the copper coils (Serpentine)... At (0:16) seconds in the video, on the left, There is a giant copper coil that appears to be somewhat of the same process. Does Anyone know the name of the chemical 'refrigerant' that they pump through these serpentine coils to freeze the water? Thank you for your time.

What does kind of compressor do you use? I'm building somthing similar in Venezuela by a fishing pier.

Hi Paul, sorry for my delayed reply. normally we have equipment for that. The name is the harvesting tank. Put the mold into a tank with 25'C water and it takes of itself. than use tilting unit to lie down on the ice bench. you can watch our other video which has this ua-cam.com/video/AEwMWBg3P3A/v-deo.html

Hi Ivan, this model does not have remove system. so need to use hot water around the molds.

Hi Anietie, need saltwater because we cool down the saltwater up to -15'C and it does not freeze. but the freshwater into the molds freeze on 0'C. that's the point.
