I think what makes him so likeable is how he fits in with the recent culture and is also so serious with chess. Makes it really easy for new chess players to get into chess (:
@@sslugs likeable? He's about as likeable as XQC... Hes great at chess and that's about it, his personality is annoying and.. not likeable. Crazy how people are charmed by such a lack of charm. He speaks as badly as xqc too lol. Fits twitch chat perfectly ig
Its funny to see the massive time difference between Hikaru and the opponents. Hikaru is meming, reading chat, answering questions, and premoving half a dozen arrows without breaking a sweat. Meanwhile, his victims are struggling to breathe with ~15 seconds left on the clock to his minute and a half plus. The time difference at the end is honestly more of a diss than the silly openings or tactics themselves.
@@Frosst I'm sure that his opponent was so confused that he/she didn't even know what move to play. They were probably wondering, what in the world is this mess on the board??
Just getting into chess and this is by far the most interesting person in the chess space to me. These disrespect speed runs are very entertaining just destroying people. And I’ve learned more from these than actual lesson videos
Nice! I’ve been playing for about 5 years and I just hit 1521 elo. Chess is awesome but I’ve found the more I learn, the less I know 😂. It’s definitely a love/hate relationship
Yea but you need to study openings and the intricacies of the different phases of the game with high level pattern recognition to do what he does so effortlessly.
Lesson in life, this how is how to be good at anything really. You learn from and study the best, you master the craft over thousands of hours. Only once you know everything about how the best are the best do learn to get creative, add some theory/skill of your own to the pool. That's when you've truly mastered something.
Im not into this series from the beginning but 251 wins vs 1 loss. That one person who survived a match against Hikaru and won must be the proudest person on Earth
5:00 Had to comment to say that Nadal was definitely never consistently beating Federer. As a big Nadal fan I would’ve loved for that to be the case, but it just never happened like that lol
5:00 Federer never slipped, he was always better than Nadal, but after a while he just stopped care enough because playing at his best, he had no competition, people were exhausting/crippling themselves to beat him and he was just chilling, then in 2017 he decided to dabble in winning again out of sheer boredom
I read this title and envisioned a better thumbnail idea: Hikaru literally picking up pawns with a fork except every pawn has a name tag with its rating. please hire me as your chief of thumbnail. I'm not kidding, I just don't write boring copy.
Mr.Hikaru , you think you can do some stockfish games ? Or some alphazero games ? You don't need to play vs them , just to analyze these games or even better , play vs them . I want so hear some opinions from a super GM like you .
Jozarov’s chess channel covers engine games, subscribe to him if you want to see that. I prefer the salty Hikaru channel for pure entertainment when he steamrolls pretty much everybody in blitz.
Hikaru is like Stockfish confirmed! He literally played Qe7 which hangs his rook and bishop! He literally saw Stockfish’s tactics plan if the opponent were to take the hanging pieces! I in that position would simply trade the bishops and then the rook!
Hikaru completely missing the point about Federer winning 2 slams in 2017 and beating Nadal at 36, Djokovic was out with elbow surgery and thats why they won 2 slams each 😂 he failed to mention that because he's a fed fan, it's ok hiki I still think he's in 2nd place ahead of Nadal on the all time list, but there's only one number 1 😁 🇷🇸
The way Hikaru says "Thank You so much" to a new subscriber faster than bullet chess
I love how a lot of people get into chess and find this legend
P sure I've been blasted by the legend on one his runs

Top level chess theory that I’m here for. Taking with e pawn for the ziggy zaggy

“This looks horrible from Mr. Wannabe James Bond” 😂🤣 I loveeee the disrespect almost as much as I love the handsome legend Dr. Hikaru himself ❤
The disrespect shown to outrageously good players is jaw dropping.
"Great Wall on the 4th rank."
This was my favorite episode so far. The 4 pawn launch opening had me dying: "what am I even doing, this is so bad". What did you expect?? 😆
lol
I feel like that’s why the other person played so bad because that opening just threw them off 😂
@@Frosst I'm sure that his opponent was so confused that he/she didn't even know what move to play. They were probably wondering, what in the world is this mess on the board??
14:09 is such a quintessential Hikaru moment, i'm crying! 😂

the game at 14:32 with five pawns on the 4th row that leads to the pawn forking is all-time lol
I Just started playing chess a week ago and im already addicted to hikaru an Levy
Great content !!!

Careful!!! These streamers are more addictive than drugs, Hikaru is such a beast
Ppl saying study openings etc, but this dude beating 2500s with random pawn moves not using any openings or theory. Just pure skill.

"Get forked." ~Miami Vice Hikaru to 2500s. Please consider taking the Don Johnson look to your next in-person tourney.
This guy is hilarious 💀. The intro always gets me and the sarcastic picture he attaches 😭.
16:48 This WHOLE SEQUENCE IF ACTIONS😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣
I think there was Rxa5 at 19:06, because the queen was overloaded
Was looking for this comment haha
After watching you all day I have no time left to play! UR the most additive chess guy online.
Hahaha yes!
get a life wtf
this is brilliant entertainment and it makes me happy. thanks TeamHikaru, you are the best
5:00 Had to comment to say that Nadal was definitely never consistently beating Federer. As a big Nadal fan I would’ve loved for that to be the case, but it just never happened like that lol
Hikaru is so insane he legit said : I will win every game without queens against anyone not named magnus (12:42)
C'est la meilleure miniature que j'ai jamais vu. L'équipe de développement de Vice city devrait être fière.
Pawn Power speed run. See how many pawn moves you can make before needing a piece move.
This is the best editor + thumbnail editor in the planet.
Hikaru makes TOP TIER thumbnails
Hikaru when down a pawn ‘I’m gonna win’
Me when I’m down 12 points of material ‘I’m gonna win’
13:50 CASTLEMANIAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
8:16 song : all to me - wave saver
"taken shelter in time" lmao true though, no lies detected

Hikaru is more humble than we understand
He's half asian

I love how he makes fun of a 13-year-old's screen name 😂 13:57
Some fm kid
35 IS NOT OLD. Plenty GMs are still competitive into their 40s, maybe not top 10 but definitely still getting invited to tournaments.
Hikaru you missed Rxa5 on 19:06 or am I missing something?. The point is you have mate on d7 and black queen is guarding that square?
He's laddered, or else I mate him with castlemania. Wooden shield. The juicer. What other awesome things am I missing from chess.
Badass intro!!!
As a tennis fan, I was happy to hear you talk about Federer and Nadal lol
tho chat was going crazy shitting on the goats
"Thanks to Lehman brothers"
lmao
Mr.Hikaru , you think you can do some stockfish games ? Or some alphazero games ? You don't need to play vs them , just to analyze these games or even better , play vs them . I want so hear some opinions from a super GM like you .
You cant play against alphazero

16:47 imagine doing this in live match after your opponent play stupid move
This is my favorite chess series
I love you Hikaru! Thanks for keeping it real brotha!
Fanat Magnusa is Russian language (or similar Slavic language). Means Magnus's fan of course.
Hi Hikaru. Why not to make a thematic opening speed run? That could be interesting
Huge 2500 guy
I want all the thumbnails to be collected somewhere so we can appreciate them more. The guy spent hours to create them everytime.
Que fácil ganas.gracias GM Nakamura.Saludos.
This Title alone was the best I seen in awhile😂😂
Este tipo de vídeos son muy instructivos, se aprende mucho del mejor jugador blitz del mundo 💪
It’s not Latin. “Fanat Magnusa” means “Magnus’ fan” in Russian (and possibly in other Slavic languages).
At the ending .. the message was OP
Would love a speed run where you have to move all 8 pawns before moving any other piece
That's like a chesssimp 100 rated chess game
God, dude's a machine!
Your so Good that loosing 1 game in 300 games is disappointing 😞. Much respect 👑
completely in love with the intro
5:00 Florida man, you can totally compare yourself to Roger Federer... The purses are just smaller in your sport.
As a passionate tennis player it means a lot when hikaru understands and alludes to 2017 Roger Federer
Intro is sick.
Take and take and take and take AHAHAHAHAHA! The disrespect, I'm but hurt!!
at 21:03 if he takes w the knight then takes the blocking queen is that not mate? Completely irrelevant, just curious
19:09 rook takes a5?? If queen takes rook then queen d7 mate
The dr. disrespect glasses is growing on me
I have never skipped the intro 😅👌
18:56 whats wrong with simple Qa4 Nc6 d5 just winning the piece back with better position
The thumbnail goes hard
Nice background music!
how about a hippo opening speedrun?
Is there a public playlist for this music?
An entertainment value? None. An educational value? Even less.
Hikaru is like Stockfish confirmed! He literally played Qe7 which hangs his rook and bishop! He literally saw Stockfish’s tactics plan if the opponent were to take the hanging pieces! I in that position would simply trade the bishops and then the rook!
Yeah had to pause and admire that position for a minute, he just moves on like nothing happened.
Dude this is harsh. Nobody is safe. We now have to get to 2700 to not get speedrun over.
the thumbnail made me laugh so thanks for clickbaiting me hahahah
Fanat Magnusa is a translateration of russian Фанат Магнуса... But you are right, it means fan of magnus kkk
Hikaru’s editor went God mode
I just leave Hikaru videos running in the background while programming...
9:40 it’s Russian guy. Fanat_Magnusa - it’s transliteration of Russian ‘фанат Магнуса’ (fan of Magnus)
He takes the most tedious game known to man and makes it almost tolerable.
Chat is full of people trying to create drama over everything
I love the Thumbnail
Bro really said pushin p 😭
Anyone know what type of music he always has in the background?
Hikaru is always wonderful
How does his board look so cool?
The intro’s are always gold
since you already lost you have to reset and try again (maybe not lose this time).
My guy using random opening to crush 1500+ players when I do it I hang a queen in two moves
Damn the disrespect
Which video has the 1 loss
1st Novak, 2nd Rodger, 3rd Nadal. It is extremely close though.
Who was his loss against
Crypto? Maybe after I see someone do a DCF analysis on a napkin for any of them, good luck. I suspect about $0.00 intrinsic value.
We are respecting our opponents so lets keep Disrespecting them 😆
when and to whom did he lost??
roger wasn't losing to nadal his whole career maybe on clay but no
That thumbnail is something else
Thumbnail got me to click without hesitation!
