I’m an Eagles fan and I think their loss made our path a bit easier. However, if you don’t absolutely love this coach, something is wrong with you. The Lions are in good hands. Congrats on a great season.
Coach, you gave us Lions fans something to feel excited and proud about. We'll be there for you and the team next fall. Rest well and we'll get 'em next season. You and the team make us proud.
Eagles fan here. Tough, tough loss, hard to swallow after the amazing season y'all had. I want my Birds to win Super Bowl LIX of course, but I would have been just as happy to see Dan Campbell and Jared Goff hoist the Lombardi Trophy on Feb 9. There's no fan base in the NFL that deserves it more than Lions fans. You're all awesome and you have a great, great team. When the shock and disappointment wear off and the 2025 season ramps up, you'll be right there, back on top where you belong. Hang in there and see ya in September!
What a great coach. I'm a 50 plus year Chiefs fan. I LOVE Dan Campbell! This is what can happen in football. There is no best of 7 or best of 5 or 3 series. It only takes one game not at your best playing a team that is playing theirs and it's over. No amount of preparation, practice, strategy, or anything else will change that. As long as there are sports, individuals and teams will have great days and others will have off days. The finality is hard to accept and process. But I can tell you one thing for certain. The Lions are in good hands with Dan Campbell.
@ It really does instill confidence.... I still don't know how things will shake out next week until after Andy and Patrick have their weekly meeting with next weeks refs, Roger Goodell, and the CEOs of the top sports betting companies to go over the script. I'm not allowed to tell you who's winning in Buffalo tonight, but I can tell you it'll be wild! Fairbairn missed his kicks perfectly and hit Chenal's hand with the other one just like we drew it up. It's really amazing how good kickers are these days to miss so perfectly. I mean just think about how many times they actually HIT the uprights this year. That's not easy. I gotta say, I was a little disappointed that the Texans didn't guard Kelce, or block our blitzes well enough to make it look like they were trying. Roger wasn't happy about that. Houston needs better act.. I mean players. And it was embarrassing to see the Texans kickoff team stopping to sign autographs on that 60+ yard return. But that dude throwing down on the coach afterward made up for it. Don't worry, I think they're looking at mixing things up next year. The decision on the Three-peat still hasn't been made. The Bills and Ravens keep complaining that the scripts aren't realistic and that the NFL needs to spread it around. The real secret is who Roger gets his orders from. He's claiming that HE doesn't even know who's going the the SB yet. He's getting nervous because it takes 3 weeks to get the scripts worked out and the writers aren't happy. Anyway, have a super Sunday!
Being likable doesn't make you a great coach. The Coordinators are responsible for the lions success. All Dan Cambell does during a game is decide what they do on 4th down and cry at the post game presser. I want a coach who doesn't need consoling after a loss.
Never have I ever seen a coach cry on a podium as much as he does. You were 15-2, and everyone thought you would make the Super Bowl. Now here he is again, acting all emotional like a 15 year old girl because they couldn’t do it. Get a grip….. when did Belichick, Lombardi, Reid, etc ever cry on a podium? 😂😂😂
He is. He loves this team and players and their sacrifices. He’s proud of them and it hurts to see them come up short. Lions will learn from it and grow.
No shame! Great accomplishments this season. 19 players out! Great regular season game against the Vikings historically! Great job coach! Set amazing records! Great job team. Very proud to witness this!!!! ❤
I have so much respect for Dan, he is a good leader. You can see the pain here after all the work. And he owns up to the loss. Any good leader, sports, politics, private companies they need to learn this. Accountability
I love a coach that shows emotion, and takes accountability for his leadership or lack thereof. I think the Lions coaches did a fantastic job this season with all the injuries that they had, there aren’t too many teams that could even begin to get over that hurdle. I’m a New York Jets fan, but I really wanted to see the Detroit Lions and the Super Bowl this year. So I’m just as pissed that you guys didn’t get in. I wish you the best for next year though. I’m also hoping that we get your DC Aaron Glenn . After all, he was a first round draft pick of ours and I’d love to see him. Come back home. The rumor is he is our owner’s first choice and one of your assistance to your owner. Chris Spielman is up for the NYJs GM job, I’m hoping they both get it. I hope that you guys get an another receiver in the corner or safety to help you out. Best of luck to you next year.
I know that it hurts Dan, but we absolutely love you and the team keep your head up Dan! You put together the culture we needed and you and the team have the foundation you’ll be back and will continue giving us more great season
You know that one hurt. The coach can't hold it together because his team let him down. This loss further proves Sean McVay was right about Goff's can't win with him time to let him go. 2 INT plus a fumble really. You might get away with this in the regular season this is the playoff.
been a Lion's fan since the Barry Sanders era, this one stung hard as ever; I am not backing down! LIONS for LIFE!!! Dan Campbell is my guy! we still stand tough with you coach!
The Lions didn't play the first round Wild Card. They played the second round Division. Maybe if they were in the Wild Card they would have done better since they were undefeated on the road this year.

Dan Campbell is a HELL OF A COACH! I’m hurt we didn’t go all the way so I can’t only imagine how he and the players feel. The next few days gonna be tough man smh 🤦🏾♂️
I have been saying this for 2 years . With the Lions offensive line and running backs , any starting QB in the NFL would put up career high numbers and would probably take the Lions to a Super Bowl . Just like what Tom Brady was saying during the game , Goff get's in trouble when the NO.1 receiver on the play isn't open he has trouble finding his other receivers . Plus he can't scramble and has terrible pocket awareness .
@@chrismaurer2075 Look I respect Brady but Goff has come off his 1st wr plenty of times this year he was constantly coming off his 1st read all season and hitting other wr. He had a bad game at the worst time. Missing Zietler and starting Mahogany who had only 1 other start hurt more than I thought it would in the pass protection. Agree he can’t scramble but his pocket awareness has been great all season. He may not be super Elite but he is better than over 75% of the rest of the nfl and his numbers back that up. He played great in the nfc title game at SF last season and hit Reynolds on the hands on Reynolds only 2 drops of the season that probably end that game. I’d be happy with a Mobil qb but there are only a few of those around. He had 3 bad games all season. Sadly one came last night .
@@wolves1901 I'm just so disappointed I thought this was the year and now we will probably lose at least 1 of our coordinators . I just hope that in the eye's of veteran players the Lions are still a favorite to win it all so that we might be able to snag a couple quality veteran defensemen .
Good job coach, you got a fierce group of guys. The emotions are raw you really love what you do. Best wishes to all of yall over in Michigan. God bless and go Bills
He seems like a good guy but too much of a loose cannon. Stop already with the ALWAYS going for it nonsense. He cost them their season against the niners last year. This year they were just too injured and Goff choked.
I feel like the Teams and the Dans are just so similar. Decades long droughts…aggressive play style…great head coaches. I feel so happy for my Washington team but so bad for Detroit. I will always root for them except if it’s Washington on the other side. I know we will see the Lions in the Superbowl soon.
We still had one hell of a season, all the injuries we had on defense caught up with us at the wrong time. Our offense was elite but are defense could not stop anything. We will be back!!!
This guy came from the Saints as one of Sean Payton's coaches, and as a Saints fan I feel so bad for the Lions. Get ready for next season and good luck Lions
So many great teams have struggled for years to reach the big show. Campbell has given this team life and will do so in the future. They will be back next year with this experience under their belt. The city and fans nationwide are not going away. Neither will this team.
When things are going your way it's easy to be a great guy, nice to people, magnanimous... but it's when things DON'T go your way that you find out who a person really is. I gained more respect for Dan Campbell after this loss than I ever would have if they'd won this game. I wish him the best, and I'll be rooting for these Lions to make it back here next year.
Philly didn’t look scary to anybody the way the played the packers I doubt they feel confident about knocking off the rams tomorrow so u worry about beating the Rams tomorrow cuz they looked for real last week and on a mission before u worrry about super bowls
Keep your head up Dan Campbell, You made a team that was irrelevant to everyone for decades into a contender and a top contender at that. You’re the best head coach we have ever had. We love ya, the players obviously love playing for you. Just keep moving forward. IM STILL WITH THE GRIT. GO LIONS.
He completely believes in every player on his team and gives everything he has to the game. Took a total losing culture and turned it into a 15-2 team most people expected to be in the Super Bowl. Hard for me to understand how anyone wouldn’t pull for this guy
Geez, any athlete, any factory worker, any office worker, ANYONE would be so lucky to have a coach/boss like Campbell. Personally, I’d walk through fire for the guy. Can’t wait for next year!
Yep, so Lions always lose their last game. And usually their first game too. And usually a whole bunch of games in the middle. That's where they're headed. Things feel more normal when the Lions lose
This guy is the real deal. I love that he makes no excuses. It's on me. It's not all his fault. He put it on him. It's very disappointing, I can't get mad at him.
@@Mrcharles. I would say Detriot is in better shape do to Cambell being the coach and the upper management not being meddling. Goff is better then Dak sorry Dak is horriable. Goff can at least stay on the field and win meaningful games which he did when he beat MINN last game of the season and Philly this season to win the 1st seed. Dak sucks I sorry I take goff over him anyday.
defense coordination is the issue. We allow high points in too many plays, with predictable man coverage every time. Makes it easy to design a game to defeat the lions. This is on Aaron Glenn. Let him leave. Replace him with a pinecone.
The coordinators were distracted by finding new Head coaching jobs. They should never have gone to Job interviews with the biggest game of the season on the line. Unless they were too overconfident thinking, they had this game in the bag.
Last season I was able to maintain my sobriety. The multiple 4th down misses instead of 3 point conversions against the 49ers in the playoffs confirmed their play as "typical Lions football". But this year, after 7 years of Lions sobriety, I relapsed. I really believed this was their year. After drinking the Honolulu blue cool aid once again I had become powerless over lions football and my life had become unmanageable. I have come to believe that only a power greater than myself will restore me to sanity. Born and raised in Michigan and a longsuffering Lions fan since the "Cocaine Wayne" Fontes, Barry Sanders years. The only team to go 0-16 during the Rod "pound the rock" Merinelli, Matt Millen debacle. The Matt Stafford and Calvin "Megatron" Johnson illusion. I ignored the warning signs when I started seeing Lions gear popping up all around my new home in Crimson Tide country. The hype was too much for the Lions to overcome. History really does repeat itself as the Washington (redskins) commanders dashed the Lions' super bowl hopes once again, their last opportunity in 1991 when Mark Rypien et al. ran roughshod over them. The curse of Bobby Lane lives on. Better stock up on tissues Dan Campbell. This won't be the last time the lions will have those lacrimal glands flowing. Oh well, as we always say about our lovable lions - "there's always next year.
He was on the '08 Lions team that went 0-16, injured and couldn't come back and try to help. Injured again all season in '09 with the Saints and didn't get a ring when they won the Super Bowl. He wants that damn ring bad. He wants it for Detroit even more. MCDC
Feel bad for Lions fans, players and this coach. Tough loss all around, but having injuries on defense during the playoffs are hard to overcome, especially against an top offensive team. Hopefully, they’ll all run it back next season. Lions fans deserve a chip. -A Bears fan
So many people make fun of him for being so emotional. He used to play for us! He was there for the 0-16 season people. Of course he’s gonna feel it so hard, he knows what it’s like.
Coach Campbell! It was not your fault. You are one heck of a coach. It just wasn't your teams year to hold the Lombardi but hopefully it's coming. Please don't blame yourself. I'm a Steelers fan and I picked your team to win the whole thing because you all were playing so well all year. Come back next year and get after it.
Coach you gotta start giving more walk through or light pad work practicing some times ,i think he beat up more of his players more than the opposition, IMO, but I could be wrong
Lions injuries on defense finally caught up to them let’s be realistic here u need some kinda defense to win superbowls even had they beat Washington they wasn’t making it to the Super Bowl with that defense let alone win it !
Sometimes being the one seat is not good players will lose that fire in them from that 2 weeks off anyway this dude made me cry a little bit and I’m an eagles fan 😢
5 interceptions/turnovers and an injury riddled defense. Just ain't gonna happen. Makes Detroit's accomplishments all the more impressive during the regular season. Unfortunately, people forget about that very quickly.
Jared Goff had 3 interceptions and fumbled in the biggest game for the lions this year. Time to trade Goff for a mobile quarterback like Love or Stroud. We ain’t winning a Super Bowl with Goff.
Keep your head up coach, you made a team that was irrelevant for decades into a contender and a top contender at that. I’m with you no matter what!
Would've got slaughtered by Philly anyway
Probably more that coordinators
Not really a top contender when you get blown in your first playoff game at home

@@chrismaurer2075
Look I respect Brady but Goff has come off his 1st wr plenty of times this year he was constantly coming off his 1st read all season and hitting other wr.
@chrismaurer2075
We all are. Sadly, it's on to next sesson. We really need to stay healthy
Allowing Jamo to make a decision with the ball was irresponsible
LA Rams Goff showed up tonight.
FACTS
We still love you guys ❤️
Good job coach, you got a fierce group of guys. The emotions are raw you really love what you do. Best wishes to all of yall over in Michigan. God bless and go Bills
Jayden Daniels is a beast, and hard to contain when he is in zone, which is often. He makes a lot of teams suffer
This is how a coach should react to a loss, I’m a Viking fan and was pulling for the lions. Great season coach.
NFC North 0-3 in playoffs this year.
Whoa 😮
And having a 14 win team and 15 win team and 11 win team all go 1 and done
fraud division
Steelers fan here, keep your head up Dan and figure it out you will. Love your attitude and love of the game. Passionate coach.
He seems like a good guy but too much of a loose cannon. Stop already with the ALWAYS going for it nonsense. He cost them their season against the niners last year. This year they were just too injured and Goff choked.
Every time I hear this man speak I come away as a better person.
Thank you to Coach and Players for the amazing regular season from Germany!!!
Next time you'll come back!
No NFL team is going to win in the postseason when their starting QB turns the ball over 4 times.
Exactly
I feel like the Teams and the Dans are just so similar. Decades long droughts…aggressive play style…great head coaches. I feel so happy for my Washington team but so bad for
Detroit. I will always root for them except if it’s Washington on the other side. I know we will see the Lions in the Superbowl soon.
Goff 2 interceptions and a fumble…
*3
He's 2-0 against Mahomes though... 😂
We still had one hell of a season, all the injuries we had on defense caught up with us at the wrong time. Our offense was elite but are defense could not stop anything. We will be back!!!
I thought he would be very depressed. So highly motivated and so great.😥👍💪🤷♀️
This guy came from the Saints as one of Sean Payton's coaches, and as a Saints fan I feel so bad for the Lions.
Get ready for next season and good luck Lions
Your a great coach Dan
So many great teams have struggled for years to reach the big show. Campbell has given this team life and will do so in the future. They will be back next year with this experience under their belt. The city and fans nationwide are not going away. Neither will this team.
When things are going your way it's easy to be a great guy, nice to people, magnanimous... but it's when things DON'T go your way that you find out who a person really is. I gained more respect for Dan Campbell after this loss than I ever would have if they'd won this game. I wish him the best, and I'll be rooting for these Lions to make it back here next year.
I was cheering for you guys and I am kc fan!!!
Yea cuz u really don't wanna see Philly
Philly didn’t look scary to anybody the way the played the packers I doubt they feel confident about knocking off the rams tomorrow so u worry about beating the Rams tomorrow cuz they looked for real last week and on a mission before u worrry about super bowls
@@Moe-xq1uq ok.....I see you are a casual fan
We'll revisit tomorrow son
@@Moe-xq1uq You're right
Barkley only had over 300 yards of total offense against them 8 weeks ago...
They are prob shaking with fear
Too many unprofessional mistakes
Class act💯💯💯💯💯
Keep your head up Dan Campbell, You made a team that was irrelevant to everyone for decades into a contender and a top contender at that. You’re the best head coach we have ever had. We love ya, the players obviously love playing for you. Just keep moving forward. IM STILL WITH THE GRIT. GO LIONS.
I am a Vikings fan, but I like DC. He can be abrasive, but the man has ❤. RESPECT
I’m a Vikings fan and I wish we had this coach.
He completely believes in every player on his team and gives everything he has to the game. Took a total losing culture and turned it into a 15-2 team most people expected to be in the Super Bowl. Hard for me to understand how anyone wouldn’t pull for this guy
I’m so proud of the Lions, the whole organization needs to be proud!!! I’m a Steeler fan and was rooting for the Lions all the way!
@@colleenloffredo7895 So is it going to be Justin fields or Russel Wilson as your starting QB next year?
Geez, any athlete, any factory worker, any office worker, ANYONE would be so lucky to have a coach/boss like Campbell. Personally, I’d walk through fire for the guy. Can’t wait for next year!
I M HUGE REDSKINS FAN FOR TWO N A HALF DECADE , BUT MY HEART GOES OUT FOR LIONS AND DAN CAMPBELL ..
every playoff team loses their last game except the super bowl champ
One and done
Loser excuse, lions were huge failures, like they always have been.
Yep, so Lions always lose their last game. And usually their first game too. And usually a whole bunch of games in the middle. That's where they're headed. Things feel more normal when the Lions lose
💯
@@DeplorableNeanderthala team of this caliber is not at all headed in that direction rere
Keep your head up Dan.
This guy is the real deal. I love that he makes no excuses. It's on me. It's not all his fault. He put it on him. It's very disappointing, I can't get mad at him.
Goff is Dak Prescott 2.0 we will never win with him. Its over for Goff
You’re absolutely correct
Goff is still 10 times better then Dak.
😂😂
@@mikekinsella2822 Get outta here. Goff is on par with Prescott and both franchises are no different right now.
DAN, YOU ARE THE BEST COACH IN THE WORLD ❤
Poverty franchise. You could’ve had Jesus at the wheel 😂😂😂 bye bye
defense coordination is the issue.
I;m and Eagles fan however this coach is amazing. He disappointed but this team will rise up.
The Lions didn't look ready. To many turnovers. It looked like Goff choked.
Dan Campbell such a class act … the whole Lions organization is class act
He was on the '08 Lions team that went 0-16, injured and couldn't come back and try to help. Injured again all season in '09 with the Saints and didn't get a ring when they won the Super Bowl. He wants that damn ring bad. He wants it for Detroit even more. MCDC
I’m a die hard Lions fan. Love this man and love the Detroit Lions. The refs are awful and need to be looked at
Feel bad for Lions fans, players and this coach.
Hell of a coach.
18 defenders on IR sheesh was pulling so hard for you fellas
Coach Campbell! It was not your fault. You are one heck of a coach. It just wasn't your teams year to hold the Lombardi but hopefully it's coming. Please don't blame yourself. I'm a Steelers fan and I picked your team to win the whole thing because you all were playing so well all year. Come back next year and get after it.
It's Coach Campbell, Quinn is the other team's coach.
Lmfao
Coach Quinn stomped this cry baby
Lmao damn bro wrong coach 🤣
@@Nathan-u1j8g I corrected it. They both have the Dan thing going on.
Dam that sucks I wanted them to win it all good job coach next season you got this 👍🏾👍🏾
Coach you gotta start giving more walk through or light pad work practicing some times ,i think he beat up more of his players more than the opposition, IMO, but I could be wrong
They played in this one playoff game, like the Lions of the last four decades of the regular season.
Lions injuries on defense finally caught up to them let’s be realistic here u need some kinda defense to win superbowls even had they beat Washington they wasn’t making it to the Super Bowl with that defense let alone win it !
Everyone has injuries. Especially at the end of the season. That’s all excuses. Goff had terrible game.
I agree. Buffalo exposed that. They weren’t winning a super bowl with that defense.
Sometimes being the one seat is not good players will lose that fire in them from that 2 weeks off anyway this dude made me cry a little bit and I’m an eagles fan 😢
No defense
plain and simple
Commanders are a decent team because or their coach and Daniels, and they are hot at the right time...
It's just not meant to be for Goff.
