- Thanks to a suggestion from one of my viewers, who asked if I would take the 333 challenge. I have chosen three tops, three bottoms and three pairs of shoes/boots.
I have combined them using some accessories, see what you think. I stopped after fifteen I think as it was obvious what I would do next, and I didn't want to insult your intelligence... by just keep putting the same combo of tops with different bottoms. Hope you enjoy it. xx

Helen, this was brilliant, thank you. I’m going away for a weekend with some old school friends and I’m travelling with a friend who has a two seater sports car. So not much luggage room. This video was enormously helpful as to what to take in my small suitcase. By the way I love Dolly, her expressions are wonderful.

Great ideas Helen. The only thing that would happen to me is that I would drop something ( food ) down the front of the T shirt, silk shirt so although it would be lovely to just pack these items, I’m such a mucky pup I could only wear them once….unless you had washing and ironing facilities I need to take multiples of the tops. You got a lot of looks out of the bare bones though, especially the bags and jewels.. it is great.

Very elegant, you look as gorgeous as ever. You prove you do not need to be size 12 to look amazing. Yes we would all love to be a few sizes smaller and like you I dress appropriately and always try and make an effort. I am what am and most days I feel I look pretty ok.I wear colours that suit me and often get nice comments so for a 60 something I do the best I can 😊❤

Dolly was on full guard dog duties today! This was fabulous - you looked so great in every outfit you showed us. The silk blouse really lifted the outfits with a bit of glamour, lovely. What a brilliant idea to mix and match for us, to give us ideas to follow - such a simple challenge, but so worth doing. PS I loved what you do with the sleeves of the sweater, tucking them together in front to hold the sweater in place over your shoulders.

The very first outfit was really, really nice…totally monochrome and made you look expensive and sophisticated even with the white trainers…loved it! Great exercise!
Any ideas for someone who doesn’t wear jewelry…have never really worn it and honestly don’t care for it, but I think it looks nice on others (for the most part), and I can see what it adds for sure…thanks!
Scarves are the obvious replacement for jewellery. But as someone who loves jewellery.... I can't think of much else. xx

Hellooo Helen ,some great ideas in this video.My favourite look was the first all white , I have the same skirt and it’s so versatile for mixing and matching tops etc.N summer I wear mostly white head to toe with small touches of colour,it lightens the face and skin .Coco Chanel said always wear it near your face and hands,and as they say if it was good enough for super elegant Coco then it’s good enough for me .xx😂

I am always changing depending on where I am going. Could be three times in a day depending on how I feel and the weather of course. As soon as I get in off comes the jewellery and my outfit and then I relax putting on my flip flops, skinny jeans and a basic strappy top as that is what I feel most comfortable in for household chores and relaxing. Thank you for modelling and taking time out to show using the same staple garments you can change your look up or down depending on the occasion. I love it 😻 X

Having Confidence in our clothes is not a size thing at all. At size 22 I felt very self conscious….now at a size 10 still no confidence if I’m dressing well and appropriately for my age 57yrs so thank you so much for this . I just need somewhere to go now !

This is so accurate! Worked for a while in retail and found that it was the slimmer ladies who lacked most confidence at the fitting rooms 😮 it's all about learning to love and accept ourselves ❤

Really fun. You said several times you wouldn’t have tried the outfits which is fun to here. If I tried to wear white more than one day I’d be filthy. I am bad at spilling coffee or tea on myself. It must be exhausting changing that many times. Courtney Carver started Project 333 over 10 years ago to make getting dressed in the morning easier, not for a trip but for everyday ease. She does it for 3 months at a time.

Hi Helen loved this thanks for sharing I’m going to unpack my suitcase & repack now loved you in the white outfit I’ve got 3 pleated skirts but somehow they don’t suit me it’s all about what suits you my mum used to say you can look just as good in a £1 dress as in a £100 dress if it suits you anyway loved watching have a lovely weekend x

Loved this! You really made this work, there wasn't one outfit I didn't love. Well done. I think it shows that a few classic pieces will see you anywhere, a silk shirt, neutral sweater, white trainers etc, can be worn so many different ways.

Helen thanks for the ideas. That gorgeous blouse is one of my favourite colours and I love your small bags. Pewter is one of my favourite colours for shoes and bags. It goes with everything. I'm waiting for the day Dolly starts 'talking' to the camera!! 😄

I am a capsule wardrobe person and it makes life so much easier (at least for me!). Your choice of pieces to mix/match was good. I would have added a dressy flat or wedge instead of the heel - that's just a personal thing, I don't care for slim heels with jeans. I find it part of the fun of the capsule - finding new ways of putting things together!

Quite pretty outfits! 86F/30C here today, can't imagine putting on boots (or even thick jeans). we can always tell a Euro tourist because they have a sweater around their shoulders, waist, or bag; waiting for a Spring evening "cool down" that never comes.🌈🌞
Haha, we do go on holiday to 'not warm' countries too of course. I think as Brits we find it hard to trust that we won't need 'something warm' haha xx

Really appreciated this exercise Helen. I’m packing for six weeks in Europe soon and am definitely going to look at using accessories more after this rather than relying on clothes changes (if you know what I mean). Also trying everything on before I go is a tip that I’ve picked up here. Pretty obvious but I’ve never done it! I also love your attitude to fashion, our bodies and life! X

Somerset here!....those fitted navy blue trowers look really good & are soo slimming (But not tucked in boots😁...sooo much better than baggy!! I get the feeling they're trying to bring baggy back BUT there's no way I'm going to go that route again! Ps. 'They' will never get rid of leggings..they are here to stay! Enjoying the video😊

There needs to be all sorts of pant styles,we all have different bodies,I couldn’t wear leggings,my legs are not slim enough,and my bottom looks much better if the pants skim it,then there is the fact I have very narrow hips,and wide leg pants make me look in proportion.I like the fact that there are so many choices.
@@JanetBrown-px2jn yes..i forgot to mention that not everyone can wear leggings! (But do🤐) my daughters & daughter in law can pull them off no probs! I love Capri pants from back in the day..not too tight but just a nice fit.

Yes I tried this for a hand luggage only holiday. Like you I tried to vary the styles eg, not 3 T-shirts but 3 different style tops. Theoretically 333 makes 27 outfits. 😀

Loved the first outfit in white and belt. It really brings out your figure showing your waist. Well done with all those outfits. I don’t know about anyone else but I get so flustered these days trying to plan outfits for time away.

Really enjoyed this Video. Yes you can pack less clothes and make everything work. One time I went to Jamaica and packed two pairs of nice trousers..three tops..one bathing suit and a little jewelry and some PJs.and some sandals. . It worked out really well and I was not spending any time at all worrying about my clothes. I visited with a stylist before I went and she really helped me pack light. Give it a try on your next holiday.

Helen I’m not sure if you’ve ever seen stretchy sleeve garters to keep your sleeves up and organized not just turned over. Amazon has these for less than 10.00 dollars. Wow such an inspirational video, we don't need all those clothes in our wardrobe(s) do we, just the basics in a couple of colours. Dolly made me laugh and made my dogs bark, at one point she was looking at you as if she was saying are you talking to me!

Can you remind us - if you can recall where you got the coated black jeans from and what ‘style’ the denims were please . Loved this exercise, especially the creamy white on white look. Black accessories all together to tie together another outfit was also excellent look. My favorites seemed to have this in common. Favorite Skirt looked great! So glad you kept it, and indulged us all 😉 We are quite the chattering fashion critics, what a lot! Especially enjoy it when you preempt ‘commentary’ that you just know is coming with an “I am aware that…”😂
Dolly really seemed perplexed at what was happening in her hall. Perhaps the things hanging and the chair etc., disrupted her usual, haha! It was Cuute! Love your patience with her, as you waited it out. Pig’s ear was the best solution at the end.
