The boy Kiyan Kanodia gave an interview to "Voice of Tibet", in which Kiyan said, "It was amazing meeting His Holiness and I think it's a really great experience meeting somebody with such high positive energy. It's a really nice feeling meeting Him and you get a lot of that positive energy. It's not just like that, but once you get the positive energy, I think you're happier and it's a better thing and you smile a lot more. It was a really good experience overall." He gave another interview to the Radio Free Asia, title "Impact of having met with the #DalaiLama", the journalist asked: "As we see His Holiness hold you and hugged you, at that time what do you feel?" The Kiyan replied, "You can only feel the positive energy and I just can't express how good it feels. It was a really good experience meeting him, and it was inexpressible how blessed. You feel when you get blessed by him. You feel very positive energy and there's a lot of positive energy in you after you get blessed by him. Overall it's a very good experience." The child's mother, Dr. Payal Kanodia, sat on the stage at the right-hand side of His Holiness' throne and witnessed the whole event up close. The interview was also conducted on the day of the meeting by VOT, "I'm Dr. Payal Kanodia, trustee, M3M Foundation. We've been working in Dharamshala on this Skills Center which we started last year. And since then we were looking at seeking blessings from His Holiness. And you know today we got this opportunity and especially when my family was there with me and all the students who graduated from "iMpower Academy for Skills" were also present. We're totally, totally blessed to have got these blessings from His Holiness. He came, addressed us in person, taught about peace that the world needs and how everyone needs to feel together like brother and sister. And I absolutely cannot express how I feel getting blessed by him. Thank you.” The child’s grandfather, Mr. Basant Bansal, was also interviewed by RFA. He was also sitting on the stage, on the left hand side of the throne, closer to His Holiness than his daughter. He was right next to His Holiness with no gap in between. Jesus came back to life in 3 days after being killed and He is still alive today saving people on earth. Jesus lived a sinless life, which is what makes him so special. I would say that Jesus is the purest being on the earth. There is a reason why the holy angels call God, "holy, holy, holy" because the holiness is so powerful. I pray that you come into full understanding of what true holiness is and that you discern what is not holy.
On reflection I would guess the Dalai Lama would believe his action was not really appropriate given the state of the world however the problem is peoples minds are not expanded enough to understand his intention was pure and harmless, loving and lighthearted humour towards his young brother. Peoples minds are so poisoned with negativity they will only see it as something disgusting and sexualised even though the Dalai lama’s intention was the complete opposite.
The problem is that there is a world wide epidemic of child abuse, and Buddhism is not free from guilt of this disease. Child trafficking, child abuse by religious authority figures, including Buddhists and including monasteries, is a reality. I am not saying that HHDL is guilty in this case, but his actions were not without fault either. So, instead of closing ranks like the Catholic Church, the orthodox Jewish community, Hindu followers of certain gurus and yogis, and Islamic clergy, correct action would be to explain why this is a cultural misunderstanding, and to sharply, firmly reject child abuse and lay out clearly the ethical standards that nuns and monks are meant to follow, and vow to work with organizations to protect children, and clean up child abuse in monasteries. Children have no voice in these situations. No one is poisoned. We have realized that just because someone is a religious leader, they are not free from temptation. They are not perfect. Even HHDL does not believe he is perfect, and we need to hold our religious leaders to the ethical standards they claim to represent, as well as to get people who abuse power out of positions of power or even prosecuting them if need be. Again, I think that perhaps that yes, HHDL was misunderstood, but use the situation as more than a publicity blitz. I am a lifelong follower of HHDL, but I am also a survivor of child abuse. Child abuse in monasteries is real. Let's stamp it out together so that something good may come of this unfortunate event.

That propaganda video made to refute and repudiate the status and reputation of HH the Dalai Lama was most certainly made by the Chinese Communist Party, and therefore, their bate was taken, and they are delighted by the damage they caused...and yes, this was intentional to destroy the Dalai Lama's reputation. I was shocked to see how immature and reactionary so many people were triggered and reacted to the video and how they didn't search for a larger answer.

I think that it could be an opportunity to talk about child abuse in monasteries, which is an issue. I have always loved HHDL. Just like other faiths have had to confront abuse issues despite much resistance from the establishment, if we wish for faith to be relevant in the future, this is one subject that must be confronted and addressed. This is in line with other aspects of HHDL's embrace of science and rationality and many aspects of modern life. This does not have to result in the diminution of the dharma, Tibetan Buddhism or Tibetan culture. Just once I would like for someone say the obvious, that as students of the dharma we believe in the ethical treatment of children, are living in the modern world where we will not turn a blind eye to abuse, along with the cultural explanations of why HHDL may have done this. The more that you don't at least acknowledge why people have taken it the wrong way, the more it looks like you are covering up for something. The more you include a condemnation of child abuse and vow to protect children, then if it is an attack by the CCP, then you will, of course, emerge with the moral upperhand. Many parents have failed to protect their children from Catholic priests and Jewish rabbis and other religious authority figures. Everyone is hesitant to accuse such a noble authority figure, and to take the blowback from the establishment and the community. People are often more interested in protecting the status quo and avoiding embarrassment, while children pay the terrible, devastating price. That is the truth. If this was a misunderstanding, explain that plainly as well as the ethical standards that Buddhist monks and nuns are required to maintain. Thank you for making this video. I have been trying to explain this to people in a rational and objectively. It has fallen on deaf ears. People are so quick today to look for or believe gossip. Without even thinking about it. Well said, I looked into it, there was nothing s%xual in anyway. The game that Elders play with kids ends with the Elder jokingly say "eat my tongue " in Tabetan eating and sucking refers to eating not s%xual. The DL made a mistake in language. That is it. Nothing more. The editing was deliberately misleading to make it sensational for the reason of scandal. People have become so caught up into exposing this person or that person that they don't stop to think is there a simple reason. Yes, it was a mistake with language nothing more. Not ever person in the public are secretly evil. The world isn't full of horrible people. Unfortunately, people have going to get up with believing gossip and conspiracy as the " new entertainment ". Sad that people can't think about different cultures and things in other cultures that they don't understand and just assume it must be nasty instead of playful.

I think that it could be an opportunity to talk about child abuse in monasteries, which is an issue. I have always loved HHDL. Just like other faiths have had to confront abuse issues despite much resistance from the establishment, if we wish for faith to be relevant in the future, this is one subject that must be confronted and addressed. This is in line with other aspects of HHDL's embrace of science and rationality and many aspects of modern life. This does not have to result in the diminution of the dharma, Tibetan Buddhism or Tibetan culture.
Just once I would like for someone say the obvious, that as students of the dharma we believe in the ethical treatment of children, are living in the modern world where we will not turn a blind eye to abuse, along with the cultural explanations of why HHDL may have done this. The more that you don't at least acknowledge why people have taken it the wrong way, the more it looks like you are covering up for something. The more you include a condemnation of child abuse and vow to protect children, then if it is an attack by the CCP, then you will, of course, emerge with the moral upperhand.
Many parents have failed to protect their children from Catholic priests and Jewish rabbis and other religious authority figures. Everyone is hesitant to accuse such a noble authority figure, and to take the blowback from the establishment and the community. People are often more interested in protecting the status quo and avoiding embarrassment, while children pay the terrible, devastating price. That is the truth.
