You should do it. It is an awesome race. I did it again last year but had to be rescued from the course after badly injuring my shin at 230 miles. As they say, if it was easy, everyone would do it :)
I'm considering signing up this year. Have you discovered any coping mechanisms for bottom of foot pain? That's what I suffer from mostly too.
