Zanny I want dark soul vid
that shut down saved you from getting addicted
@@american_venom5785 he already streamed dark souls so a vid is going to be out sooner or later
You should have chosen Meta or Tech. Its either joker or lex luthor.
Fire Knight? more like, Inferno Crusader
Only the OGs remember playing this game. Can't believe after all these years maybe even a decade, this game is still "somewhat" active and the servers are still up. So many memories.
Played it for a good 9 years before quitting in 2020. Not because of the population. It was actually decent enough to still be playing, but at some point you just get tired of the same thing.
But yea, the memories from this game, all the people in there. It's been a crazy adventure.
This was a flood of nostalgia.
The real ones remember Infinite Crisis MOBA - truly great game managed right into the cotdam toilet
I've played it like twice, loved making the character and getting out of the spaceship but couldn't get past the main hub
this was memories, played it for 3 years back in 2015.
shit game though...
This game jebaited me just like old republic. I saw the cutscene and was like “how did I miss a game like this?” Then I saw the gameplay and I’m like oh ok
It’s not jailbaiting when it’s a cinematic trailer, nobody expects the gameplay to look that good
@@GhostInPajamas kids and people unfamiliar with videogames might get fooled
even if it’s unintentional
Swtor is actually fun though.
If you played this game almost a decade ago it’d be a way better experience
@@rebornedv8963 true, even now I still remember seeing an ad for the game on TV once
Zanny in the very definition of "I tried this game just for laughs, been playing it for 48 hours straight now"
Everytime Zanny plays a comic based game I realize how fucking insane basic comic concepts are to the general public lmao
Nah maybe in the 70’s bro! Comic book concepts and science fiction and fantasy concepts are pretty well known these days, if anything it’s normalised now.
@@TheLeeBonner Nah, they ain't. People want to think that because the movies are popular but even then the movies are very toned down.
Zanny is just reviving random games now
Actually this game is suprisingly active
Yea? time for New World then!
DC universe is literally so active
There is still an active pvp scene too. I played it a few months ago.
Lol he should review. Good game like black ops 2
With SWTOR and now DCUO, Zanny's out here replaying my childhood
Wonder if he'll ever jump into the Arkham series

I used to play this game aggressively as a kid. I always come back occasionally. I think it’s cool you’re playing it
how does it hold up these days? its been ages since i logged in.
@@hammy9906 graphics were never updated so it doesn’t look much different from memory depending on when the last you played. The last power that was added is still I think munitions was the last and skimming is still the last movement they added. Theyve changed some of the systems but nothing that impacts normal lvl 1 to 30 gameplay except that you don’t choose powers but they give them to you and you can still choose weapon moves and movement abilities along with the iconic abilities. The end game is the same with pvp and the story missions being updated it would seem kinda regularly. They still lock any cash past 10k in escrow and you still get this time capsules. None of the level 1 -30 missions are different. TL;DR: the game is basically the same with slight changes over the years to end game story missions and a few skill trees
@@IneptPotato They've changed a lot about the game. The last power was water and escrow if I believe is removed. All of the dlc's/expansions are free as long as you meet the level requirements for them but the powers are still locked. They also have a daily reward system that replaces the vault but the vault comes back occasionally and the time capsules are still the same but you get like 7-18 fragments for it like every other day you log in. Combat revamp still is here and the game overall is less ptw even though artifacts and allies exist.
@@wizardmoments6689 unless there’s been an update in the last month I haven’t touched the game then escrow is still there. The expansions are the end game story missions I’m talking about. The vault was a daily thing so you can still go in there daily there would be no reason to remove it and the combat hasn’t changed in years. I still have muscle memory for all of the martial arts moves even though I don’t play the game often. The game is less pay to win but I never really needed to pay to win it just took ages to get to a decent level to fight people that did pay. Gear and stuff like that like always was earned from the missions you did post level 30. Plus they added the ptw system of literally skipping over the core game and getting a 258 CS character right off the jump.
@@IneptPotato I think escrow is there for ftp but premium and membership players have no escrow. I do agree with you however I just wish this game was marketed better moreso in its beginning because the game could've turned out much better than it is now.
I remember choosing nature as my power once, shit was lit. It's basically a druid from WOW. Gorilla form goated
I always chose me as my mentor and go on massive killing sprees that distract me from the story. Good times.
Yeah honestly imo nature was one of the cooler vanilla/non dlc powers cause you can transform into different animals as your ultimate abilities, which basically allows you to try every movement type because each form uses the different movements like the bug form you fly, gorilla form you have acrobatics and the werewolf form had superspeed, then theres the dog form lol where you are literally just a dog lmao.
imagine picking magic and pistols you just created one mavels villains basically the hood lmao
You actually get the coolest missions after level 30. Thats when you are suposed to reach after the 29 level long tutorial.
This game brings back a lot of memories.
Same
Good ones or bad ones
yeah i remember this
Good ones?
I remember playing this game years ago
you did choose the worst storyline, you can either be good or bad, eitherway you get essentially the same gameplay, wonderwomen/circe are magic based enemies in the chinatown region. Batman/Joker have brawler/gun based enemies in gotham. And Lex Luthor/Superman have metahuman based enemies in Metropolis

Oh man I played this game as a 12 year old back on the ps3 before even the green lantern dlc came out. I have no words this game gave me so many good memories. Played it again a few years ago, crazy to think that what we even see here has drastically updated presentation and animations.
I remember seeing this when I was younger, and it was the most bad ass thing I have ever seen, it looked so real, Kevin Conroy was voicing Batman, the story seemed interesting and finally being able to fight brainiac, I was so excited and then I saw the gameplay… it was the most disappointed I ever been in my life, but injustice 2 fulfilled my wishes and is my favourite fighting arcade game ever made
"I made sure to give myself flight powers. How do i get down? I have a fear of hights"

This game could've been extremely amazing had it had more attention shown to it by fans and the developers because for when it came out, this was a pretty bold idea imo. One thing that will always remain is that the cinematic intro will forever be insanely amazing and nostalgic.
This game is amazing. Its not the best mmo but it definitely has plenty to offer without even paying a dime
@@asundelgun3487tis true. This is an amazing 2nd or 3rd Playlist game. It's a vibe, especially if you have people. Even without its still decent
I've gotten to lvl 30 with atleast 3 or 4 different characters 😂
the hell are you talking about. this is a straight rip off from city of heroes and city of villains.
@@asundelgun3487 maybe 2-3 years ago, today its just a rotting husk of a money pit.
I remember watching people play this waaaaay back in the day. I remember them having a celebratory event where they unleashed several giant robotic enemies that were 10 or 20 levels over the level cap into the city and onto the heads of the awaiting players :)
I always got lost in the customization options for making a character. Had a lot of characters too, and even bought a subscription which offered significantly more options.
My favorite character was able to use military weapons as abilities, and I probably should’ve equipped a paid power to him too like Levitation, but I went with super speed. I called my custom hero Redite.
Looking back now I shouldn’t have wasted my money since a month or so later I stopped playing. It’s easy to get lost in mmo’s.
Same here, I honestly think I probably spent more hours in the character creation menu than I did actually playing the game and leveling them up😂
That's the point of MMOs.
Super speed is my favorite movement power. You just go so fast which makes sense
How much is it really compared to going to a show, movie, restaurant or bar? It's fine to spend money on something you get a month of enjoyment from.... Probably not like hundreds of dollars, but if you paid $15 bucks or whatever.... Lot more for your money than the movies.
@@mainingredient7429 relatable
I remember playing it back in the days... When people saw old batman dying in cinematics everyone were sure that he was alive and will go back in time but then everyone forget that it existed.
In the end he did survive
Zanny I know you aren’t getting caught up in an MMO right now, but if you could just do a 40 part series on this hilarious game that would be great

I remember playing this game so much, actually enjoyed and understood it. At least for early to mid game. My character was this tiny cat that looked like Batman. So like Catman. Had some wings on the back though and used black with red. I usually played the medic role but for some reason when I played in teams I usually came out as top for dps, healing, and support. I think those were 3 of the 4 stats or something? I just know I regularly topped for 3 different categories. I wasn’t even super op either. Only spent money once to try the dlc and then I stopped playing, it was fun though.
0:50 "Somehow, Brainiac returned"

Wow he gave you a heart don't edit your comment or else it will disappear
This game will always have a special place in my heart. I started back in 2012 and played religously until 2016. Since then, I've taken long breaks but I always return. DCUO set the standard for how I like an MMO to play and look in terms of the UI as well as how the loadout is displayed. In 2023, the devs are gonna be doing a graphics overhaul update as well as *FINALLY UPDATING PVP STUFF FOR ONCE AFTER 5 YEARS*
Also, if anyone wants to start up a Zanny league on DCUO for villains and heroes, hmu lmao.
EDIT: Zanny, the game REALLY starts when you hit level 30. Most if not all the DLCs are free rn if I'm not mistaken. And.. there's a button to press (R1 on a PS controller) that allows you to break out of a stun. That button might be just tapping your guard button rather than holding it.
hmm, I wouldn't mind joining a league. I haven't played in ages so imma be back at square one basically, but I have really fond memories of the game and can still remember most of my best builds
dude get a girlfriend or something
@@Jose-lf1gs dude get a life or something 🤣. Not sure why you felt the need to be negative to me but I hope your day gets better
Omg if they do an actual graphics overhaul i will lose my shit. I recently played it but stopped after not finding people for a certain raid and getting a little bored. But I hard grinded for 40-50 hours in just a lil comeback. If they do something big with pvp and graphics I will 100% check it out, thanks so much for bringing the news!
@@borislavfilev5742 no problem man!

Gotta appreciate how zanny almost said stop bitting my son and then immediately corrected himself.
This MMO is actually really fun from my perspective. It's one of the few games where you actually feel like you have superpowers, not just game mechanics.
There are actually a lot of fun player statistics that they publish online, just in rather convoluted data systems!
Let me know if you'd like fun facts or other data about the game!
Remember city of heroes

my best friend in elementry schools dad was a lead programmer on this game when it was in development so I got to test their alpha builds and visit the office and stuff. such good memories, I still have my same character from the alpha until now haha
If you're still in contact with him, please thank him for all of us, for the great time and great memories! It's one of those games from my childhood that I'll never forget. This video was a nostalgic watch.
Man, reminds me of the good times with a friend of mine.
Him: “We don’t need no healer”
Me: “aight ill stop healing”
*everyone dies*
The combat in this game is actually decently well thought out, and the player base is still very active. The combat for an mmo is actually much more involved than most I have played before, once you get to raids and needing to know how your power and skills work, you usually need to find a cycle with your powers and weapons, and depending on what role you are it can feel pretty different. Dps sometimes can be boring, but if you like big numbers and damage that's for you, I love tanking so I found a cycle for my rage power set that ensures i basically never die and it's very engaging as you have to actually keep it up and have your timing down to a T especially for the rage power. Each power works in its own way and each specialize in their own area.
7:20 YES, YEEEEEESSS! There is now balance in the Force
I remember playing this as a kid.
I wish I didn’t
A lot of presidential promises Dc Developers was making 🧐😂😂😭
Ahhh, so much good memories. I still remember my villain build, white haired women named Amberlash, glowing eyes, bat wings, flight power, blaster fighting style and telekintic powers. Played the hell out of the game until I Hit the game wall where you basically had to coop but back in the day that aspect of the game was pretty dead.
I played so many hours of DC Universe when I was in my preteen years. Was such a fun gaming experience especially for the comic book genre of it.
Did he ask who brainiac is, brainiac is the one of the most iconic superman villian
I remember playing this game when I was younger, I had no clue what the hell I was doing and forgot it existed.

“why would anyone live here? this place sucks” gotham in a nutshell
11:18 I've been listening to Phineas and Ferb songs a lot recently, so I'm qualified to say that was an excellent and cultured reference, Zanny.

I had completely forgot about this game, thanks for bringing back old memories.
The most fun part about this game is making your character
Never thought I’d see the day. Zanny playing DCUO. Absolutely loved this game growing up. Such a pain in the ass to download it on PS3 but thankfully they fixed that for PS4.
Exactly! OGs remember the very long PS3 download time
You’ve just given me ptsd of trying to download it
When the game was shutting down

Zanny just accurately simplified the batman who laughs which causes a visceral reaction within me but he is also right so there's nothing I can do about it.
@Ryan John he's jokerized batman yeah yeah I know.
Lol I've never clicked on one of your videos so fast. Never thought you'd play this game. I found this game about 3 years ago after I got burnout from a lot of time spent in different fps games. This was the first mmo I'd ever played and it is what eventually got me into giving destiny 2 a try. I recently just logged back into dcuo for the first time in like a year and half so the timing of this video is crazy. For anyone wondering this game is definitely not for everyone. To really be able to enjoy it you need to do a few things. First you need to really enjoy the dc comic universe and have at least basic knowledge of characters/storyline as there is 10 years worth of content diving pretty deep into a lot of events from the comics that most people don't know about. Second you need to be able to not get tired of a pretty repetitive combat system. Third you need to accept the fact that this game was made over 10 years ago, although some of the graphics/character models have gotten some much needed updates in recent years. The difference between the looks of recently added character models compared to the older ones is pretty striking. And fourth, you need to be ready to either accept that most of the game is behind a pay wall, or be ready to spend at least a couple hundred dollars if you want all the powers/amenities/extra inventory space as they barely give you any for free/character slots(you get 2 free with a max of 32). Honestly I think how much of this game isn't free is what keeps the population from being even higher although for how old it is the fact that at certain hours of the day you can find quit a lot of people on is pretty impressive. Seems to be mostly either brand new people giving the game a try or people who have played for forever. My advice for things new players shouldn't do, don't get too involved in the in-game economy, don't CR skip(combat rating), don't try it unless you have a lot of time to dedicate to it, and do not fall for the trap that are "time capsules" as the rng is terrible and to get what you want from them requires a significant amount of real world money.
My favorite thing about this game though definitely has to be the voice acting. Although a lot of the npcs acting and dialog is terrible and repetitive, the main characters feature some of the best actors especially if you're older and grew up with them like Kevin Conroy as batman for example. Although I doubt it, I'd love to see zanny do another video on this game as there is so much to it and so much that he could make funnier than it already is.
Ngl. This game was actually fun as hell.
Wasn't expecting a GEE CEE PEE DEE joke from zanny
6:33 The definitive MCU writing.

Can't wait for Zanny to inadvertently spend 3 actual months playing this after thinking it would be a quick meme.
Honestly, the early Metropolis missions of either side are pretty silly.
Superman: You start off fighting evil gorrilas that forcefully make people return to monke.
Lex Luthor: You turn high school students into monsters by giving them vaccines.
Supes and Lex: After the previously mentioned parts, you'll be sent to fight off bee cosplayers stealing the stuff that gave you your superpowers.
Wonder Woman: You fight Egyptian cosplayers and their zombie hordes.
Circe: You summon demons in Chinatown.
W.W. and Circe: After the previously mentioned parts, you'll have to either corrupt the (no longer Teen) Titans or save them to ensure/prevent the rise of DC Satan.
Meanwhile, in Gotham, it gets a lot darker.
Batman: You are in the middle of an area full of Scarecrow's fear gas and have to face off against hallucinations that can be friend, foe or just plain nothing.
Joker: You start a freaking GANG WAR while blowing up police cars and setting cops on fire.
Bats 'n Jokes: After that, you'll find that Bane is back and he's selling his super steroids. Now you'll have to beat up lots of roid-rage thugs and eventually beat up Bane himself.
After all that, the three stories pretty much merge into a single on-going narrative with a mentor-specific mission at level 15 and 30.
Also, the "Batman Who Laughs" isn't just the Joker in Batman's suit, he's Batman with the Joker's insanity. All of Batman's skills, tactics and experience, combined with the craziness and unpredictability of the Joker.
it is unbelievable that this game is 13 years old and has at least 3K members on just the PC/PS port, not counting ftp's.
And that it's got a switch port. I stopped playing for a while and the episode count went from 26 to like 42
*I play a Female Acrobatic Villain with Nature powers and a big Two-Handed hammer.*

Always love a new zanny upload :) always has me laughing
you just revived so many memories of playing this game with my brother and sister that i had completely forgot about
Genuinely one of the best powers by far simply for the versatility is shapeshifting like Beastboy, you get every single movement ability and can be monkey mode always
i love how zanny makes any game look fun
I never would have expected you to play DCUO, I used to play it all the time like 5+ years ago lmao
Damn and I still remember every single line of dialogue from the main quest lines
This is the absolute last game I ever expected you to play, but as a game I spent a few thousand hours in, it was a nice blast from the past, the early content back when it was owned by SOE, before they became Daybreak had some of the highest quality VAs and interesting storylines/ cutscenes of the time imo. The back and forth of Future Lex vs Future Bats all the way to the payoff in the Prime Battleground was something I'll never forget. But it's definitely a game that heavily encourages you to by a membership, since you're basically money capped from buying the CR 70 gear at 1,500. But what really shined for the longest time, was this game's pvp arenas. Some of the most chaotic and fun pvp you could get your hands on. Sadly their balancing team couldn't keep up with everything being added, and it got sidelined for years. But still has some great content in the form of raids and pvp legends. The cosmetics and customization for a hero game is the best in the genre, with an achievement system you will become very familiar with in more endgame content. Stay far away from the market, time capsules, booster boxes, and the like. They will drain your wallet faster than you realize. All of that aside, one of the best game I ever enjoyed my time in.
I remember when I played this, the best part was nailing melee combos, there's a ton so you don't really mess up no matter what haha
I fucking loved this game in 2018. in fact my brother showed it to me in 2015 and I was fucking in love with it
I love how Zanny has only watched the movies doemt recognise all the others at all.
*THIS GAMES TRAILER HYPED ME UP SO MUCH !! tho I still can’t figure out why flash was doing nothing but running around lol*
It's so weird that Dr. Fate is a hero when Nabu is literally possessing people without thier consent and forcing them to bend to his will until they die.
