I've been watching F1 for 40 years. I always end up getting bored of dominance and end up disliking drivers who win all the time. Senna changed that for me. Once we lost him, I realized how great he was. I promised I would never do that again. I did with Schuey. Not with Max though. He has shown over and over how completely dominant he is. No teammate can compete with him. He truly is a generational talent. Good luck to anyone who pairs up with him next year.
@@Fan_Lidla We don't know what they agreed to. Carlos did let him pass, so I don't see the issue. There's a difference between holding him up with needless fighting and just passing him and driving off.
Sainz had every right not to yield. Leclerc was out of the championship so it didn't actually matter which order the Farraris finished, so long as they got 3rd and 4th, it makes no difference to the constructors.
Also, after the first stint, they pitted Leclerc before Sainz, even though Sainz was in front and also indicated his tyres were fried. So basically, they try to let Leclerc undercut his teammate, screw up Sainz' pitstop, give Sainz team orders to let Leclerc through twice and Charles still complain. They should have a talk...
Also if the radio came anywhere near how it played on tv the timing of the radio was just wrong, SAniz got the message not to pas Charles, when he was already pasing him
Leclerc cooked his tires fighting Russell at the front. I am almost suspicious he got floor damage tangling with Russell with how quickly he fell off. It was a night and day difference.
Yeah, they did well with that. They have to handle the fact that the wdc was won by a driver not on the podium, without stealing the thunder of the driver who actually won the race. I remember that being a bit of a weird situation in the 2018 Mexican GP. Lewis celebrating took away from the podium ceremony. Mind you, I'm not blaming Lewis for this. The organizers should have had some idea in place. Vegas did that very well!

Lewis wasn’t going to fight George, George had pace to pull away from the field early and was preserving his tires the second half of the race on the hards. So if Lewis qualified higher, George still had pace to stay ahead. Would have been interesting but no slam dunk for Lewis.
@@TheNorville2 the fact that Lewis never made it closer than 5 seconds to russell shows that GR had plenty of pace in store. The second George saw Lewis in the mirrors, his laptimes did improve by around 4 tenths (see laptimes for the laps 44-46) Towards the end George manage to pull a 8 second lead as well.
I don't think Vegas can be the last race when they keep adding races to the schedule and that pushes the date back which will make an already controversial track conditions even worse.
Yeah... No way Las Vegas can be the final race AND be a night race. That's just unnecessarily dangerous AND annoying for the majority of the viewers who have to get up before the baker starts to see live.
I think the relief with RB is so big not because McLaren was on top for months, but because Verstappen wasn't in the fight. He was a sitting duck at a certain point, he was not able to defend his gap to Norris. They must have felt it was just happening to them rather than just on the backfoot.
Regarding Carlos, he got the radio message that he shouldn't attack CHarles, when he already was in the attack, at least that is how it played out on tv, so if he gets the message too late than its not really his fault or thick headedness.

I was going to suggest swapping COTA and Vegas, get slightly milder weather for COTA and a warmer Vegas. I'm on board with the reasoning behind making it the final race but I wonder if F1 can afford for it to be even more brisk later in the year.
Um lewis vs Alonso vs Max vs McLaren vs Russell vs Charles is going to be real SPICY if everything is goes well a 7 way consistent fight will be THE JOKER OF JOKER'S WILD of a season.we think 2021 was nuts.we will need to coin this a senna as it will be "Brazilian nuts"
I think after the hype of the mid season swap of Colapinto is starting to fade, people are remembering what type of team Williams has been for years now. Don't forget Vowles told they were using Excel to keep inventory at the factory when he arrived. I wonder how much of that repair bill was caused by drivers overdriving to extract anything from that car. And unlike Sauber/Audi they are not having upcoming positive news or partnerships on the factory side of things. Even Alpine will get competent engines in 2026 with Mercedes. I feel Williams can be left behind hard in the coming years much like they were suffering before the Dorilton adquisition 😢
I honestly wouldn’t mind Vegas being the last race over Abu Dhabi. Though I do like Abu Dhabi’s day-to-night race shtick, I think that looks quite cool.
To be fair, I am some what of an old McLaren fan when Ron was running it, then he cheated, then I installed distance. But M4X slam dunking the Phony Snack Brown was Class.
17:09 If given a good car next year by Newey, Fernando will challenge Verstappen like no other because of how aggressive he can be and how risky he likes to drive
I don't think it's a mistake that they didn't have the correct wing with them; they simply didn't make a wing for this circuit because, due to the budget cap, they prioritized other things. That's quite a difference.
I saw from the post race interview that Mclaren finally found pace nearing the end of the race. Apparently, the engineers tweak a lot of things in the car mid race settings wise on top of Lando changing driving styles. Andrea said he was equal on pace with George but unfortunately it was too late. Hopefully the car will be more competitive next year for both Lando and Oscar !
There's no way the final race is in Las Vegas unless they shorten the season. Aside from all the lawsuits that may finish it all together, we actually have a winter here. The fact F1 has dodged it twice is pure luck.
3rd video, so I guess it is time to subscribe. Your way of selecting slightly different way to create these videos is great choice and the content is great so keep it up man!
If checo instead of passing that masterful overtake has had crashed, perhaps would allow Verstappen to get 4th or 3rd and get more points for red bull xD
It wasn't slow in the straight at all. RBR was just hiding their strength. During the quali, RBR was reaching 348-349km without slipstream. Mercedez, for example, was at 347 most. Ferrari 350. So, RBR's straightline speed was never the problem.
@@yoeriw7099true, but also George was one of the few drivers who didn’t go over track limits last year, so if the same rules are in place, could make it interesting
People shitting on Colapinto, especially given how his Brazil crash was 100% on the team for not listening to him when he asked for Wets, are talking out their ass.
I agree that Las Vegas should be the final race of the year. However, the track is quite unique in comparison to the other tracks and could cause top teams to fumble when it is a "title decider" type of race.
I think rubbishing Lawson like you did here was a bit unfair. Yuki has been in that car every race for 4 years, his 22nd race this year. Liam was in his 4th race this year, a year with no racing! Yes Yuki had a great race and good on him. But he only evened the score with Liam, 2 each!
I didn't notice Leclerc acting up on the radio, and I'm honestly a bit disappointed by how Ferrari and Leclerc treated Carlos this race. Carlos deserved a podium today, and I firmly believe he would've gotten 2nd place if they let him pit before Lewis. I like Charles, but this was very disappointing. Also, a Las Vegas finale? No way! I'm not getting up that early.
The only issue with having Vegas as the last race of the season is WEATHER. The average high is 57F/14C & the average low is 39F/4C. So uh, while the glitz and glamor and spectacle says its a good idea, its winter in a desert.
For Bottas....Mercedes is coming back to endurance racing and who knows....their AMG 1 possible hypercar might be entered in and Bottas might enter under the Mercedes banner....
Overall... Well I cant wait to see the stats at the end of the year... But Max may have won a championship in the third fastest car statistically. 2021 was already impressive since it was the second best car and 2023 was very special since it was not the car with the best pace advantage in history! This guy is off the chart special. 👏👏👏
I think Lawson was under orders to play the team game and not fight Perez (twice) or Yuki and try and keep Kmag from scoring. At least he hasn't crashed yet. But the tyre strategy was strange since htey left him out too long.
When the other driver is 5 mil ( team total 7 mil) in crash damages that takes budget out of advancements, hence the wing issue. RB are openly telling it because they waiting for final decision on Checo after the final race. As Lawson and Tsunoda are both in there own fight for Construstors as a team. So RedBull is buying its time. This is called management at its best. Oh yeah rememeber, reduced budget of 135 mil this year and RB overshot 140 mil. Last year... So add that into contention they shd be on a thin rope. Similar Merc they openly declared no more upgrades due to buget limitations.
I dont, starting from pitlane to P14 with a totally new card with spare parts and new setup to me is pretty good, and teams value that fans not so much.
I would love to see Las Vegas become the last race of the season. But we won’t be able to see that until at least 2031 and that’s assuming Las Vegas renew their contract in 2025
Carlos isn't Charles' problem... it's the team and their slow reactions. The issues with the Ferrari's this race were avoidable and would have been avoided if they had listened to Sainz.
Yeah all fairness to Vegas, I concede to the fact it has given us a pretty solid race with very little hiccups and no life threating events for the drivers. I really would not mind it having the finale of the season. It would be a damn size better than the likes of Abu Dhabi or Jedah. And to your point Laws, we have plenty of tracks deserving of being the final race of the season but only one gets that honor. But its better for the sport as a whole that we get these brilliant tracks spread throughout the season.
Yeah I didn't expect much from Lawson tbf, Vegas is def an outlier in terms of the challenges it brings with it (Weird temps leading to heavy reliance on tyre control mixed with the lack of experience in the car compared to Tsunoda) idk it just was never gonna be a stunner. Could probably have done better than he did though
I was thinking about what you said and saw an article about George Russell, and I've just never been able to take to him at all. He has this really arrogant side to him that his overall results have just never been able to justify. He gets a good result and his head inflates, every time. Taking shots at Norris with comments how Verstappen hasn't had a 'proper fight', as if one win and suddenly he's the main man going for the title. Sorry George, but you've got a long way to go before you prove yourself a real contender. Enjoy your win - you earned it, you deserve it - but until you've shown you can challenge for the title you have no right to be taking shots at anyone.
I watched the race, it was ok, I guess. The race remains a flat track street circuit that is as interesting as the inside of an empty drawer. I am glad they tuned down the celebrity BS although they still got more coverage than they deserved. F1 was still only a side show of the weekend so no, this GP will never rank as anything particular as a race weekend - it was no better than the Miami race. Certainly has nothing on the Austin / COTA race. I personally think F1 could have more wisely spent the money on a dedicated track in the Las Vegas area served by an adequate and cost effective rail service - for both teams and spectators - to respond to the sustainability goals.
Compared to other street circuits it’s definitely one of the best imo. A lot more over takes than others and the back drop of the Vegas strip is rather unique. Now I agree with the celebrity and side show stuff they do is a clown show but the track and race itself is really solid. If they had built a purpose built track near Vegas there’d be no reason for them to even have it in Vegas. If you want elevation changes F1 should go to Barber Motorsports Park, that place is a roller coaster.

And let's discuss Vasseur barely remembering to applaud Sainz when he climbed the podium.
And yet he said he wasn't bothered about the words.
@LawVS actions vs. words, usually we are advised to pay attention to actions
If Lec is complain about Sainz now... Get ready to see him crying next year as Lewis battle him over the cookies in breakfast even...
It's not just about battling. They had an order that Carlos did not follow
Leclerc must overtake norris in 2nd Position
@@driesvanoosten4417 ferrari never change. how can anyone take them seriously when the team keeps making joke decisions like these.
F1 made a great decision by having Max park up on the start/finish line at the end of the race and put him in the Limo procession.
Yeah that was wild tbf! I don't understand what/who the third limo was for though...? I guess maybe Liberty Media/F1 head execs??
prolly was for the top 3 like how they do in miami ,but since max took the wdc, they had to improvise, that's just my take@@littleclum
Sainz just a chill guy trying to enjoy his last few races at a top team.
Yea but now he'll never ever get a chance at a top team again......but hey as long as he drove better than his teammate 😂😂🔥🔥🔥
Hes just a solid driver annoying an all time great in leclerc
@@mrbungle3310 atg.... relax. i love leclerc but hasn't done anything yet
@issahgyandi3365 what? Anything ? Have you watched at least 2024? I mean sure he hasn't won a title but apart from early 2022 he never had a full season of a race winning car
@@delgardodavids2503 well if u think about it, being in a top team is still not enough in f1. u kinda need to be in the best team to have any chance in the wdc anyways so its not like he lost anything.
Am I the only one who cannot really see the Vegas landmarks, except for helicopter shots? It's all illuminated fencing.
The race looked completely empty, didn't it?? 🤔
Everyone's watching the same broadcast....so why would you be the only who can't see the landmarks....?
@benjaminz2523 cause F1 commentators keeping uuuhing and ahhing about this or that landmark, and I am constantly thinking "WHERE?!?!"
The tickets aren’t selling because they’ve priced everyone out. Semi local to Las Vegas and it’s less expensive for me to fly to just about any other GP
True but hopefully prices will come down more in line with other races.
@ truly hope so! I do think the grandstand deal they partnered with Lewis on is a step in the right direction
Lewis wasn’t going to fight George, George had pace to pull away from the field early and was preserving his tires the second half of the race on the hards. So if Lewis qualified higher, George still had pace to stay ahead. Would have been interesting but no slam dunk for Lewis.
Do you know that as a fact? or do you think he had more pace?.
That's just unnecessarily dangerous AND annoying for the majority of the viewers who have to get up before the baker starts to see live.
would love to see Yuki in the Andretti/GM/Cadillac/who tf knows team if they keep looking as promising as they do
I think the relief with RB is so big not because McLaren was on top for months, but because Verstappen wasn't in the fight. He was a sitting duck at a certain point, he was not able to defend his gap to Norris. They must have felt it was just happening to them rather than just on the backfoot.
I saw a comment elsewhere saying that you could have George start first and Lewis last and they'd somehow find a way to finish next to each other
Yeah George should’ve finished P0 and Lewis P2 #washed
@@Blackhole-go3sx toto? Why so bitter?
Regarding Carlos, he got the radio message that he shouldn't attack CHarles, when he already was in the attack, at least that is how it played out on tv, so if he gets the message too late than its not really his fault or thick headedness.
On TV the messages r delayed
Radio messages are ALWAYS delayed by like 2-5 minutes. So Carlos ignored that. I welcome, no more mr nice guy Leclerc, especially since he has Lewis next years, and he won't pull any punches.
@@luckymo_on I just wathced an analyses from a journo that was there in german and he also said the message was not relayed in time to carlos
@@betaich it was a bit on the nose but it was early enough for him to take action I watched his on board and that's what I felt U can go and check obviously
But he did give max drs dude that's what I personally find unacceptable
I mean i still think checo should go, but my god that double overtake 3 wide into turn 14 was majestic
In another parallel universe, Checo would have gone to Williams and Carlos to RedBull.
2:20 Unfortunately for McLaren, Max Verstappen is Max Verstappen
Still dont understand what lecrec means. He is the more agressive with team mates.
Your Toto impression is always world class
Been waiting for your video ladder dude! Congratulations to Max and Mercedes team. P.s really enjoyed the awkward drive of Max and GP, love GP.
10:37 What a great impression of Fred !
Kinda weird seeing your recaps on Sunday rather than the usual Monday.
I doubt it really matters that Lance didn’t have the radio since the team strategy for him is basically “just go out there and have fun”
Can you imagine a championship challenge with Alonso, Hamilton and Max…. Wow I wouldn’t know who’s shirt to wear that Sunday
17:09 If given a good car next year by Newey, Fernando will challenge Verstappen like no other because of how aggressive he can be and how risky he likes to drive
Newey starts in March. The new AMR is already in development.
I don't think it's a mistake that they didn't have the correct wing with them; they simply didn't make a wing for this circuit because, due to the budget cap, they prioritized other things. That's quite a difference.
It's time for Mateflix !
Zhou is my winner, so close
I like Carlos and the “try talking to him in Spanish” was great
i’m glad that lewis got a 1-2 finish but i fear the next two races will be a nightmare finish for merc
I don’t know. George is really good at Qatar’s undulating track. I could see a podium, but they likely won’t have this pace.
they said so themselves, the hotter tracks don't suit the car
@@yoeriw7099true, but also George was one of the few drivers who didn’t go over track limits last year, so if the same rules are in place, could make it interesting
1:35 the entire rear E R R O R package... Well said.
the "crossing the white line on pit entry" only counts when the driver actually going to the pit
or when leaving tge pit
Becoming the world champion in the third best car makes you the goat of F1. No one has ever done that before.
Congratulations to Max a deserved 4th World Title.
People shitting on Colapinto, especially given how his Brazil crash was 100% on the team for not listening to him when he asked for Wets, are talking out their ass.
Indeed. Franco made a mistake and Brazil was easily the team not heeding their own driver.
But the crashes made a dent in his desirability for other F1 teams.
he still crashed under the safety car tho. so it was not 100% on the team.
Why do people make as if Mclaren had the fastest car all season? Did Redbull not have a second a half advantage at the start of the season.
Max said himself that Red Bull didn't have the fastest car for two thirds of the year.
Mclaren had the fastest car since miami, which was race 6 if I remember correctly. And Max had a DNF in the first dominant races as well.
I agree that Las Vegas should be the final race of the year. However, the track is quite unique in comparison to the other tracks and could cause top teams to fumble when it is a "title decider" type of race.
If F1 is going to use the Las Vegas GP as it's penultimate race in the future then Pirelli is going to have to develop some Ice tires. 🥶
Pirelli do have some good winter tires😂
Fastest winners and losers upload ever!
With how Red Bull treats Yuki I'm afraid they drop him once Honda is a byebye :/
I was a life long ferrari fan and Chef that hopes The American team comes on in 2026 which I will surly be my team
Just remembered they kept him out for a one stop for most of the race and then extremely late pulled him in lol another masterful VCARB gambit
The Leclerc chicane is in Baku 😏
Vegas is too cold at night for the finale in December
such a good race, i can’t wait until this can be the finale proper
Uh bro, as a Vegas local, this city is the entertainment capital NOT the sports capital. NOT EVEN CLOSE
Love LawVS videos
Cant wait for zhou/leclerc lineup so charels can breathe and dominate
The Constructors championship is the one that will go down to the end 😊
I actually think you’re onto something about team principal. He’s cutting his teeth on his e-team.
I dunno why Fernando needs a fountain of youth. He is still a rookie
Checo might have, could have, maybe would have... But he didn't, did he? He rarely does...
MAX VERSTAPPEN 4XWDC 🇳🇱🧡 SIMPLY LOVELY 🇳🇱🧡
All hail Super M4X.
Yes, our stint begins 😂
Yuki really deserves Checo's seat
