What’s another legendary lick people don’t know is legendary? 🤔
Love this channel
Anything by Queensrÿche
Shortest straws chorus riff, heavy af with those 0-1-0 powerchords
The interlude riff before the guitar solo in Pink Floyd’s “Pigs (Three Different One)”, it’s one of my favourite songs off _Animals_ and the sound David Gilmour gets (chorus/flanger) is so good
Black sabbath black masquerade
Legendary licks that you didn't know we're played on bass
I sense some possible Cliff Burton Legendary Licks could make their way into this one.
That one lick before the solo in Stranglehold
Basically metallica

Legendary licks that aren’t delivery (because they’re digiorno)

Legendary licks you thought were riffs but they are actully just legendary riffs that are licks that you didnt know how to play (but you did) but you thought it was hard because it is hard (because it is easy)

I will forever back 'The Metal' as being one of the best riffs ever.
its similar to White Zombie - Planet MF
I may be one year behind, but I follow you, and I back 'The Metal'
The Metal will live on!

Can you elaborate pls i dont really understand what you meant but i'd like to know.
@@Lovi07 there are specific type of videos that content creaters on youtube know that will get more views and publicity due to the way the yotube algorithem works. Videos similar to this will be on the recommended bar next to videos you watch more often, which means they are "prefered" by the youtube algorithem. Hopefully i made it more clear =)
Yeah. I think he's either doing that or the video might have been taken down. If he is that would get old after a while because (when he's not re-uploading his vids) he actually makes solid content.

Some other riffs
- Pink Floyd - “Pigs (Three Different Ones”) interlude riff
- The Beatles - “Taxman” guitar solo (Some may not know that Paul McCartney played the solo and not George Harrison)
- Depeche Mode - Personal Jesus main riff
- Queen - Tie Your Mother Down main riff
You shook me all night long chorus
well these are licks and not riffs. And there are tons of better Floyd riffs. Like Young lust, keep talking, Fearless, Learning to Fly and In The Flesh are probably their best riffs. I mean the pigs one is barely a riff. They're just playing chords really.
DIDUKNOWDAT .URANIDIOT? I just always thought the effects were what helped make it stand out when I first heard it, but yeah, I do agree with songs like Young Lust, In the Flesh and Learning to Fly
@@andrewpappas9311 Well animals is an amazing album and pigs is a great song, i never personally saw the intro chords as a riff, thats what i meant. :)
DIDUKNOWDAT .URANIDIOT? Fearless is my very favorite Floyd tune, on my very favorite Floyd album. Start to finish, it's perfect. Couldn't be any better without getting worse.
I'm always so happy to see people giving RHCP the respect they deserve for how skilled they are, and how awesome so many of their licks and riffs are.
So cool you included Incubus in this one. Mike Einziger is incredibly underrated as a songwriter and guitarist. Noone mentions them ever, sadly.
agree and i feel the same about tim mahoney and nick hexum!
you mean he? dumbass
100% agree! He's NEVER gotten the credit he deserves! He's written SOOOOOOOO MANY incredible guitar riffs and, for whatever reason, no one seems to recognize it! Dig, The Warmth, Drive, Mexico, Crowded Elevator, Circles, Consequence, Just a Phase (so beautiful and unique), and so many more! It would be easier to name the songs that aren't amazing on guitar! He uses effects in super interesting ways too! He is, in my opinion, one of the most creative writers of the 90s and 2000s!

A Crow Left of the Murder is one of my favorite rock albums ever, so I got very giddy to hear someone talk about Sick Sad Little World ❤️
I loved that you included "Sick sad little world" in this list, is on of my top 3 incubus songs. Even when I'm primarily a bass player, I groove on guitar too and i'm always doing stuff to improve a little every day. Keep going Tyler! greetings from Argentina.
Hell yeah the verse part of Under the Bridge is the best and most fun to play part of the song
I'm struggling with it. I went for Californication first. Then Otherside. Aso learning the 1st solo for Comfortably Numb nuts but I digress.
that part was what got me really hooked on the song, not the intro.
Dude, I thought "pfft Tenacious D is very famous, everyone knows this lick". But then I saw they have less followers on YT then you... good job on that man. You nailing it.
Its surprising how many people havent heard of Tenacious D, Or jack black for that matter. Which is sad.
Walk this way was so on point. That verse riff combined to the intro riff is pure gold. I mean it is just that stuff you think ”how the hell I didn’t came up with that idea”.
A friend from the Army recommended your channel to me about a month ago when I mentioned that I was thinking of taking lessons to learn to play...I'm glad he did! I've played my guitar more in the last month than I have in the last year thanks to you. Seriously, your videos make me want to learn and play. Yep, I signed up for Guitar Super System too! Gotta go practice now! Thanks for what you're doing here Tyler, it really has made a difference for me, learning guitar at 49 years old, FINALLY.

Holy shit, I'm so stoked you put Sick Sad Little World in there. That song had such a huge influence on my playing!
You’re doing an awesome work of keeping it alive. Keep rocking
The last one, The metal super underrated. Thanks man
That lick from "the metal" is so quintessential rock riffs on the neck I actually questioned if it already basically existed. That they made a unique sounding riff in such a over played place on the neck delights me.
Yes it's all been played before. But that they found a totally unique sounding riff that screams "tenacious d" makes me wanna play and find the next great quintessential rock riff
Mike has the coolest chords. They just sound so distinctive. They’re really kind of opened my mind to what can sound good, even though you might think it would sound terrible on paper. That’s genius right there.
Great video again. Always given the best by Tyler. Keep it up, cheers!
Legendary licks you didn’t know were out of tune
Like Dream On, for example?
Hammer to Fall by Queen?
Cooper Willey any dimebag riff
The solo for crazy little thing called love is very slightly sharp/or flat I dont exactly remember
Paranoid
Legendary licks that shouldn't be legendary
Great video, so many awesome mini-lessons packed in! I love the hendix-ey triad flourishes.
The syncopated drums in the Sick Sad Little World interlude compliment that riff so much and make it truly legendary
Legendary licks that are so legendary that you can lick them
I agree with these sooo much! Always had more fun playing these parts of these songs than the actual riffs. Good job!
Dude, yes! Crow came out my senior year of high school. That album influenced me so much, and you are 100% correct, sick sad little world feels like a masterpiece. Lots of memories coming back, bravo sir.
Legendary licks you didnt know were actually Desposito in disguise.

@@unknowngaming1432 why not
@@Punttipate62 well its a bit boring and to me TOO simple to be legendary status. Imagine if a song was made and all it was, was someone picking each string of the guitar going from lowest to highest then back down repeating. Would you consider that to be in the same league as RHCP or Metallica?
@@unknowngaming1432 metallica nothing else matters riff is literally just open strings and its still legendary. also seven nation army is very simple and its legendary. just because it's simple doesn't mean it's not legendary

Back in my late teens, when I was still playing guitar on a regular basis, my drummer buddy and I used to jam "The Metal" all the time. It's just one of those songs that never failed to get people riled up, like the "Mario Bros. Theme" or the King of the Hill intro song. Absolutely legendary.
I have some Incubus tracks, but never heard Sick Sad Little World before this video. I’ve listened to it non stop for the past day! Thank you so much for bringing it into my life!!! Epic!
RHCP :D my favorite band
Agreed about Under the Bridge. It's a great riff - because it's Hendrix-esque.
GurktheBrutal and this guy plays it awful
Rebel Rebel yeah, why does he play it with triads? the guitarist plays the full chord except he uses the thumb on the e string. also why does he treat triads like their so good, they are just 3 note chords, nothing special about them imo
Holy sh#@!! So cool to hear a Mike's riff, I'm also a big fan of Incubus so thank you very much!! Love your content, keep shredding 🤘

The Metal is in drop D, isn't it? So the E power chord is just barring the second fret. That's how I've always played it, especially since the outro is definitely in drop D.
