Well...looking at so many videos of Whitney on UA-cam.. every day....you should know....the 'fan's' always tell us...'She was sick here'....'She had a cold here'...''She was tired here'...yes, you know better than of us how she felt...thank you for your insight,.....
@@gregwoolliscroft6255 I understand what you mean but she clearly had a congested nose and had the typical symptoms of a cold maybe allergies. she had such symptoms during the first and second night. so probably this. catching a cold on another continent in spring is normal, but of course i don't know 100% just guessing.
+Marlon Mckenzie You're right, Marlon. I've watched this video countless times, and it never ceases to amaze me. THIS is the Whitney I fell in love with in the 1980's. Pure magic.
Magnifica...una voce potente che restituisce forza ad ogni uomo!...l' amore è l' arma più potente esistente al mondo che ogni uomo dovrebbe mettere in pratica con la stessa determinazione , delicatezza e spontaneità di questa grande cantante!
I agree. I listen carefully with earphones and you can clearly hear on her voice that she has colds but her voice was perfect! How could anyone do this. Only THE VOICE! GOD BLESS YOUR SOUL NIPPY🙏🙏🙏🙏
I might get dragged for saying this but there is no single artist or singer around today who can even come close to the raw vocal ability that Ms. Houston had no one mainstream at this very moment has talent that can even come close she was the greatest God Rest her Soul
There are no words in any language to even begin to express the talent this woman possessed. There will never be another that even comes close to the beautiful instrument that was her voice. ( THE VOICE ). She would just open her mouth and you were instantly mesmerized.I love and miss you dearly. I look to you very often to get me through some of my most trying times. My faith in God is unwavering. Love Always, Michael Page XOXO
WHITNEY!!!! From 5:35-5:45 she went ALL IN!! She had to back away from the mic she was feeling it too much lol. Had to end it with a lil melisma excellence! Gotta love Whitney! She was in her prime here!
No I think the best live version for this song was in 1989 when she sang for her mother's honor event. She sang with the Winans, her cousin, and Luther that night as well.
In one video that i've watched she was asked if there was one song that she wanted to sing on her shows, but couldn't do it, it is GREATEST LOVE OF ALL, the song was beaten up by I Will always Love you,. The team will vote for the two and the latter would always win.
Oh my The Greatest Voice of All Time what a performance despite being poorly.this lady was truly gifted and special no one could sing a song like Ms.Houston.she truly sang from her heart she was the Gold standard of singing there will never be another talent like Whitney Houston she was the IT factor she was naturally beautiful, had such poise elegance and class.
I don't like to declare one singer is "better" than another but, to me, there is really no one to compare this woman to. Her voice just soars and it seems so easy for her.
ouvi hoje em 2024 essa versão numa rádio da net, fiquei arrepiada parei tudo para ouvir. Graças a Deus achei aqui essa versão, realmente emocionante meu Deus.
This performance is incredible, shows the fantastic level of control she had, even when she had a cold ;-) I thought the version for the forces in the USA was good, but this tops any performance anywhere!! What a loss to the music business :(
I've got shivers watching this. What a build up to the end. She was amazing in the 90's which is how i remember her and want to remember her. What a loss and shame.
lord have mercy this lady is the best of them all , i love her with all my heart , and you wouldn't think or believe that she's sick or have a cold by the way she's hitting them notes and singing
+perth45 Though I'm sure she would like to take credit, I don't think she had anything to do with Whitney's talent or success. Other than actually birthing her and exposing her to the church choir, her mother did nothing. I think you could have dropped Whitney into a household in the middle of nowhere, and she would still have risen as one of the greatest voices of our generation. Just my opinion.
+GospelAccording2ME I'm sure she at least gave her some tips. Over breakfast or something. Even Whitney said she taught her some stuff. Whatever the case, I wouldn't reject singing lessons from Cissy.
+Angel F. Truth be told, I wouldn't either. Cuss accomplished a lot and has an impressive resume. However, the gift Whitney possessed wasn't taught...it was a gift. She would have had the same gifts and talents had she been born to different parents. It was divine and predestined.
+GospelAccording2ME I agree and disagree. If Whitney had been born to different parents, she wouldn't have possessed the same genetic make up that gave her those vocal chords, nasal cavity, facial bone structure, etc. All those things that made her voice what it was, were genetically given to her by Cissy and John. But I understand what you're saying...if, for example, Whitney had been given up for adoption at birth or raised by different parents then, yes, I agree with you that she would be just as naturally talented.
+perth45 that's a part of Whitney, you must accept it. I think that wild, aggressive and natural part of her is what kept her different from the others in her family. It created the Whitney Houston on fire you see on stage. I think drugs did help her become such a great performer
I thought her 1992 tribute to Ali was the best version she sang this song but she really sangggg this night this the best version and I've seen em all she sang this song different each time
She been through it all and to come on stage acting happy and sick it horrible how us fan to be selfish to give her space and not always give us concert we should had respected her and let her enjoy her 20s and 30 and early 40sand mid 40s and no matter if she didn't hit those notes we half to understand she was crying and hurt cause people she thought love her just called her out and cursed her out and I tell you she sounded good in 1985 and in 2012 so let her rest and just enjoy the time and that is it 😍😘😊😃😀😉😄😇God bless love y'all I'm out 😃
The music nowadays is such that the melody very much overpowers the vocal. The song-writers boost of the special effects they can put together into a song. The quality of singer's vocal would be very much secondary, because they will autotune it into a diva's voice anyhow anyway. Whereas back then, the vocal overpowers then melody, which is something clearly shown in all Whitney's performances. Much less special effects applicable to the melody and the vocal create a negative selection that only those singers with superb vocal prowess are able to shine on the stage. These two types of music cannot be compared as they are generally different in nature. But if i can choose, i would still prefer the music back then which worships the integrity of the singer's vocal.
I will continue to say that Whitney Houston was the greatest singer of ALL time.
The greatest of allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll times!
Yes she really was and always will be!
The greatest of all time .
There are a lot of wonderful and big voices but Whitney Houston is number one!

Nobody does it better than Houston. She sang the hell out of that song...almost ushered in the Holy Spirit toward the end. God bless her soul.

You can hear she was sick. It's amazing how she can sing like that while being sick! Most certainly the best singer of all time.
