Hey guys, just found your channel. These two videos about Coyhaique are so helpful. I'll be taking my first trip to the Aysén region in November and will be spending about 3-4 days in Coyhaique before venturing out further. It will be my first international solo trip and I've been working on my Spanish all year. Thanks so much for sharing your experience. I will definitely be watching more of your content. And if you have any other tips about traveling in the area, feel free to let me know!

Wow! Thank you so much!! We hope you have a great trip in November :)
We're posting a few more videos on things to do in the surrounding area both a few hours north and south from town. I'd say definitely check out Rio Tranquilo & Cerro castilloif you can! And in Coyhaique there's a coffee shop called Peregrinos. That's where we ended up making most of our friends. It's a good place to go on the first day to get a feel for the town!

@@collinandmeredith Thanks so much for the advice about Peregrinos! Rio Tranquilo and Cerro Castillo are both on my list. I'm hoping the hike up to the lake at Cerro Castillo will be dry enough in mid/late November, but if not I'll find others to do! Looking forward to your upcoming videos.

Thank you so much! You’re going to love it. Our next video will show another hike in the Cerro Castillo National Park (Laguna Duff) and other things in the area. 😁
We are so excited for your journey! If you have any questions as you plan, we are happy to help anyway we can!

You guys have such a skill for traveling! Love how you talk about slow traveling and trying to make the places you visit feel like home.
Can’t wait to see the rest of Chile!

Cherries are locally produced in Chile Chico at the Eastern tip of Lago General Carrera - which helps keep prices affordable. Personally, I see Coyhaique as the administrative heart of Aysen but nature-wise I enjoyed much more the region around Puerto Guadal (where I'm attempting a reforestation project) and further South toward Cochrane and Parque Patagonia.

We'll have to go to Puerto Guadal next time! We drove by on our way to Chile chico, but didn't stop by and now I wish we did. Next time we visit Chile I'd like to maybe start in that region and make our way a little more south!

@@collinandmeredith when you go to Puerto Guadal make sure you contact Ilango and Toto at Patagonia Arisca to discover the Aysen backcountry with them! They're awesome and based in the most beautiful location you can imagine!!

Hopefully you guys go went a little north to the 9th region. It's very green, lots of rural areas with some bigish cities in the mix.

Ah next time!!! We did make it up to Puerto Monte, but that was the furthest north for this trip!

Love the recap! I’ll be so curious how the budget goes since the national parks cost so much! Also really hope there are more language mistake stories in future videos! 😂

Thank you!!! Oh yes the budget goes out the window on national park days😂 but it averages out alright! Thanks for watching 🫶😍
