Does that crossing have a lot of incidents with vehicles trying to barge through when the barriers are lowering or already lowered? It seems strange to just have spare barriers stored there

Barrier strikes do happen, especially with long or wide vehicles clipping them as they lower. The vast majority of crossings have spare barrier arms so any knock-down can be quickly repaired

Yes, it's LED. Halogens would more noticeably fade in and out.
