For those who did not understand what is going on this video, here's a brief explanation: The main loud music really comes from the tesla coil sparks. They are literally playing the music due to the programmed phase, pulse width and firing frequency! So, there are no speakers, no audio / video special effects. It looks even better in person and sounds almost the same, just without the percussion track and louder than people expect!

The film has pretty grim ending and Tesla coils playing Take On Me is the goofiest thing ever which no way could be in the drama like that. That's why I find it funny, how it contradicts the film original tone :)

If he were suddenly brought into the year 2021, he would probably suffer a mental breakdown trying to process all the technological advances since his time, not to mention all the potential new innovations. I think every song can be made better by the use of Tesla coils.
Any song that uses an 8 or 16-bit note, particularly.
I don't think "all I want for Christmas is you" by Mariah carrey could translate well, but Megalovania, the Ghostbusters theme, Hall of the Mountain King, and Darude's Sandstorm (songs with short and sharp notes), will work well on most coils.
For longer notes, I'd say floppy disk drive music works better.

I'm no expert, but I believe the main principle is how you can use wave theory to translate a sound wave curve into an electrical wave of current, and then back again.
So the way to find this answer would be best answered by a sound technician I think?

I love how people are using cool tech like this to make music that sounds like it's 8-bit/16-bit. It's like we've gone in a circle with low tech to high tech and back.
Those 8-bit sounds were highly complex, because of the limits of their sound chip, but they sound great on tesla coils because they have about the same level of complex capabilities (that's why there's usually 2, one for low frequency and one for high, they can't cleanly do both)
This and the Otamatone cover is why I still breathe
