I feel like Ray Davis is gonna help this team more later in the season once he's fully comfortable in the system. Just wait until Davis and Cook are both in the backfield, we running some sort of playaction with Samuel or Keion going in motion, all just to hit Kincaid or MVS down the seam for a 20-30yrd gain....C'mon man Stop Playin, We got weapons over here now. we have height,.speed, quickness, toughness etc. All Josh have to do is get the ball to them boyz early and let them get busy.
Been saying all off-season, I'm way more concerned about our defensive. If they are close to mid-season form, Milano less even, 12-5. If we can't get pressure and safeties are out of position, watch out, we'll need 35 position per game to win.

Rico, we tried to tell you, McD was never conservative. That was Frazier 100%. But you guys (sorry for lumping you in here) needed to scapegoat someone for the Bills playoff defensive woes, which included many overly conservative play calls, and McD was the easy target. Frazier has always been the "bend-dont-break" guy. The "don't worry about sacks, control the edge" guy. The "13 seconds" and playing 20 yards off the line, gifting KC two easy 20 yard passes was 100% Frazier being worried about getting beat deep by Hill and playing conservative.
Look at all McD's prior DC experience. It's filled with aggression and exotic looks to confuse the opposing OC. McD's sin regarding the Bills' defense, if you want to call it that, was giving Frazier too much control of the defense, and it cost the Bills every playoff season.
For proof, we can see last season, when the Bills defense got beat, it was McD overcommitting, Cover 0 Blitz type stuff. 100% different defense than when Frazier was game calling.
The coordinators job is to call plays based off the strategy of the HC. You could easily see what was happening in that 13 seconds and he didn't call a timeout and put a stop to it before the 2nd play. They were scared shitless of Hill and conceded playing for OT if need be instead of worrying about Hill
@@billsfever I agree with everything you noted there. The only thing I would note is that it was clear that McD's strategy was to give his coordinators full control of their coordination.
It makes sense to me that the rookie coach and GM would want experienced veteran play callers. It also makes sense that the only way you are going to convince those type of coordinators to join your team under a rookie head coach is the promise that the new HC would give them autonomy to run their respective offence and defense.
Now with McD having had several years of HC under his belt and able to groom coordinators in house, you can see the switch to young coordinators that McD can influence, who would be following McD's lead.
Again, McD was aggressive when he was a DC, and he was an aggressive play calling after Frazier left. Frazier, on the other hand, has always called conservatively.
All anyone can do is speculate, since none of us were there, but all the evidence points to McD giving Frazier free rein of the defense.
