Ok yes but I always feel with this kind of sentiment that it simply does not apply to people in horrific situations. Or have I misunderstood? Would this help people in Kabul right now? Sex slaves in North Korea?
It is about allowing everything, no matter if its pleasure or pain, to be allowed to be felt and expressed if necessary. In our society many of us can feel like some things are not allowed to be expressed, since they are too raw and risk creating upheaval in the structures most of us feel safety and comfort in. These feelings are then put behind locks within ourselves, resulting in many of the health issues we see these days in our society. In short. Yes, this will also help those people. Imagine the pain of going through those things and then having to lock the experience up within yourself because you perceive the truth of your feelings to be too raw to share.
My take is that welcoming pain is a part of the process, not the whole process. As she say's, it points to there being something out of alignment and something to learn. Then we have to act to brings things back into alignment to the extent that we are able...and most like do it imperfectly, and welcome the pain of that truth if that's how it plays out as well, and see that we still have the opportunity to grow and develop.
THANK YOU xx
