Thanks for that shoutout Lee. For me Laurie's PTSD fits a lot with the events she went through in the first movie. I think a lot of people focus on the amount of kills the shape committed in 1978 rather than how many times Laurie saw him repeatedly get back up. She stabbed him multiple times and even saw him get shot out a second storey window with 6 bulllets in him only for him to get right back up again. I also believe she would have spent time with Loomis after the events of the first movie, who had already seen him as not human, and instead pure evil, just a shape. So I do think that would have all influenced her greatly, rather than hiding in fear like she did in H20 ( although I also love that version) Laurie in 2018 instead hardened up and waited. I think she knew 78 was only the tip of the iceberg with the potential damage Michael could do, and I'm really hoping thats what they explore in kills and ends. Turn that back on the audience and show that every thing Laurie said, and every preparation she took made sense... almost the same way Loomis was right originally too.

The boy wasn't in his way though the keys were already in the car he could have left but Michael chose to wait for the kid to kill him i think it just shows how random everything that he does is.
I wish they had Allison being stalked and chased right to her Grandmas house, that would have givin us an additional 10min of Myers chasing her cutting out that cop scene also, maybe even injuring her and leading Allison to Laurie and building that tension , so much more natural then what happened with Dr Zartan.

Allison’s screams are timed just right with the music as “The Shape stalks Allison” starts. Agree that the trailer cost a lot of impact for the closet scene. A little more of a tense buildup and not being included in the trailer would’ve made that scene a 10/10.
Honestly, I believe, that the overall casting in 4 is second to none in the franchise! Quite frankly we may have discussed this previously in a review/ chat but fuck it ...I said it again! 🦁
I saw Halloween Kills in the theater when it came out about six times. I love it so much. I've been to all the fiming locations which was just unreal for me! I have a video as we are pulling up infront of Laurie's house and I stsrt squeeling with excitement that Im gonna pass out, lol. I got to speak to the lady that owns the house the sexy nurse walks out of, she happened to be outside so she talked to us. She said the production crew used her house to store their cameras and crew while filming her neighbors houses. I got to go through the entire garage where Michael gets his Mask back. Sad to say they didn't actually film INSIDE the actual gas station bathroom, :( . In Laurie's house , there is not a Island in the kitchen, but there is a piece of board screwed into the floor where the Island was at. ( I have no idea what is under it) Went to the restaurant where Laurie chugs down a glass of wine and ate lunch at the same table they sat at. I asked my waiter about the candles you see on the wall in the movie behind them, he said " yeah, the production crew changed out our artwork and added the candles and they left them after filming! He saw my eyes light up. He brought me out one of the candles and gave it to me! Of course I tipped him $20, lol. And lastly, the metal gate that Allison sees her " friend " hanging on, has been removed by the homes owners. They put up a solid gate now so you can't see into the back yard, its a BEAUTIFUL home. 🎃

When I first saw this in theaters, I thought it was inferior to H20. But a year later, I find it to be a much better Halloween movie. The cinematography, the score, the kills, the atmosphere, and the direction screams Halloween. It’s now my 2nd favorite in the series right behind the original and H20 is my 3rd. I do prefer Laurie Strode and the third act in H20. The score is my favorite in the series too and my personal favorite is the Shape Burns. It has such a finality to it along with some somber Also, 31
(BrettMan) I would had Karen showed more emotion as well after the restaurant scene. Maybe have her play it like Chris from Friday the 13th Part 3 but scale back a little so it's not too cheesy
I still can't get over how bad that twist was and it hasn't grown on me since watching it for the first time. I hope they give a bit more explanation to Sartain in Halloween kills because it makes no sense why he killed the cop and kidnaped Allyson just to understand the motive behind Michael's kills. I mean Sartain does ware Michael's mask at some point so maybe the mask is cursed and allows whoever to wear it become a killer.. Idk we'll have to see in Halloween Kills🤷♂️

I'm usually steadfast on my opinions when watching horror movies, especially modern horror and even though I'm not a Michael Myers fanatic and haven't seen the complete franchise, Halloween 2018 surprisingly has grown on me. It ain't flawless but is certainly more than a 4-star film. Really enjoyed Dave, he was an urbane and interesting character who had so much mystique and who could have easily been the boyfriend to Allyson than douchebag Cameron. Hopefully Cameron can have some significant role in Halloween Kills as he needs to redeem himself BIG TIME! I'm excited to see Halloween Kills and still don't know anything about it except that it will be a bloodbath. Will go and see it at IMAX late at night if it gets the green signal to show in theatres. Fingers crossed 🤞

My biggest problem with Halloween 2018 is this . Laurie Strode was allowed to run around as a civilian in a town that she lived in firing a weapon multiple times as well as ordering people to get in their houses. That would have never happened , she's a civilian she has no right to wield or fire of in city limits. That aspect of it is very unrealistic, and it surprises me what Halloween fans are willing to accept just for the sake of the movie. My other issue is the amount of damage that Michael Myers took in this movie there is just no way a sixty-year-old man crazy or not be able to still be standing and walking. Very unrealistic. He's blind in one eye as well as missing three fingers shot in the shoulder twice hit with a truck and he still able to come after the strode's full force I call BS on it. I saw that video on Annie being the main target, it made a lot of sense. My question to you is this when dr. Sartain told Laurie Strode that he has read everything about her and Michael and he even repeated the word everything ! What do you think he meant? Smiths Grove sanitarium is where evil goes to thrive. Working through trauma is a choice , Laurie Strode chose to marinate in it. She chose her obsession with Michael over her family.
I think he's hunting them all and finding good time to pounce. There's a lot more to see literally at Annie's house than at Laurie house. Laurie is boring compared to Annie lol. My DSLR stops after 30 minutes. This process is basically me recording small segments, usually no more than 10 minutes each and putting them together in the end.

I watched this last week so many plot holes and flaws. #1 Why would a podcast care about this case? So many better crime stories they could cover. #2 The new characters are all annoying! #3 Laurie having this trauma after 40 years is so dumb. #4 Michael caring about the mask at the start is silly he wore it 40 years ago why would he care? #5 The comedy is completely trash. He wanted Laurie for long run he'll save her last or if she never came over if would he go after her? Would he have went after Linda if she never came over? He was interested in Laurie he was watching her maybe infatuated with her but he wanted to kill Annie. In the book he was aroused by Annie he wasn't by Laurie but he was mad he was aroused by Annie. In deleted scene Linda said she was being followed. Whether this was cause he was following her or if he was going back to Laurie anyway lol! That avarice podcast said that he could have been following all three but they just showed Laurie like how they only showed Michael watching Annie but in book he's going back and forth watching both Annie and Laurie. He wasn't letting either one get away. The book wad cool cause we got to be in his head lol and get some more reasoning . but he's like a animal to me he's hunting he's like a wolf stalking some sheep he's going to pick out some but he's looking for a opening or weakness. His stalking Laurie is kinds like this he's getting closer and closer. He's circling his prey waiting to pounce. So many animals come to mind that that describes lol.
what id would sayis you;re causing your own confusion. the "thorn trilogy" violates everything the original film stood for. With that said, the events of those film didn't happen so Laurie having that kind of convo with her daughter would make no sense. Even if they had cast Danielle instead and renamed the character Jamie Lloyd, it wouldn't be the same Jamie so that convo is pointless. (what could she have dealth with? he been locked up for 40 years. who Laurie child is, doesnt change that) There is literallly nothing to be confused over when you go from 1978 to 2018. You have to start including events from other films to get confused
good point made around the 25 minute mark. this movie is lacking a good male presence. Ray could have filled that void without going over the top. No, it’s not nitpicking to observe lack of dominant male character, besides Myers of course, because I love this movie, but it’s also combined with missing Loomis. Loomis did so good in movies 1-6 when he isn’t in a movie it just feels like there’s something missing. may or may not be fair to the makers of the new movies, just the way it is since Donald did such a good job with Loomis.

I've heard it before cause I've searched UA-cam so many times concerning Michaels motives his reasoning analysis psychology disorders he could have commentaries first watches reviews everything I'm obsessed with Halloween and Michael too lol! I had to look it up back in Aug 2,2019 avarice podcast did a video called what was Michael Myers motivation in original Halloween? Was Laurie his target? He analyze the entire movie from start to finish analyzing Michael he propose that Michael might have done what he did cause Judith said something he didn't like then later saw Laurie invading his space didn't like that but he's like a animal or predator that will stalk first circling his prey til he sees a weakness or opportunity to strike. Then Annie took that shot at him she's definitely on his list if not top of list lol. Later in the book he's stalking both of them he went from lauries house to Annie's house checking windows and doors. He noted the window to living room was open that's why later he knew he could enter through that way. I think he was watching both locations if either of them left a opening he would strike. In the book he was going to strike when Annie as stuck in window but Lindsey came out so he retreated and waited. HR got first opening when Annie left Lindsey and was by herself easy to get her now. I wonder if Linda and bob never showed up if they found another place to just stayed in van like I heard in a first watch the dude said bob had a nice van lol. I wonder if Michael would have even went after them if they never showed up.
In a lot of ways Michael is a lot like leather face in original. They both have their places their territory whatever you call it people start invading their space and they go after them lol. Both wear relatively blank masks and their eye holes are usually dark. More Michael than leather face but there's scenes where his eyes were dark. Both won't stop. Leatherface sawed his leg still went after her a d and danced in road. In remake his arm got chopped off he's still coming lol. Maybe Karen had lack of emotion cause of the trauma and what was the word she used that was projected on her lol. I'm looking around my place like Jason was all my Halloween stuff its enough I get it like three plushies that's enough but if I see another ill get it I want another one lol. As long as its not expensive like the new Michael figures they look cool but dang that price. Same as Loomis and Laurie but if I see it at target ill get it hopefully at better price. My last visit I seen the Halloween three three pack almost got it looked at it neat cool but didn't get it. If I was made of money with unlimited space he'll yeah if it was Michael he'll yeah or Laurie or Loomis he'll yeah especially Laurie from original why didn't they come out with that? I'm not complaining about hospital gown but I'm a bigger fan of Laurie in original than the sequel lol.
Movie is in the middle of my list of H movies. I just feel like the movie has no flow. Be it the script or plot holes that may be filled in the sequels. You get some outstanding cinematography and then I get blah moments that take me out of the experience. For a movie that skips all the sequels it gives way to many nods to them. Agree that the trailer cost a lot of impact for the closet scene. A little more of a tense buildup and not being included in the trailer would’ve made that scene a 10/10.

I saw Halloween Kills in the theater when it came out about six times. I love it so much. I've been to all the fiming locations which was just unreal for me! I have a video as we are pulling up infront of Laurie's house and I stsrt squeeling with excitement that Im gonna pass out, lol.
I got to speak to the lady that owns the house the sexy nurse walks out of, she happened to be outside so she talked to us. She said the production crew used her house to store their cameras and crew while filming her neighbors houses.
I got to go through the entire garage where Michael gets his Mask back. Sad to say they didn't actually film INSIDE the actual gas station bathroom, :( .
In Laurie's house , there is not a Island in the kitchen, but there is a piece of board screwed into the floor where the Island was at. ( I have no idea what is under it)
Went to the restaurant where Laurie chugs down a glass of wine and ate lunch at the same table they sat at. I asked my waiter about the candles you see on the wall in the movie behind them, he said " yeah, the production crew changed out our artwork and added the candles and they left them after filming! He saw my eyes light up. He brought me out one of the candles and gave it to me!
Of course I tipped him $20, lol.
And lastly, the metal gate that Allison sees her " friend " hanging on, has been removed by the homes owners. They put up a solid gate now so you can't see into the back yard, its a BEAUTIFUL home. 🎃
I saw it twice in the theater. Such a cool experience.

Taste in film is all subjective and can depend on many factors, right down to the mood we're in when we press play.

Love this one. My 2nd favorite after the original.
When I first saw this in theaters, I thought it was inferior to H20. But a year later, I find it to be a much better Halloween movie. The cinematography, the score, the kills, the atmosphere, and the direction screams Halloween. It’s now my 2nd favorite in the series right behind the original and H20 is my 3rd. I do prefer Laurie Strode and the third act in H20. The score is my favorite in the series too and my personal favorite is the Shape Burns. It has such a finality to it along with some somber

I still can't get over how bad that twist was and it hasn't grown on me since watching it for the first time. I hope they give a bit more explanation to Sartain in Halloween kills because it makes no sense why he killed the cop and kidnaped Allyson just to understand the motive behind Michael's kills. I mean Sartain does ware Michael's mask at some point so maybe the mask is cursed and allows whoever to wear it become a killer.. Idk we'll have to see in Halloween Kills🤷♂️

I'm usually steadfast on my opinions when watching horror movies, especially modern horror and even though I'm not a Michael Myers fanatic and haven't seen the complete franchise, Halloween 2018 surprisingly has grown on me. It ain't flawless but is certainly more than a 4-star film. Really enjoyed Dave, he was an urbane and interesting character who had so much mystique and who could have easily been the boyfriend to Allyson than douchebag Cameron. Hopefully Cameron can have some significant role in Halloween Kills as he needs to redeem himself BIG TIME!
I'm excited to see Halloween Kills and still don't know anything about it except that it will be a bloodbath. Will go and see it at IMAX late at night if it gets the green signal to show in theatres. Fingers crossed 🤞

My biggest problem with Halloween 2018 is this . Laurie Strode was allowed to run around as a civilian in a town that she lived in firing a weapon multiple times as well as ordering people to get in their houses. That would have never happened , she's a civilian she has no right to wield or fire of in city limits. That aspect of it is very unrealistic, and it surprises me what Halloween fans are willing to accept just for the sake of the movie. My other issue is the amount of damage that Michael Myers took in this movie there is just no way a sixty-year-old man crazy or not be able to still be standing and walking. Very unrealistic. He's blind in one eye as well as missing three fingers shot in the shoulder twice hit with a truck and he still able to come after the strode's full force I call BS on it. I saw that video on Annie being the main target, it made a lot of sense. My question to you is this when dr. Sartain told Laurie Strode that he has read everything about her and Michael and he even repeated the word everything ! What do you think he meant? Smiths Grove sanitarium is where evil goes to thrive. Working through trauma is a choice , Laurie Strode chose to marinate in it. She chose her obsession with Michael over her family.
I think he's hunting them all and finding good time to pounce. There's a lot more to see literally at Annie's house than at Laurie house. Laurie is boring compared to Annie lol. I don't think Laurie would take all her clothes off if she spilt some butter lol. Annie does lol! Plus she left door open Laurie is more self aware than that lol! That's what tommy said you can't kill boogeyman can't wait for Halloween kills can't wait lol!

Gear related question : how do you shoot for longer than 30 minutes with either camera? I've been looking to upgrade since my dslr shuts off after 30 minutes of recording or streaming. Keep up the good work!
My DSLR stops after 30 minutes. This process is basically me recording small segments, usually no more than 10 minutes each and putting them together in the end.

I watched this last week so many plot holes and flaws.
#1 Why would a podcast care about this case? So many better crime stories they could cover.
#2 The new characters are all annoying!

Aah man why was that scene with sartain picking his nose in cop car deleted? Lol why was that even shot lol! I think everyone is his target. He wanted Laurie for long run he'll save her last or if she never came over if would he go after her? Would he have went after Linda if she never came over? He was interested in Laurie he was watching her maybe infatuated with her but he wanted to kill Annie. In the book he was aroused by Annie he wasn't by Laurie but he was mad he was aroused by Annie. In deleted scene Linda said she was being followed. Whether this was cause he was following her or if he was going back to Laurie anyway lol! That avarice podcast said that he could have been following all three but they just showed Laurie like how they only showed Michael watching Annie but in book he's going back and forth watching both Annie and Laurie. He wasn't letting either one get away. The book wad cool cause we got to be in his head lol and get some more reasoning . but he's like a animal to me he's hunting he's like a wolf stalking some sheep he's going to pick out some but he's looking for a opening or weakness. His stalking Laurie is kinds like this he's getting closer and closer. He's circling his prey waiting to pounce. So many animals come to mind that that describes lol.

good point made around the 25 minute mark. this movie is lacking a good male presence. Ray could have filled that void without going over the top. No, it’s not nitpicking to observe lack of dominant male character, besides Myers of course, because I love this movie, but it’s also combined with missing Loomis. Loomis did so good in movies 1-6 when he isn’t in a movie it just feels like there’s something missing. may or may not be fair to the makers of the new movies, just the way it is since Donald did such a good job with Loomis.

Why not talk about Halloween original this is direct sequel to that! Yeah I seen that video! Cool theory! I've heard it before cause I've searched UA-cam so many times concerning Michaels motives his reasoning analysis psychology disorders he could have commentaries first watches reviews everything I'm obsessed with Halloween and Michael too lol! I had to look it up back in Aug 2,2019 avarice podcast did a video called what was Michael Myers motivation in original Halloween? Was Laurie his target? He analyze the entire movie from start to finish analyzing Michael he propose that Michael might have done what he did cause Judith said something he didn't like then later saw Laurie invading his space didn't like that but he's like a animal or predator that will stalk first circling his prey til he sees a weakness or opportunity to strike. Then Annie took that shot at him she's definitely on his list if not top of list lol. Later in the book he's stalking both of them he went from lauries house to Annie's house checking windows and doors. He noted the window to living room was open that's why later he knew he could enter through that way. I think he was watching both locations if either of them left a opening he would strike. In the book he was going to strike when Annie as stuck in window but Lindsey came out so he retreated and waited. HR got first opening when Annie left Lindsey and was by herself easy to get her now. I wonder if Linda and bob never showed up if they found another place to just stayed in van like I heard in a first watch the dude said bob had a nice van lol. I wonder if Michael would have even went after them if they never showed up.
In a lot of ways Michael is a lot like leather face in original. They both have their places their territory whatever you call it people start invading their space and they go after them lol. Both wear relatively blank masks and their eye holes are usually dark. More Michael than leather face but there's scenes where his eyes were dark. Both won't stop. Leatherface sawed his leg still went after her a d and danced in road. In remake his arm got chopped off he's still coming lol. Maybe Karen had lack of emotion cause of the trauma and what was the word she used that was projected on her lol. I'm looking around my place like Jason was all my Halloween stuff its enough I get it like three plushies that's enough but if I see another ill get it I want another one lol. As long as its not expensive like the new Michael figures they look cool but dang that price. Same as Loomis and Laurie but if I see it at target ill get it hopefully at better price. My last visit I seen the Halloween three three pack almost got it looked at it neat cool but didn't get it. If I was made of money with unlimited space he'll yeah if it was Michael he'll yeah or Laurie or Loomis he'll yeah especially Laurie from original why didn't they come out with that? I'm not complaining about hospital gown but I'm a bigger fan of Laurie in original than the sequel lol.
Movie is in the middle of my list of H movies. I just feel like the movie has no flow. Be it the script or plot holes that may be filled in the sequels. You get some outstanding cinematography and then I get blah moments that take me out of the experience. For a movie that skips all the sequels it gives way to many nods to them. Can we get some Kiss I like it loud drums? Great D watch Lee.
