Do you think those fumes that form within the paint are a hazard on an actual job ? I wanted to paint mine black using 2,000° high heat rust-oleum lol as long as the smell don’t give it away,I’m worried the fumes would blow me away 😂
any links for where you got your leather from and the flip lense? im redoing one of my first chopped top pipeliners and im having trouble finding me some leather
Love the video man! Not sure if you already have a video out on how to do the top leather but if not that would be amazing!

Let it sit for at least 48 hours the paint hardens and the smell goes away

Video on top leather install and steps to making and where u got everything from?
I just got buddy I'm making someone a hood I'll get all that for you
Any update on that video??
I winced every time you called it a helmet 😅
If you go on both Miller and Lincoln websites, they call them helmets.
Do you throw a primer on it before spraying the color or that was the color?
I just painted it if you have a really rough surface I would use primer filler then wet sand
What’s the measurements for cutting these hoods ?
I think I used 2" masking tape on top and started at 1 1/2 center and tapered on the bottom
Hows the paint holding up against the heat and sparks?
Hey brotha, what size painters tape were you using, 2”? And do you have the measurements for the top leather cutout?
2" painters tape and use the top piece of the helmet for the templet
@@30hourreview thanks man! Awesome vid
How do you do the rivets
I'm making another video just on the top leather
Looks dope brother!! Just 1 question, how you get the template for the leather ?
The left over top will be the shape you need
Could you go back over on how you make the template fir the leather and how much do u need to cut off.?
I'll have a new pipeliner video out soon
What paint did you use
I used Rust-Oleum and I think kraylon I think I'm going to try a few brands out to find which is best
Did you have to sand it before painting? If so what grit size did you use
If your hood is old and has some wear yes sand everything evenly start with 80 grit on any deep scratches and work up to past 1200 grit
And if it's new as long As it smooth just rub it with an abrasive sponge just to help it cling
Based welding hood waifu.
Did you see the pancake and yc10? There in the wrap guide
Where do you buy the leather?
Amazon
Do you have any idea of the thickness of the leather ?
Thanks
I use 2mm tooling leather
Where did you get the rivets to attach the leather to the hood?
Amazon
Whats the dimensions of your template for the leather?
The left over top piece of the helmet
😎👌💡
Jigsaw would have given you less of a burr. Looks great though!
I'll have to try that next time
Its fiber glass
why do people put flip lids on these!!! You basically ruin the light weight benefits of the hood. Ugh
