TREAT THE TANK SO THE WOUND DOESN'T GET INFECTED!!!!
They will take a chunck out of a pirana when they are stressed and in a small tank and/or under fed. You should separate chunk or they might kill him
No guppies
I had piranhas for 15 years. They are always kinda skittish. They do better if you leave the lights off. Dont do be surprised if you lose one or two after a while. I started with 6 and ended with 4. The weakest will get picked off. Once one starts attacking or eating its a chain reaction. Spots go away when they hit maturity. The redder the belly the healthier the piranha.

@@haventcenathing seriously? Lol. Even if you keep them fed if one os sick or weker theyll eat it. Not for food but to strenghten their pack.

Idk if you noticed but there was another fish with a little chunk missing. Sometimes the group is aggressive towards its own members. Notice how chunk was the first to try the food meaning he may be the weakest and the little scout of the group. Since there is another guy with a chunk missing it may mean that the piranhas are trying to find a leader
I have a feeling chunk and chunk 2 are gonna be dead by the next video

I had piranhas years ago. Had them for a few yrs. before moving and giving them to a friend. They r beautiful fish. Mine were pretty friendly. I fed the feeder gold fish as well as what u r feeding yours. The bellies got a deep red and the tops turned a dark color. Look forward to seeing more videos on them. Enjoy watching your videos.

I used to keep fish years ago. You have a great channel on the fish here. I remember I had two fish called Tiger Oscars.
These things were crazy and would try and jump out the tank when you took the lid off. In fact, my uncle was standing beside me when I took the tank lid off. One of them jumped out and knocked off his glasses. I couldn't put any other type of fish in the tank with them or they would eat them. Your Piranhas reminded me of them. 👍👍
Looks like you had 2 chunks by the end of the video. I've heard of piranhas living together for years and then they start turning on each other. You just never know. That's probably my favorite fish store in the StL area.

Piranhas feel retro that’s what’s up to see them get popular again. I had a few different kinds my favorite are gold rhoms. But you can’t keep them in a group. The only piranha I’ve own that wasn’t skittish. Check out Serrasalmus, probably the coolest fish ive kept. Super mean! Don’t put hands in a Serrasalmus tank, or gold tbh. I always netted them. But you have to be fast when netting cause they bite up the nets. Thread repair is a normal thing for my nets…

Yeah you’d be surprised at how skittish piranhas are. They’re not what most people expect them to be. A lot of people end up getting bored of them because of how skittish they are, but hey, maybe you’re friend can still enjoy them for what they are

I have a pak of 10 almost hand size they are pretty skittish for a while but It does get better they actually scare each other one will get scared making the others react.

Red bellies are the most skidish of the piranha species. The solitary and caribe species are the aggressive ones

I was recently at a fish store that carried piranhas, and just about every one of them had a bite taken out of it in just about the same spot as "Chunk". Not too familiar with keeping piranhas. Wonder if it just comes with the territory?
They will eat the weakest one. Or if one is sick or injured. Even if they arent hungry.

Try to feed them some gold fish, or shrimps that are alive. maybe glow fish.

My 4 piranhas lives with a tetra we named tank, various Cory’s, and a pleco for a long term and currently live in a community tank with fish they decide not to eat in a 120 at a friends house, they will continue to surprise you

Went to a local pet store in early opening hours. I was a little taller than the owner. He didn't see his third piranha dead with 4 bites into him like a human was eating it like pizza.

I’ve kept piranha for years and they are beautiful. They get a bad rap because of media sensation. There are other species of piranha that are more dangerous.

You should have got 1 single black Piranha (Rhombeus). They are way better to own. Way more interactive and inquisitive with their owners. Black piranhas are literally like Oscars but just extremely mean and aggressive. They carry the fictitious attitude of piranhas in Hollywood. The red belly piranhas though are extremely boring. You will get tired of them after awhile like most former red belly owners that keep them and end up selling them for a loss. You can literally make the black pirahna an investment. They are rare and I’ve seen so many people go out their way to get their hands on one. Baby black piranhas typically run about $100+ and I’ve seen many adults sell upwards of several thousands of dollars.

Im the type of person to tell me touch a lion but dont ask me to touch a bug or let a bug land on me if i was on street and felt a bug is on me ill take off all my clothes include my underwear and pad myself and my clothes and check them inch by inch before i put them on ans yes cops may be called on me but hopefully my reasining is good enough😂

All of their major orgqns are up by their head and in the front half of their body. My piranhas would eat the back half of a fish sometimes and it would "swim" around and eat for like a day or 2 until they would eat the rest of it.

Yup the weak piranhas will get eaten. You’ll have about 3-5 left out of the 8 when all said and done.
Just remember what they dont eat you will be cleaning out. Nothing worse then trying to fish out mouse guts with a net! Been there. Not fun.
