I actually really liked it when he went sorta insane, cause it answered one of the questions I had during the entire series. Most of the abilities we had seen had fairly big drawbacks or weaknesses that we could see if they had their power long enough onscreen, so I had wondered, what's Yuu's weakness? Now we know, he loses a bit of himself each time he takes a power, and that's just good storytelling to me
Tachi the human brain can hold a massive amount of information. However it does have its limits. Each time he takes a power, along with the knowledge of how to use it and whatnot, you have to forget something in exchange. So, after plundering the millions of powers on Earth, he lost all his memories, but he was fighting to keep the book that he was given. Even though he had forgotten why he has it, he couldnt get rid of it because the desire to return to her was THAT strong.

When he lost his mind... It was such a realistic scene. This show was just perfect. My bro h8s anime where they conveniently survive in the end due to what ever reason but he loved this anime more then me. Everything was handled so perfectly.

This anime is underrated, change my mind. I relate to this so much, like when his sister died. I took the same path and shut everyone out, isolated myself and became violent in the smallest situations. I want to be somebody but I don’t know who I really am. (Don’t spoil anything in the comments I’m only on episode 8)
