I had Bravestar and some of the Rambo toys. Also, the giant green inhumanoid tendril monster. Pretty sure they were gifts from family, because I never watched either of those cartoons.
Always great vids dude. I can hit you with a couple of interest you might wish to check out if you find the time. 1- Wheeled Warriors ( Saw Boss was an awesome plant man / vehicle), 2 - Robotix, and of course 3- Visionaries since you already hit us with Inhumaniods. Please keep up the great work man
The idea of Food Fighters being worth money is amusing. I recall the figures hanging around closeout stores into the 90's. And vehicles at Toy R Us's clearance aisle.
Hey Matt, so happy you mentioned Food Fighters, that’s one I have fond memories of as well. Some others I remember that maybe aren’t as obscure would be Mask, Cops, Battle Beasts, and Bionic Six. Well maybe the final one there is obscure, let me know!
Born in 74, so yeah, I lived it - 80s toy stores ruled! Legend of the Lone Ranger was one my fave lines. Small line but awesome. Love the cardbacks. Karate Kid legit sparked a karate craze. Every kid was doing karate in '84. Cranes galore in the school playground at lunch and recess. If you weren't practicing karate, you learning breakdancing, lol...
The Power Lords line with it's unique designs and features was one of my favourite. Not to mention the articulation was better on them than on some of the current action figures.
Great list, Matt and thank you for not including my personal favorite forgotten 80's line - STARCOM - I don't need anyone else driving up the prices of these gems!!! (but do check them out because they are AWESOME!)
I was surprised Exo Squad didn't make this list, maybe it wasn't as obscure as I thought. I had a Karate Corvette but it was second hand and broken, I still enjoyed it though. Pretty sure I had a Food Fighter or two as well, I had forgot about those.
The Filmation Ghostbusters are truly underrated. They are the most cartoon accurate figures made in the 80’s. They also had three female characters released right off the bat.
I went back and collected the Flintstones Kids line a few years back mainly because it's the Flintstones. I don't specifically remember ever watching it while growing up but then again everything is a blurr at my age. By the way, there's a whole second wave of figures that I didn't even know existed and it's a LOT pricier. Includes a Mr. Slate and even a Cave Man. It's pretty cool.
I remember all of these but didn't have any. I was mainly Star Wars and GI Joe but those all seemed pretty cool as well. Thanks for the good memories Matt!
The Flintstones Kids sets are ones I've thought about collecting because The Flintstones are a nostalgic part of my early childhood. I used to watch both the original show and The Flintstones Kids regularly, plus I saw the live action movie at the theater (even though I was too young to remember that since I was only 2) and had most of the action figures from its tie-in which I have a vague memory of getting for Christmas. I know they're kind of ugly since they try to replicate the actors' faces while having the cartoon bodies, but they're so nostalgic to me that I can't help but have a soft spot for them. I'm glad to see the Flintstones Kids sets don't go for too much.
Left out the line that took the eighties into the nineties... Barnyard Commandos, 89-90. I've both the original Bravestarr figure and the new Bravestarr figure
Air Raiders weren't spring-loaded vehicles , they used air pumps to shoot a blast of air into the vehicle so it would move or the missile would launch, hence using the word "Air" in the title.
The only thing I use to have was a toy called Computer Warriors, not too many people remember it, I think I had the computer chip that turned into some spaceship, oh and plus there was a Pepsi can for a base. Can someone please verify this ?
I also had the computer chip, though I think it was a motherboard/glider. I also distinctly remember a base disguised as a soccer trophy. There was also a cartoon pilot.
Clicked on this hoping to see something about the Sectaurs, a toy line nobody except me seemed interested in during the '80s and hasn't generated any post-factum online fandom. I thought they were awesome.
had bravestarr and as a kid who loved cowboy stuff, he was a winner. Ramen and the other version are just too expensive in australian dollarydoos the ghostbusters line are problematic. they develop a mould in them which will not come out and tracey’s body becomes fragile like glass. i had all three of the good guys but owning them made me nervous so, sold them. if they were re-booted, i’d get ‘em
In a fight between Batman and Superman the winner would be Chuck Norris 🤘. I'm a '83 kid as well. I had most of these toys as a kid. I think my parents just bought everything because I never had full set just 2 or 3 from this line a playset from here, vehicles from there. When I started forming an opinion of my own is when I focused in on the ones I liked most,
can you help me idenify acouplev of toylines...., i know i had them, but ive tried so many places and nobody recognizes them. the main was a gi joe scale line and the figures came kind of box shaped "vehicles" that slightly condensed in length and could be a (huge) backpack for the figure.the vehicle pods also had ridge and grooves along the sides tro connect to others to make bigger vehicles, there were different teams, air tank, please please telll me you recall these.i have tried to reach out to so many toy fans, toy galaxy even, and nobody has a clue.its not mandella effect,i deffinately had themm,if you image a a box shape with a hole for the figure to be slid in to sit,the box was then pushed in that nrrowed it and closed the cockpit hole. my other one from my childhood was a range of figures of different themes, that were all 5 poa but the limbs could all pop off and mix and match with other figures.this is more obscure i think, but i had loads of these. these two lines are a big nostalgia for me, i would pay hundreds to get them. i hope you can help
Again, the:”p”, in the word corps is silent, and I have never heard of air raiders toy line until watched this video, and this was back in the 90’s I didn’t know that the filmation ghostbusters had a toy line until I noticed them at a Big Lots store here then💁🏻♂🤔.
If you watch the Tom Hanks movie Big, he is playing Photon in full gear in FAO Schwartz with a random kid, before he plays the giant foot piano. We had Photon guns but not the helmet and armor set, and it was really fun. But with the armor set it would have been better for sure.
When i was a kid in my friend's mom gave me an old Tendril that was hers from her childhood, but my mom flipped out and threw it away because she thought it was demonic, i was so sad and upset
Did YOU have any of these? What is YOUR favorite (often) forgotten toy line?
I had Bravestar and some of the Rambo toys. Also, the giant green inhumanoid tendril monster. Pretty sure they were gifts from family, because I never watched either of those cartoons.
My memory is a little fuzzy on the Flintstone Kids and Photon lines, but I remember everything else clearly.
I never had any of them, though.
You forgot captain power!
tigersharks
Loved my Battle Beasts as a kid. Still have them minus their holograms and weapons of course.
Netflix should seriously let you take over the Toys That Made Us show. It's a shame they haven't kept that going.
There's two new seasons coming soon.
I loved Wheeled Warriors, still have 3 of them!

I had all of these as a kid in the 80's. I would love love love it if Hasbro brought back Cops and Crooks. That line was my favorite.
'83 born too. I was all in on Food Fighters as a kid. I had the entire line. I wish I still had them.😢
Born in 74, so yeah, I lived it - 80s toy stores ruled!

I loved Spiral Zone. You missed StarCom!
Jayce and the wheeled warriors was a favorite of mine, never hear anything about that show from anyone. Was hoping they were on your list.
The Power Lords line with it's unique designs and features was one of my favourite. Not to mention the articulation was better on them than on some of the current action figures.

What no Starcom?? No Caption Power??😅
Don't be telling people how awesome Starcom is...
Starcom gets so little love. My guess is it did better over here in Europe. Same for Captain Power.
Battle Beasts are my favorite forgotten toy from the 80's.
Food fighters! I love what 9 to 5 Warriors is doing to carry on that style
I was surprised Exo Squad didn't make this list, maybe it wasn't as obscure as I thought. I had a Karate Corvette but it was second hand and broken, I still enjoyed it though. Pretty sure I had a Food Fighter or two as well, I had forgot about those.
I only recognize the Food Fighters and Flintstones toys. I totally forgot about those Flintstones toys until this video. I had some of those as a kid!
The Filmation Ghostbusters are truly underrated. They are the most cartoon accurate figures made in the 80’s. They also had three female characters released right off the bat.
From my understanding, part of the problem with brave star was the toys came out almost a year before the show, and the lack of synergy killed both
Cool video, some great toy lines in there! My favourite lesser known toys from that era are Silverhawks, Bionic Six and Defenders of the Earth.
I didn't realize people like their toys so big back then.
I've only ever owned the Air Raiders set at 9:58. BTW, you launched 'em with a pump.
Mattel needs to do something with bravestar and captain power. Loved those toys in the 80’s.
I went back and collected the Flintstones Kids line a few years back mainly because it's the Flintstones. Cool video. Would love to see you do the same video but for 90's toy lines. That's a lot more in my wheelhouse.
Air Raiders! Never had 'em, but the theme song from the commercial lives in my brain 4-LIFE!
Ah yes..time to play "Had It! Didn't Have it!" Born in '75...I got in a the PERFECT time! HAHA!
I remember all of these but didn't have any. I was mainly Star Wars and GI Joe but those all seemed pretty cool as well. Thanks for the good memories Matt!

How about Visionaries, Army Ants, Barnyard Commandos?
marshal bravestarr action figure toys werent that obscure back then. when i was a kid i saw a bunch of them in stores
I remember some of these toy lines. Thanks for the video, Matt!
Left out the line that took the eighties into the nineties... Barnyard Commandos, 89-90. I've both the original Bravestarr figure and the new Bravestarr figure
Bionic 6 needs some love.
You forgot to talk about the Bionic Six and the Barnyard Commandos

Nerdy doing the Cactus Jack. Awesome. Bang Bang
I still have a sealed Marshall bravestar, a few mask in the box. I have loose figures from almost all these lines.
I remember I had the Lava Inhumanoid forget his name, and I (terribly) customized him to be Nimrod from the XMen when the Tob Biz line came out
I got satisfaction knowing I get to see another Nerdy video today in UA-cam.
@@MSGSlayer1 Yep too bad the that toyline was short lived.
I remember seeing a Pepsi can and a soccer ball as part of the series of toys.
I just started the video, so don't know what lines will be discussed. However, growing up, I remember having several figures from the Darkstar line.
I didn’t forget about any of these toy lines
Did you know that Chuck Norris is so talented? He once did a pop-up wheelie with an unicycle.😅
Forgot Dino riders an centurions
You want an obscure toyline? Unifighters by Galoob.
So many of these came to canada I remember watching but I don't ever remember photon
I would love to have a Battle Beast collection, but they are too expensive.
I have a collection of them. You just have to dig deep and search. Plus you can get some that are cheaper if you don't mind what you get
Clicked on this hoping to see something about the Sectaurs, a toy line nobody except me seemed interested in during the '80s and hasn't generated any post-factum online fandom. I thought they were awesome.
That was a cool walk though memory lane Matt. As always a great video. NWO for life!
I had some rambo figures they was nice. I bought the bravestarr from ramen toy.
had bravestarr and as a kid who loved cowboy stuff, he was a winner. Ramen and the other version are just too expensive in australian dollarydoos
the ghostbusters line are problematic. they develop a mould in them which will not come out and tracey’s body becomes fragile like glass. i had all three of the good guys but owning them made me nervous so, sold them. if they were re-booted, i’d get ‘em

8:34 LoL, that's a Mad scientist Dissect an alien toy mixed in with the Inhumanoids.

Co-Lee-Co
You left out M.A.S.K, STARCOM, Centurions, Dino Riders
I don't think M.A.S.K. counts as obscure.
Title should be “you” as in you nerdie, cause I didn’t forget any of these toys
No Captain Power?
the P and s is silent so it would just be core... yes I know it makes no sense.. I was calling the corps toys that instead of core as a kid :P
You need to watch that 2nd season of he man, it was way better than the first.
captain power
Where is Dino riders?
Can I double like this for the Chuck Norris facts?
Again, the:”p”, in the word corps is silent, and I have never heard of air raiders toy line until watched this video, and this was back in the 90’s I didn’t know that the filmation ghostbusters had a toy line until I noticed them at a Big Lots store here then💁🏻♂🤔.
The inhumanoids didn't have a bunch of human dead bodies. It's not the Earth corpse it's the Earth corp.. pronounced core
No Centurions?
You didn't mention Dino Riders or Wheel Warriors. kinda disappointed.
Chuck Norris can clog a toilet with pee
For next time, Coleco is pronounced Coh- LEE - Coh
If you watch the Tom Hanks movie Big, he is playing Photon in full gear in FAO Schwartz with a random kid, before he plays the giant foot piano.
We had Photon guns but not the helmet and armor set, and it was really fun. But with the armor set it would have been better for sure.
Hello.
When i was a kid in my friend's mom gave me an old Tendril that was hers from her childhood, but my mom flipped out and threw it away because she thought it was demonic, i was so sad and upset
1:19 If your next vid is about the history of anal I think you might see a huge increase in views 😂
