  • The Château of Villandry is one of the most famous castles of the Loire Valley. Villandry is home to the most beautiful gardens of the Loire Valley. Seven different sections, a French garden, an English garden, 125,000 plants, 52 kilometers of boxwood… all the statistics are over the top. But beyond the numbers, the gardens of Villandry are absolutely stunning. And the château of Villandry itself dates back from the Renaissance and hosts great collection of Spanish paintings from the 17th century.
If you are travelling to France and are wondering what to do in the Loire Valley, what to see in the Loire Valley, and which castle to visit in the Loire valley, the chateau and gardens of Villandry should definitely be on your list.

We couldn't believe it either given how much time we spend just taking care of our little backyard :)

The gardens are amazing, would love to visit this location and spend hours wandering around the various plantings. The structured gardens in France are so beautiful. The Chateau itself is impressive and looks quite preserved. Thanks for sharing this adventure.

You probably could spend the day. We spent two hours for the gardens alone and couldn't see everything.

Really enjoy watching your series from the Loire Valley…each chateau looks better than the last! But, the gardens at Villandry are freaking amazing! Love that the garden is a working garden! It cool to see the different types of gardens at the chateau…each with their own personality. The Chateau is cool…but the gardens steal the show! Thanks for sharing guys!

Geez, the gardens are unreal. So many fountains so many different items in the gardens. That's crazy that it was more food than it was flowers. I bet you guys got your walk-in for the day haha. Loved the higher shots made the designs come to life

You're absolutely right. Visitors actually have the option to buy a ticket for the gardens alone and skip the castle itself.

The garden is actually really nice in the fall too. Lettuce and cabbages get replaces by pumpkins and squash :).

oh wow it's amazing to see the number of chateaus that you guys went to in Loire Valley. i'm still enjoying each of your vids from Loire Valley hehehe. the gardens there are just beautiful. haha did not expect it to be cabbages and lettuces. it's also huge woow, the maintenance is insane after so many years. my mom would probably just stay here and marvel at each of the 7 gardens haha. the chateau looks gorgeous! its so cool seeing the 3D model with all the gardens?? such effort haha. thanks for touring us again an amazing chateau! c/t

As a Greek, I don't really get the reason why such types of gardens exist, but I guess, its appealing to some.
Beauty for the sake of beauty and overstyling are not my cup of tea, but, hey, to each their own.
    Nice video, guys.
And never forget, even if I dont like the sights, I still like you, two!

We have no clue what you just said 🤔🤔🤔. We thought ancient Greeks cared about beauty and geometric shapes 🏛🏛🏛. We just looked at each other and are both confused. Were you forced to eat cabbages and lettuce as a kid 😊😊😊?

      @@JamesandLaurent Ahahahahahaha
Yes, ancient Greeks valued aesthetics, but a purpose had to be served rather than just being beautiful.
And ancient Greeks would have hated Baroque or Rococo style. I hope you know that.
I used to eat lots of pasta when i was little. What's the diagnosis, doctors?
