Gosh Malcolm, just watched your en-route to & arrival at St Helena video -- what a journey indeed! I was riveted, most especially as I'd sailed there from CT years ago and have wonderful memories of the island & its fascinating people. We (5 of us) weren't subjected to the hammering that you & Rusty were victim to, although we were to encounter that (70+ knot gales from the Azores to Chichester in England) which meant no sails up at all for the two or so weeks during that final leg! Talk about exhausted & battered! Look forward to watching your other vids. Take good care & would love to re-connect once you are back on home ground & hear aaaalll about it & share some tales! Hugs, Nicky
It was wonderful to watch this... what a trip! I did it from Saldanha to Cape Town with a friend years ago and that was ordeal enough! I remember you and Rusty from Hillside.. you were a cop and Rusty was at Hamilton... I lived in Warwick Road and our neighbours were the Bodmers who lived opposite you! I was telling Penny and Harold about this video which I came upon quite by accident! :) What a nicely told adventure! :)
Thank you Chris - great to hear from someone so close to home and long long before we began with the mad ideas! I'll pass your kind wishes on to Rusty and I'm sure hell be in touch...
