The transformation of this garden is truly fabulous. It’s so lovely to see the beauty of your home stonework through the garden 💚💚💚
I LOVE THE RED ADDED TO YOUR PINKS. The red penta matches Tommy’s flag! You will find such joy seeing Tommy excited about a color for him to enjoy as well. Just a thought.
Stunning sunglasses!❤ Nice annuals in the garden
I think the pop of red looks fine. Especially when it fills in. Beautiful garden
I must say again----the painting and the windowed really looks terrific-----what a huge difference that made---
The red shows up better than the softer colors. Sometimes we need a strong pop of color to wake up our gardens
I like the big stones here and there in your front yard. 👍🏽
I am really enjoying watching you make this garden your own. It looks amazing and so are those sunglasses. Love them.
I’m a HUGE fan of red in the landscape, mostly because my home is in deep shade.
That being said, I agree with your hesitance in its use for your front landscape. It is jarring as a stand alone annual. Maybe would have a different impact if planted in multiple waves?
In any case, your landscaping is gorgeous and you’ve both worked extremely hard on it.
I agree. You should add more red or no red at all. Like @katedorman7042 said: it is jarring as a stand alone annual.
Great addition, the red looks wonderful with the purple! It is a much needed pop of color in the sea of green and gray. The problem is there is not enough of it, a big mass of dark red would be beautiful.
Coming along nicely! Great sunglasses! Thanks for sharing
cute glasses. tomatoes self pollinate mostly. As I get older i like reds, oranges and yellows more. i am over pink and purple. i like all the blue grey foliage in your garden. it is lovely.
Enjoying the front. Limiting the lawn , which is an ecological desert, is an excellent move. It’s really is just an eye interlude that frames and accents the beds. Well done.
Beautiful looking front garden, its the bees knees.
I like the little pops of red. Maybe more of a maroon or darker red? For Tommy!
Sorry Tommy! I agree with Sydney about the red. Any chance adding drip irrigation to your landscape beds to increase hydration, without disturbing tree roots and, without the runoff issues, is an option?
I enjoyed the front yard tour & things look so lovely & so do you. Thanks for the tour and the information about the plants.
I’m in the same boat as you with red. BUT! If red is corralled on the garden like in a planter I don’t mind it at all. I actually love red geraniums in pots. So if the red Pentas are bothering you, maybe consider putting the red in the back yard pots and moving the pink ones to the front!
I like the red pops of color! I would definitely keep them.
Everything is looking lovely! Well done!!🇨🇦🌸🇨🇦
I like the red ,there isn’t too much and with the flag on the house it looks great ,I think it was an excellent choice. You all have worked hard and you can definitely see it. Keep making it you own ♥️. 🌿🍃
I think the red pops with the color of your house. Adding a tall structural shrub in a large pot by your front door with some reds , purples would look good too. Your garden is looking great!😊
Your yard is beautiful.
Fabulous looking yard. Enjoy
I love red in my home... but not in my garden. I only use red and white cyclamen mixed with variegate ivy at Christmas time . Other than that, I am a blue, pink purple, white and chartreuse girl. It has such a softer , serene feeling to me. The front is looking beautiful. I am sure the succession planting will keep it colorful through summer into fall.
Yay!!!! Hope you do an update inside soon too. love your style
Just so beautiful!
Sydney....Loving those 🕶️ glasses...
WOW your front looks Great!!
Love it all! Beautiful!
I am a proponent of the color red 😅. I do think red is for bolder personalities, which i have in the garden. I love your yard, Sydney and Tommy. You've worked really hard to make it your own. I did the same thing many years ago. I enjoyed it so much.
just beautiful
Your garden looks amazing. I am not a fan of grasses so waiting to see if they blend better.
Love your sun glasses!!!😎. Front yard looking good!!
Everything looks great. So well maintained.
Your yard is goals!! You transformed it in such a short time too!!!
I love what you've done!
Hi Sydney. It's looking beautiful. Would you be able to do a video on pruning the boxwood? It would be very helpful. Thanks.
Your garden is Superb💕
I love the Blue/Silver🤍 also ! I adds a calm brightness.
Absolutely beautiful♥️♥️♥️
I love all the pops of blue-it looks so nice
Very pretty
Love your sunglasses!
The front is looking sooooo good! Not the right color of red! Sticks out like a sore thumb. I am interested to see how your pink muly grass does. I gave mine 3 years in a similar lighting condition and they never developed the pretty pink seed heads. I transplanted them to a completely full sun location. Hopefully they will perform better. Love your sunnies!
Your yard is absolutely beautiful, love your Ed around your flowerbeds and love your grass
The red is a bit stark in comparison to the blues and pinks. The structure and plantings are lovely and reflect your hard work and planning. Looking forward to the backyard tour and update on the bees!
Your yard is so pretty! I love your home,so nice! Thank you for sharing
All looking good! Thanks for the tour.
I have always loved the artificial turf. From here, it looks like a real lawn and is always neat and trim. My favorite looks and colors in the landscape are the different shades of green foliage and white blossoms sprinkled with purples. It lends itself to a classic or English look and that accompanied with the stone and style of your home - looks just beautiful. You and Tommy have done so much in the little time you have been there - your hard work has paid off beautifully.
Hi Sydney, I agree with you on the red… just doesn’t have your signature style in it! The amount of time, money and care to getting all of your foundation issues such as caring for your trees, doing your steel borders and boulders along with repainting your trim has sooooo paid off, it makes all your plants pop in such a beautiful and classy way. Loving your crisp style!
I like the boxwoods not so heavily pruned
By the way love the shades ❤
Love all the silver, blue and green.
I don’t mind red but tend towards, purples, pinks, blues kind of spectrum etc. that said we plant to attract wildlife so we do plant cardinal plants ( lobelia) which is bright red. But the constant visits from humming birds is well worth it and the flower itself is beautiful.
Wow that’s a stunning front yard,well done!
Here’s a silly thing for you:
You are the second cutest lady in Oklahoma City.
Why second?
Because your former neighbor,Linda Vater, well she has captured my heart for years☺️
Your front yard looks beautiful. Love your sunglasses 🕶️
Sydney I’m leaning into boxwoods not being perfectly tight balls. I’m liking them looser and showing some of the new growth. I love love your sunglasses!
Any chance you could change your sprinklers to drip? That may solve your problem with water. Garden looks good.
Sydney love your original color palette. I agree with you about the red in your garden. I would remove it. Also love your sunglasses. 😎
Everything is looking lovely!
Your front looks soooo nice. I love the same color pallet blues, chartreuse, shades of pink and some lavender too.
I have no gardening experience and appreciate your talent but think more pops of flowers/colors would look pretty. You said that somethings haven't bloomed yet. I think some big pots of something flanking each side of the front door would look great. I love your sunglasses! Looking forward to the backyard tour also.
So pretty❤
I love what you have done. And I love love those sunglasses! Where did you get them? Please send a link.
I agree also I really don’t care for a red in my flowerbeds
I feel the same way about red in our garden, lean very much toward a palette similar to what you're creating. Maybe it strikes me as calming, I really don't know. I also don't love dark yellow (palest yellows I love). I often like those in others' gardens, just don't favor them for mine. Everything's looking great, Sydney. 🙌🏼
Love the Helen Von Stein. I have many from one plant I got. I agree that the red is not my favorite especially with the blue. I think the purple pink is better. I have some pink Veronica that is beautiful and well behaved that blooms after the salvia. Good job!
I agree about red. I bought 2 dwarf knockout roses last year and I'll move them somewhere I can mostly ignore them or maybe give them to a friend in the Fall. I thpught they were deep pink but they are real red. I also dislike yellow and orange. I love white, blue, pink, lavender, and even fuschia if it is deep pink and not red. I love what you've done with your gardens.
I have to agree with you on the red. You can always put it in pots.
It's stunning!! No red. I absolutely love the color red but not in my garden. Purples, blues, grays, chartreuse and pinks with a splash of white. How can you possibly get so much done when you work and go away a lot? Not to mention your nails always look fabulous!!
Beautiful ❤
Hi Sydney, Your front looks beautiful. In that area where you mentioned the draining. Wouldn't it be possible to built a dry creek. I think that will really enhance the garden.
HAPPY GARDENING!
I like the unexpected flash of Red. Sometimes all Beige (or Green) is boring.
I love the red penta's!!!
Hi Sydney! I’m sure you’ve thought about this, and I’m curious why drip irrigation wouldn’t work for your front yard. Have a beautiful day!
Beautiful!
I agree with you on the red.
Sydney the front looks wonderful! You did a fantastic job making the landscape your own. Perhaps you could.put some type of rock or something else where you lost the lambs ear.❤
I don't mind the red if Tommy was thinking of a theme for fourth of July. But I hate red and orange in the garden so I'd keep them for the holiday, then gift them or put them somewhere tommy can enjoy them, like a container. Everything else is so beautiful Sydney! Can we get an indoor tour sometime too?
Yeah, generally not a fan of red. I have seen some gardens where it looks good but packed with other colors like yellow too. I think it is a sensible decision to keep the artificial turf. Why fight with the shade and tree roots? Thanks for sharing
I agree on the red. It’s an annual color for me. Geraniums. Otherwise purple fuschia white some orange. If o had roses I would have red. But i don’t plant roses bc I dont like thorns. 🥰
I love the cooling aspect of the blue hues in your garden. I don’t have any red in my garden, I prefer the pinks to purple. Like other comments, can you add some drip lines where you need more water? I noticed the white coneflower, I have some white coneflowers that reverted to pink, has that happened to you? I do have pink echinacea in my garden, a cross pollination issue?
You have inspired me❤
Beautiful!
I have the same color palette preferences as you, so red is a no go for me. I can see others landscape with red and think it’s gorgeous, but for my own yard I prefer not to add red or orange. 😊
I'm not a red person and I think pink goes better with the silver plants like artemesia and lambs ears.
It is nice, but the garden needs more color. It should be popping with color this time of year.
More red would make it pop!!! 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
You and Tommy have been in so much effort and money to update the infrastructure of your home and garden. The edging and boulders are wonderful! I’ve never seen such a huge lamb’s ear! I appreciate the updates, names of the flowers/plants, and your thought process on your design choices.
Love the front yard! You have such a gift for combining beautiful plants in a gorgeous color palette.
I’m with you on the red; it doesn’t fit your aesthetic. I have more red than I prefer in my garden as my husband likes it. 🤷
Too much variety for me, it was hard for me to connect the dots and the pops. Probably next year the weight of all the gardens will be present.
Looking good. Not sure the red works either, imo it pops too much & draws the eye to it at the expense of everything else.
How do you deal with Japanese Beetles in your garden.
Linda Dorough Dixon/Mountain Park, Georgia/If you plant red you would need to spot red all through your garden. I think you should not start the red.. I don't have red in my garden... Also, your garden has taken on a boring appearance... So has mine because I love the green shades and the off-white shades. I was disappointed you chose to change Lindas gardens...It is becoming your garden, and it does look very nice and neat...Keep up the good work...
I don’t like reds in my garden because it makes me anxious(😂), but give it a go for Tommy this year.
I am growing sedum for the first time this year and don’t know how often to water. I have in pots in full sun. Advice?
🤩❤
I like the color pink and purple, rather red. I think it would stick out like a sore thumb.
❤
I’m with you on the red. Don’t care for it at all….even the new flag…too red. I find red causes me to feel anxious. No relaxing where there’s red. I even avoid shopping in stores that have a lot of red. Orange is close behind. I’m very sensitive to color.
The flag is Maroon. Texas A& M colors are Maroon and White!
Beautiful garden. I'm not a red person either.
Where did you buy your Sunglasses from in this video?
