Yay! I was hoping you’d follow the Pro-2 video with a similar one of the Prophet 12. I never loved the sound from the Prophet 12 from demo videos, but I can’t help but feel like I would be able to coax something great out of it. It seems like such an intuitive and powerful machine. Excited to watch this one all the way through.
Nice video. FYI, you can change the delay feedback mode to "low" and prevent it from overloading. I think too often folks first approach this synth like more traditional DSI gear and get very "meh" sounds. But you illustrated how insane it can get, and fast. Gain staging is hyper sensitive for sure and it's easy to get digital clipping. And character effects go from nice to chaos in a second. I feel like Dave took the opposite design approach to some things here, the modulation matrix is massive, especially compared to more traditional sequential gear.
btw I had to turn my iPad upside down to see what you were doing hahaha! And the patch you created is really cool, very creative! I have to spend more time with the P12...
I thought the last FM sounds you got were stunning. The P12 just isn't your aesthetic. Yeah, "Industrial" not "lush" is about right. I'm sure you know Cortini (NIN) toured with a P12.
Yeah - definitely. I had absolutely no idea that NIN toured with the P12, which actually is hilarious since I described it as the NIN synthesizer, lol. Yeah, that last FM sound seemed alright, I was a little surprised about that!
Interesting, I find this to be a more 'natural' view, but I guess that's just because it was the way I filmed it and so it's the way I want to view it. I can try to upload a rotated version at some point.

I'm curious what you think after having watched it - I don't even want to watch my video, hahaha. Thanks :)
I reuploaded the video, see below for link. Hope this helps.

I am always looking for someone doing P12 videos, my favourite DSI. thank you!
Maybe I'll make some more, thanks for watching :)
Great video. Love the sound of the P12. You made some great patches!
Thanks!

Yes, good point! I may have forgotten to do that here. It's really a great synth, and I know I didn't get into everything - because it's so deep.

Please Rotate your Videos. I am enjoying but its hard to see what you are doing.
