The great Barbra Dickson from my home town of Dunfermline in Fife and as a young lad I used to sneak down the little alley in Chalmers Street listening to the folk singers which at that time I did’nt know that Barbra was one of those singers. But still listen to her music even today and I’m now 66.

Disappointed Ken didn't fire any questions at her about her time being an integral part of the Two Ronnies Show in the 70's. So many people got to know her through this.
She has spoken about it in other interviews and revealed that when she did the 1976 series - all eight songs were recorded on a single day and were simply dropped in at the edit stage. She never performed to a studio audience. She went to lunch with the Two Ronnie's before the series began but never saw Ronnie Barker again although she did subsequently meet Ronnie Corbett and appeared on his solo shows. She was chosen to do the 1976 Two Ronnies series by Terry Hughes - the producer - who saw her in the Willy Russell show 'John Paul George Ringo..and Bert... and booked her immediately. By the time the show was broadcast she had had her first top ten hit 'Answer Me' but, as you suggest, appearing on the Two Ronnie's to 12 million people every week really made her a household name.
