Crazy how some of the most broken vehicles are either race cars with guns or just AA
or both
It's basically a consequence of their design decisions. Since you can't spontaneously spawn SPAA in response to CAS and have to commit to them, they need to be useful even when planes aren't up or nobody would spawn them ever. Which means they need to be able to fight tanks on some level, and being able to fight tanks in vehicles that as a rule of thumb have excellent firing rates, great range and fast turret rotation is very good.
@@patrioticshitstain You also have to include how when hunting CAS in SPAA, its practically not rewarding as you get low rewards killing planes compared to killing tanks and the amount of skill needed to hit planes is much more than hunting tanks, and when compared to skilled needed for CAS, its so much more. Gaijin needs to make it more rewarding for players to use SPAA against CAS, cause so far there isn't much of a reason to bring SPAA onto a lineup, unless it can kill tanks.

I use M109 mostly for AA playing 6.7. Always fun to slap a plane out of the sky with 155mm pf shell. Got some crazy shots with it

Kugelblitz that trades its already little armor for 2x the firepower at 1BR lower. 4 30mms with 77mms pen will absolutely obliterate anything thats a light tank and can harass most medium tanks and even kill some@@bufonidae5173

i still find it funny that they nerfed the hvap belt just enough so it couldn't side pen t44s 80mm and pershing fighting compartment 75 but it angles inwards so it's effective 80~, "amazing" how the de marre formula got them to those numbers

@@genuinestyle4872 Yea the german 30mm hvap could pen like a little over 80mms of armor i think it was like 84mms but gaijinging nerfed it. yet russia gets the ZSU-57 with 2 automatic 57mm autocannons that have 150mm pen rounds i think there APHE or the APHE might only be able to pen 120mms but still thats 120mms of armor

Not by me!!! I have a vendetta against CAS and will usually spend my SPAA lifetime trying to keep planes off my team; I genuinely only bring AP for defense.

I have both the Kugelblitz and the Osterwind 2 already researched but Im trying to research the Zerstörer and it says its in research but after numerous games, it has yet to even add any points to add to it. This has been happening since it started. Any idea why this is happening?
Zerstorer is what attacking soldiers say in Age Of Empires II, if you're playing a Germanic nation
It's has the same gun as the Kubelblitz.
It's SLIGHTLY different, but pretty much identical

What shells is that thing firing? It’s punching right through all of the tanks armor (even the tigers). Is that how it would be in real life? I always heard stories that the Sherman couldn’t punch through Tiger armor and that has a larger cannon (from what it looks like).

My favorite part is where shooting down a plane STILL only gives you like 1/4th the amount of XP and SL as a tank... Hm I wonder why people still use spaa as primarily AT..

But better, armor not.
It's swaps the Wirbelwind's 20mm guns for 30mm so it's got a big upgrade in firepower.
Obviously less armour but you've essentially got 2x the firepower of the Kugelblitz at a lower BR with your only real drawbacks being a lower clip capacity (but the reload isn't that slow) and the lack of armour for the gun crew.
